This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of January, 1936, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [1192], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Jack Tobin, Jr.]

Time of Reading 10:40 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. L.I., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [758]; this we have had before.

  2. There are many changes in the general physical forces of the body from that as we have had here before.

  3. As we find, MANY changes are for the improvement of the GENERAL condition.

  4. Still there are some influences and forces lacking that are necessary for that complete coordination.

  5. As we find, there have been such influences in the system that, unless there are precautions or measures taken for the proper assimilation and elimination of the EFFECTS of these conditions, there will be some detrimental effects from same.

  6. For, with the activity of influences from without, as of the pressure that has been produced by injections that MAKE FOR pressures along the cerebro-spinal cord, there is the effect as of producing AGE upon the cord itself.

  7. These effects are to cause pressures to be indicated in the locomotory centers, specific. Or they MAY, without their proper distribution or assimilation for elimination, cause effect upon ORGANS - if these pressures remain or become localized about ganglia along the cerebrospinal system.

  8. In the present these affect rather the LUMBAR or the lower axis. Hence we find stiffness, heaviness in the lower limbs, and the inability - as it were - for the muscular forces in the lumbar area to COORDINATE with the rest of the vertebrae movement in activity along the system.

  9. These are, in fact, as we find, along the area that we have so often indicated as being where the distress was first caused - in the presentation of the body during the period of birth, and the continued effect of astringents or adhesions or lesions that dealt with the coordination between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system.

  10. Hence the reactions MIGHT, if these were to turn in that direction, bring about more of the spasmodic conditions; or they may revert to more of the rheumatic effect - or cause a partial paralysis through locomotories.

  11. However, as we find, if there are the proper precautions taken - with the BENEFIT of the MOVEMENT that has been made taken advantage of, or the benefit that may be made by the applications to the system for that which might bring helpful or beneficial effects to the body - these might be turned into a helpful experience for the body; though rather a severe one - even with the greater or better precautions.

  12. Then, as we find, in the present:

  13. We would make the applications of the Wet Cell Appliance, or the low form of the electrical vibrations carrying one day the Spirits of Camphor (full Strength), the next day the Chloride of Gold solution (in the proportion of one minim to half an ounce of water, or two minims to an ounce of water - DISTILLED water). These vibrations would be given each day, for twenty to thirty minutes; not longer. The attachments would be made as follows: The copper plate would be attached first, to the lumbar area (4th lumbar). The larger nickel plate, passing through the solution, would be attached last, over or about the caecum area - rather in the lacteal duct area specific, that is in a cord that is in association or connection with the caecum (or the ileum plexus as it would be called from the cerebrospinal system).

  14. At least three times a week, or every other day, we would have a massage - osteopathically given - that would make for assimilations, drainages, to all portions of the system. Not too much manipulation to the cervical and upper dorsal, but more in coordinating those centers from the 8th and 9th dorsal to the end of the spine. These are to set up DRAINAGES for the system. When corrections are made, let these be made in the coccyx center - and extending to the bursae of the feet, along the limbs; and this will aid in taking the pressure OFF of the body and in making for assimilations for eliminations’ sake through those effects that have been produced in the body. The arches are beneficial, but will be more effective if the manipulative forces are given as indicated; that there may be no lesions or adhesions in these areas.

  15. Keep the eliminations also through the alimentary canal.

  16. For at least twenty-eight to thirty-eight treatments, or until it is necessary for the recharging of the Appliance, we would keep these up. And then we would give the further suggestions. For the EFFECTS of these must be noted, and especially by the one administering the manipulations.

  17. Do these, and we may bring helpful conditions for this body, [758].

  18. We are through with this reading.
