-
HLC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [670] at home, etc., in regard to his life work, and the proper interpretation of his Reading through this channel of Sept. 26, 1939. You will answer the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [670], and the information which has been indicated through these channels.
-
In the analyzing of instructions or directions from such information, ALWAYS the sources are to be taken into consideration; also self, and the urges, and the desires.
-
Such information is as warnings, or as that which may stimulate the activities in given directions - as will work with bringing into manifestation abilities that may have been latent, or not even recognized in self.
-
Hence these AS urges are to be considered also, - not always that which is the better for the moment from the material angle. For there ARE laws that govern all such; spiritual laws, mental laws.
-
And if an individual is attempting to comply with the spiritual, the mental and the material laws as one, and thus fulfil the purpose for which it as an individual is given an opportunity in a material plane, it WILL consider from the SPIRITUAL angle, - and thus NOT greater stress upon the material.
-
These may change even from the TENDENCIES as may appear from first instruction, or first activities. For, remember this: As every power or influence is a creative thing, it brings then to the material activity varied experiences that become more of an impression than that as may have even started or begun the activity!
-
This may be seen in any instrument that has been a development in the mind of man. It is not because in spirit such in its perfect form is not existent or did not exist, but the ability of the individual in materiality to comprehend had its evolution in usage or application of the abilities!
-
It is as might be seen in the bicycle, the automobile, the telephone, the electric light, or any of those phases of man’s experience.
-
So it is with the individual here.
-
As we find, however, the fields of activity as relate to the anthropology will be the greater outlet for this individual entity.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Am I doing the right thing associating myself with Dr. Sterling of the Bureau of Ethnology, or would it be better to stay with Dr. Stewart of the Department of Anthropology and seek compensation through the Works Progress Administration? Which would be more in keeping with that which has been suggested? (A) These as we have just indicated are the facts; and the choices must be made by the entity.
-
(Q) Would it be advisable to take up the illustrating and drawing under Mr. Cassidy, as permanent employment? (A) If this is the desire of the entity in the face of that which has just been indicated, as coordinated with the general information as to the direction that the life course or life expression in this experience may take, choose.
-
(Q) In reference to that portion of the third paragraph of last Reading, which states “and especially as may be associated in any portion of the land where there has been the indication of the activities of the entity in that particular field.” What portion of WHAT land is referred to as having been indicated, and wherein has it been indicated? (A) Coordinate same with the information which has been given as to the indwelling of the entity in the various experiences in the earth. This refers to those activities.
-
(Q) What particular field is referred to as that particular field in which there has been the activity of the entity? (A) READ that which has just been indicated!
-
We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 11/25/39 Received reading yesterday very satisfactory, just what I needed. Before writing you for last reading I had gone over and re-read all my previous readings, and while they did help, there was still some doubt in my mind, which the last reading has cleared up. I have decided to stay with Dr. Stewart of the Dep’t of Anthropology. It is doubtful at the moment just what I will do about procuring money to work on but it will turn out alright.
R2. 2/13/40 Mr. [333]‘s letter: “[670] is finally back at work in the Division of Anthropology at Smithsonian and earning a little money starting this month. He did not give up his work there though he was not paid for his time and work.”
R3. 6/14/40 “Things have come to a standstill for me at the Museum. I am now working on W.P.A. doing clerical work that is not in line with what has been suggested that I should look to for occupation.
“While mine is not the only discontent in these troubled times I feel that another check reading would perhaps help me to help others a lot more…
“Do you get any interesting information on the European situation? It truly is a ghastly thing they’re doing over there. I would like to know just what attitude would be best for the United States to take. It seems as though we are in a position to help greatly the peace seeking refugees of Europe. It seems that this country is the most ideal haven left to them. With the wealth that we enjoy in this country we should be able to play the part well.
“In these unsettled times you must be very busy. I hope you don’t find it too great a strain.”
