This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Va. Beach, Va., this 12th day of July, 1932, in accordance with request made by his mother, Mrs. [1192], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will have before you [758] who left Gardner Camp School near Hopewell Junction, Dutchess Co., Stormville, N.Y., on Sunday afternoon July 10, 1932, on a hike. You will please trace the movements of this body from that time until the present time, and tell us where he is now and give directions how best to reach him. You will answer questions will be asked.

2. EC: We do not find him among those on the hike.

3. (Q) Do you find him at this school or camp during, or earlier in the day? (A) Do not find him at this camp or school. Find him at lunch, with others.

4. (Q) Please trace him from the time you locate him. Was [758] at lunch at the camp or school at lunch time? (A) We do not locate him after lunch, here on the grounds, or about the buildings or the camp here.

5. (Q) Where did he go? Please trace the body from the time you locate him at lunch? (A) We do not find him here.

6. (Q) Do you find him at this school any time during - (A) At lunch.

7. (Q) He was there at lunch? (A) He was there at lunch.

8. (Q) Please follow the body from lunch, tell us where he went. (A) We do not find the body.

9. (Q) What happened to the body? (A) We do not find the body.

10. (Q) Please tell us how we may get information regarding this body thru this channel. (A) We do not find the body.

11. (Q) Did [758] leave with the others on the hike to stay overnight about one mile from Stormville? (A) We find the body at lunch. We do not find him later.

12. (Q) Please trace the body’s movements from lunch time. (A) We do not find the body.

13. (Q) Where were the movements of the body after he ate lunch? (A) We do not find the body.

14. (Q) Can you give us any information regarding [758]? (A) We do not find the body.

15. (Q) Will you please tell us when [758] was last seen at the Gardner School, or when you can locate him? (A) We do not find the body.

17. (Q) What suggestion can be given that would aid in finding the body? (A) We do not find the body after lunch.

18. (Q) The body did not go on the hike, or did the body start on the hike? (A) We do not find the body.

19. (Q) How may we contact the forces that can help us locate this body? (A) We do not find the body.

20. (Q) Can you follow the body from Sunday morning and tell us the movements? (A) We have the body at lunch. We do not find the body afterwards.

21. (Q) Will you tell us what the body did after lunch? (A) We do not find the body except at lunch.

22. (Q) Was the body taken ill at lunch? (A) We do not find the body.

23. (Q) What was the physical condition of the body, [758] at lunch? (A) We do not find the body.

24. (Q) Some boys from Gardner School were taken on an overnight hike near the foot of a mountain about one mile from Stormville, N.Y. [758] was with these children at the time, as they made preparations for the overnight camp. Can you locate him there? (A) We do not locate him.

25. (Q) Why can’t you trace the body from the time he was at lunch on Sunday? (A) We do not find the body afterward.

26. (Q) Can’t you trace him from the lunch table? (A) Cut off there. We cannot.

27. (Q) What is meant by “cut off there”? (A) Can’t see him!

28. (Q) Can you tell us if anything happened to the body which caused death? (A) We do not find the body.

29. (Q) Will you please explain to us what prevents you from tracing the body? (A) Something interferes - we do not know.

30. (Q) In attempting at another time to obtain information regarding [758] will you please tell us the best suggestion to give to the body Edgar Cayce in order to get information regarding [758], that we may aid his parents in locating him? (A) We do not find the body.

[GC gave the suggestion to wake EC.]

R1. GD’s note: EC was terribly disappointed - we all were, since we wanted so much to help the parents find [758]. EC said he would try again that night to get a reading. However, around eight o’clock Mrs. [1192] phoned to say that [758] had been found on the other side of the mountain and was in the hospital. He was all scratched up, almost famished and with no clothes on! He had been missing almost two days and two nights - in a dazed state, but still wore his glasses - remarkable! He was found about seven P.M. on 7/12/32.

R2. 7/16/32 Father, Mr. [417]‘s letter: “Mrs. [1192] and I are not over the shock yet and I am, however, forcing myself to write a few words at this time to those we love so dearly.

“[758] is still in a bewildered state and his entire body is covered with poison ivy which does not help the situation any. We do hope that within the next few days we will be able to clear this up and try very hard to bring him back to himself once again.

“We have not had any time to lay plans for the future for him but will, however, write you again as soon as we have made a decision. At the present time we have him home with us at our new address which is …, N.Y.”

R3. 7/21/32 EC’s letter:

Many thanks for yours of the 16th. Sister [Annie Cayce] let us read her letter from Mrs. [1192]. I’m just hoping that [758] is recovering nicely from the physical and mental shock he must have had, and that each of you are adjusting yourselves. It is hard to conceive of people being so negligent, but possibly it is not our business to condemn anyone. I’m sure you have not been able to lay your plans even yet, but I certainly do trust that you will be able to make a visit to the beach. Know that we are all thinking of you and praying for you. Trust that everything is coming along as nicely as might be expected under the circumstances.

P.S. I had a dream last night about visiting you and Mrs. [1192] and [758], and right now I have a very vivid picture of [758] in my mind - as to just how he looked after passing through such an ordeal. Bless his heart! Miss Barclay has been calling up and coming by to see us every few days to ask about him. I know everything will work out alright, for he was certainly miraculously saved - and that for a purpose, we know - God’s purpose. Love. GD.

R4. 10/17/32 Mr. [417]‘s letter: “We have had [758] home with us since his return from camp and yesterday Mrs. [1192] and I took him to a private school at Haddonfield, N.J. [Bancroft School] which we hope will turn out alright. [758] seems to be getting on very well and Mrs. [1192] and I hope and pray that they will be able to do something with him at this school so that we may have him home with us in a short time.”

R5. 10/27/32 Mrs. [1192] is feeling a little better and [758] has been in bed for a few days with a cold at his school but we were informed last night that he is very much better and he will be attending his classes at school the rest of the week.”

R6. 11/14/32 EC’s letter to Mr. [417] and Mrs. [1192]:

Well, I am in Virginia Beach; I just wish it were plausible, reasonable and possible for you to be here also. Everything is quiet and beautiful. I know you would enjoy it for a while, at least.

I do not know how to tell you how much it meant to me to have you show such an interest in my welfare by coming to the train as you did. I know I was all keyed up and possibly didn’t express my appreciation very well. It was right funny how the Conductor looked after me, even to seeing that my wife met me properly at the station; for he didn’t turn me loose until I was in the car. I don’t know what he thought was the matter with me.

R7. 11/16/32 Mr. [417]‘s letter: “Enclosed you will please find questions for [758]‘s reading and I sure hope he will get a good one. [758] is at the Bancroft School…and will be there Fri. morning at school. Kindly send the rdg. right out to me special delivery at the above address so that I will receive it Sat. and I can go over it before we go to the school Sun.

“Would you kindly send me the name of the school near Philadelphia that you have been giving readings for and also the name of the doctor… [Rosehill School, Chester Heights, Pa., run by Mrs. Anne M. Pope; Elisha T. Kirk, D.O., physician. See [146] series, etc.]

“Dear Edgar, also send me a jar of TIM.

“The reason the Conductor looked after you the way he did was because Mrs. [1192] told him to, and she also told him that you never travelled alone.”
