This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of May, 1933, in accordance with request made by the father, Mr. [417], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading % The Bancroft School, 11:00 to 11:25 A. M. Haddonfield, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [758]; this we have had before - [758].
-
Now, as we find, there is a considerable change in the general physical reactions of the body. Many, as we find, are towards more normal and more rational reactions.
-
While many changes have come about that are for those reactions which we have indicated through these channels before might be expected at periods of change, that would cause some anxiety; yet, if these conditions are handled properly or taken advantage of in the mental attitude, by the reactions towards the body from those who are specifically in charge of the body and its activities, also the reactions and manifestations given as the guides and directions for the body-mental, we may expect the body to be greatly improved - coordinating all these conditions in such a manner. If these are neglected, or if there are not the proper precautions taken, eventually there must become such constitutional conditions as to leave the body-physical without that development as it should have through this experience.
-
Then, to do this, it would require - not pampering, no; but POSITIVE LOVING reactions in the associations with the body-physical, to prevent fear or any disturbance entering in, through undue requirements made of the body that might cause such.
-
The precautions as to the care of self, and the reasons why care should be taken of self through these periods, will make for a much better reaction - and bring nearer coordinating forces with the conditions developing in the body, [758].
-
Surrounding the body there should be those things that pertain to music, rhythm, harmony, peace, undisturbed reaction, or those things that appeal to the imaginative forces of the body - without too great a disturbance in the fire elements of emotion - will make for much more calm and normal reactions.
-
We would keep those vibrations from the Radio-Active Appliance, and keep the anodes CLEANER. Be more persistent WITH the applications, keeping all connections in contact properly, and we will find the much better reaction in every manner as respecting the physical and mental forces of this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Would the camp in Maine, run by the Bancroft School, be the proper place to send the body for the summer? (A) This would depend upon whether there is the proper relationship kept, in the manner we have indicated, as to the position and mental reactions of the body.
Not that the body should not be made to depend upon self, to be self-reliant; but do not FORCE the issues by unkind treatment to make FEAR the reaction!
Rather use love, harmony, and the reasons for doing the things required; and watch the difference that may be brought to self by the listening to music - which is a factor in the improvements for this body, for the interests of this body, for the arousing of things for the body. Of course, if this part of the development is applied or superintended by one who knows nothing of the rhythmic action to the body, such an one would hardly see it; but if applied in the proper direction definite beneficial results may be obtained. And, with the other things added as we have suggested between now and that time - with such things as applied from nature, or to nature, as relating to this, kept in the activities of the body, the change would be very well.
-
(Q) Are the teachers handling him properly? (A) As indicated, there are periods when those that are the closer to the body are rather too severe.
-
(Q) Is the body’s nurse kind to him and does she take the proper care of body? (A) These attentions very good, but there needs to be better COOPERATION and COORDINATION of those suggestions as outlined WITH the directions from the instructors or principals of the institution!
-
(Q) Is his diet alright? (A) There has been an upset, you see, which has been allowed through the various changes that have the more recently come about - by those activities that have been taking place in the system, and the diet may be directed better by taking precautions as to those outlines that have been so oft given, that there may be the better reaction and less of that tendency for the upsetting of the system, causing reactions through the mental forces of the body.
-
(Q) What can be done for the body to put on weight? (A) This must be through the diet, to be sure. Those things that aid in body-BUILDING may be taken for the body. He hasn’t had ENOUGH to eat, and the WRONG things at times when enough was given! Hence many of the little conditions that arise, or have arisen - over which there has been some corrections, where there wasn’t altogether the proper consideration!
-
(Q) Would you suggest a place to send the body for the summer that would be the best, considering all that has been given? (A) The place suggested is as well or as good as any, as we find, if these directions are followed that we have given. You see, we are taking conditions as they EXIST, and making suggestions for corrections under EXISTENT forces!
-
(Q) Any further advice regarding this body? (A) Do these. Be consistent with all promises, and consider that each is an individual - but that each is a portion, and a COOPERATIVE portion, of the whole activities.
The period through which the body is passing in its PHYSICAL development has much to do with the TEMPERAMENTAL conditions that arise; also the reactions through the character and kind of suggestions given produce or bring about RESENTMENTS in the activities of the body. Hence the stress that we have given should be put on harmony, peace, and such activities in the mental AND material forces of the body.
- We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 6/2/33 Father’s letter: “Mrs. [1192] and I went down to [758]‘s school last week for the closing and he looked so badly we took him home with us. We immediately took him to our doctor and he was terribly underweight and also under-nourished. He advised us not to send him to camp with the school June 10th, but to keep him home for a month, build him up and then take him to camp.”
