1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [670], who seeks information as to where and how it would be best to go about seeking employment.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [670].

3. In considering the desire for employment, and in keeping with that which has been suggested as to the channel or branches of activity in which the entity would find the greatest outlet, and more harmonious activities in the experience:

4. As we find, through the same channels and branches in which the entity has been engaged in research in the natural history and the archaeological research should be found the proper activity, - through those same offices in which there has been the training and the developing for such work.

5. Continue to be insistent, to be consistent in the application of self; and whether there are the returns in the immediate or not, insist upon being associated, affiliated and connected in such a way and manner that there may be the offices, or office of filling the place in any of such research; for these activities will continue, and especially as may be associated in any portion of the land where there has been the indication of the activities of the entity in that particular field.

6. Be insistent, then, with the connections that have been made. STAY there, BE there; that there may be the better opportunities for the body.

Mr. Edgar Cayce Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

“While the reading of Sept. 26th, 1939 which I received from you was fairly complete. I feel that it was perhaps a mistake on my part that I did not submit a few questions. At that time I had just returned from Mexico and I did not understand my situation as fully as I do now; for that reason no necessary question occurred to me.

“As the situation stands now I can see more than one opportunity for employment; I have made some connections with the art department at the Smithsonian and I am now engaged in some temporary work for Dr. Sterling in the Bureau of Ethnology; looking forward to the time when he will find it possible to employ me. At the present time I am not getting any compensation.

“Now some doubt has arisen in my mind, as to whether or not I am doing the right thing. Perhaps I should stay with Dr. Stewart of the department of Anthropology.

“As some doubt has arisen as to the proper proper interpretation of your last reading I feel the need of another check reading, in the hope that it will indicate the direction in which I can most satisfactorily and righteously direct my efforts. I feel sure that a few questions will make it possible for me to benefit more fully from your last reading.

“I know you will help me as always and I sure do appreciate it.

“Mother and Dad send their regards. Let us know how you and yours are getting along.

“Wishing you all the best, I remain,”
