This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at 1867 Kalorama Road, Washington, D.C., this 21st day of February, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [751], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Lillian B. Whitmore and J. Howard Lawler.]
Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [751].
-
As we find, there are improvements in the general physical forces of the body since last we had same. There needs to be, as we find, some alterations or changes in the application of those things that would bring activities in the desired directions by the body. For there has been sufficient change in those activities through portions of the system as indicated where the disturbances were in the position which had tended to make for the lack of activity in the organs of the pelvis; also those activities in the assimilating system, that has prevented the proper coagulations, and the adhesions to the system - these have become in more of a normal reaction.
-
So, we would find, it would be well to keep three to six more of the adjustments AND massage, with the general activity. And for the impotency, we would add this as a change in the present:
-
We would prepare two solutions in this manner: Chloride of Gold 1 grain to 1 ounce of distilled water. Bicarbonate of Soda 1 grain to 1/2 ounce of distilled water. Those proportions. As we find, it would be preferable for there to be an ounce of the Chloride of Gold solution and 2 ounces of the Soda solution prepared. When these are to be taken, which we would take of morning before the meal and of evening before retiring, the first day take 1 minim of the Gold solution and 2 minims of the Soda solution in half a glass of water - morning and evening. The next day take 2 of the Gold solution and 4 of the Soda solution. The next day 3 of the Gold solution and 6 of the Soda solution. The next day we would take 4 of the Gold solution and 8 of the Soda solution. Then skip one day. Then begin again with the 1 of the Gold and 2 of the Soda, and repeat the whole procedure for at least 3 or 4 such rounds or periods.
-
And we will find that, if there has been the adherence to the suggestions as to the exercise, the diet and the activities in the massage or the osteopathic adjustments and massage, to make for the proper assimilation and stimulation to the glands, we will have increased and found a great deal of difference in the activities of the organs of the system.
-
Ready for questions.

We are through with this reading.

R1. 3/4/35 [751]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I received your check reading as of Feb. 21st and after reading same over, I began to analyze the report and regret to say that I came to the sad conclusion that you absolutely say nothing but jumble a bunch of words. I assure you that it is not my intention to be harsh, curt or unfair BUT
In the first paragraph, you talk about physical forces, improvements, changes, etc. but there has been no change at all. I followed your program religiously, I went to Dr. Dobbins three times a week for four weeks, then took a drop of atomidine in a half a glass of water morning and night for a month, then Dr. Dobbins four times again…STILL NO IMPROVEMENT.
Now you suggest changing the medication to a drop of chloride of gold in an ounce of water and then taking a drop of this solution in half glass of water. Why the strength of this last solution would be so infinitesimal that I doubt if a chemical analysis would reveal any trace of the gold at all.
Regarding the impotency I am no better today than the day I met you at Mr. Kahn’s home.
With this change in medication, it appears to me that you are just groping about and not as sure of yourself as you pretended to be in the original reading.
In your favor to me of Dec. 28th, you stated “You don’t want to fool yourself and most of all not to give false hopes to any one”. On this theory, I must assume that you have failed in my case and cannot help me.
Please bear in mind that I am telling the truth and cannot report any progress at all. I assure you that it would give me great pleasure to report to you the opposite and my appreciation would not be in idle words.
Although greatly disappointed and somewhat disillusioned, I would appreciate hearing any expression from you on the above.
R2. 3/5/35 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “Mr. [751] and his friend Mr. [869] just left here (2 A.M. Tues.) very much pleased with my going over the rdgs. and explaining a lot of things to them. They have been here since 8:30. They now want 2 rdgs. each and also 6-7 for friends upon your arrival in N.Y.”
R3. 3/6/35 [751]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce,
Spent a very pleasant evening with Mr. [257] last night and he told me that you would probably be here by Saturday morning. I was happy to hear of this, as I feel that you will be able to straighten me out on a few points.
If you have received Mr. [869]‘s application, put off his reading until you get here.
Kindest regards,
Very truly yours, [751]

R4. 3/8/35 EC’s letter to Mr. [751]:
Mr. [751], …, N.Y.
Dear Mr. [751]:
Yours of the 4th and 6th came, with enclosure, for which I thank you very much. I am glad you had the opportunity to talk with Mr. [257]. I do not claim anything. I know you remember my telling you when I first met you that I did not profess to fully understand it, and that I could only tell you the experience of myself and others. But I would like, for just a minute, not for argument sake but just for reason, to review the situation; and if it doesn’t sound reasonable, and if Dr. Dobbins or any other physician to whom you might go doesn’t say it is reasonable, then forget all about it:
In the first reading I think you will notice, by going over it very carefully, that it told you of many conditions that were necessary for correction to build up your system properly; and at that time there was given you something that should act upon the glands of your system, stimulating them to such an activity that there might possibly then be added that which would aid in correcting the impotency in their functioning. In the last reading it was indicated that changes had taken place. Possibly you are quite right in saying that there are no apparent changes at all; possibly not in the direction you most desire, but I am sure you recognize that if the information in the readings is worth anything at all it reasons from within and not from the symptoms from without. It doesn’t reason in the same way as a physician, or someone looking at the symptoms and then telling you what’s the matter; for it really tells you what is matter internally and then what the symptoms are from such a condition.
Then after this condition had improved (as is suggested in the last reading that it is improved), there was the change to the giving of the Gold. Now as to whether this is too small an amount to do any good or not, I cannot answer; but I am sure - from the experience of the years - that the dosage given is of such a nature that it works best with the individual system. The proof of the whole thing, Mr. [751], has been the results so many hundreds and thousands of individuals have gotten by following out the readings. I recognize the fact that not everyone gets results, because many people get to where they are persuaded by others - or persuade themselves - that it is a lot of hooey, and stop before they get any real results. I hope, though, that your conversation with Mr. [257] - who has had twenty odd years of experience with this work, and who has seen it under almost every sort of condition and circumstance - has persuaded you to at least give the last suggestions made a fair trial. It is not a thing that works like magic, if it is truth; for it is a growth from within the individual, whether it be from a physical condition, mental or what not.
I do hope you will get results. And if you don’t, we want to find out why.
As yet I have not heard from Mr. [869]. I notice from your letter that Mr. [257] told you we expected to be in New York the latter part of this week. I don’t think it will be possible for us to get there before the week of the 17th, or later. I don’t know just now, as my father hasn’t been very well - and we have delayed coming, or making the arrangements, until we know just how he gets along. He is greatly improved, and I hope will soon be alright.
Thank you very much for your letter, and for your frankness in presenting the matter as you did. But let’s reason together about it, and if there is anything in this work let’s find it out - if there isn’t, let’s find it out! As I said before, I do not want to bring false hopes to anyone. I can only tell you the experiences that others have found.
With kind regards, I am
Sincerely, [EC:GD] ASS’N FOR RESEARCH & ENLIGHTENMENT, INC.
