GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for the improvement of same. You will give the specific condition of the lower right jaw, the gums and teeth, and the cause of the trouble on that side and what to do for same. You will answer any questions relative to this body that I will ask you.
-
EC: Now, we find the general physical conditions in the body improved from those when we had these here before. There are specific conditions in the teeth and in the nerve and muscular tissue of the face and neck, shoulders, that cause distress in the body. This is accentuated by the nerve strain under which the body labors at the present time, or has done in the past. The specific conditions, we find there are indications of the bacilli of pyorrhea in the lower back teeth, especially the second one from rear, one of molars. This we find produces the inflammation and irritation that affects the third and fourth nerve of the face, and this tooth would be better removed. This, however, could be saved, were the care and attention given same to destroy the nerve that is exposed and relieve the pressure as produced by pus being formed through the creating of the streptococci in the blood in the eliminating from this distressed condition. There is in the upper portion of the gums, near the front, some distress produced by the abrasion, or breaking of the process bone in which the tooth is embedded. This also produces distress. This may be relieved. This is one next to called eye tooth, in the front.
-
On the gum, near where the tooth was removed in the lower jaw, we find there the sore abrasion produced by inflammation from sympathetic condition in the teeth. These may be treated by the solution as prepared from this:
-
To 6 drams of Wild Prickly Ash Bark, [Simple formula for what later came to be known as Ipsab.] add 6 ounces of distilled water. Reduce to 1 ounce by simmering, and strain. Wash the barks before putting in for this reduction. Then, when strained and reduced, add common table salt until the solution takes up all that it will in producing saturated solution, adding to this 2 minims Tincture Iodine, with 1 minim Essence of Peppermint. Use this solution by rubbing the gums with finger, not with cloth or brush, getting in the sore or abrasion places, treating locally the condition in the teeth where the air breaks in to exposed nerves. This we find will reduce the condition.
-
Taking for the nerve stimulant, this:
To 2 ounces Tincture of Valerian
Bromide Potassium…30 grains, Iodide Potassium…15 grains, Elixir Calisaya…4 ounces, and add sufficient simple syrup to (or Peptotol or Whiskey) make the full amount of 8 - 10 - 12 ounces, taking teaspoonful every two hours until the relief.
-
Do this, and we will bring the better conditions to the body.
-
The inflammation as has been produced heretofore in the intestinal tract, in the liver, these we find much improved. Be careful of too much meats, for the body under the nerve strain, else we will produce these conditions again in system, for we have had a form of the colitis in intestinal tract, produced by so much inflammation eliminated without the proper drosses eliminated in system, [760].
-
(Q) What should be the local treatment for these teeth? (A) As given. Destroying the nerve in tooth and packing same, or filling same.
-
(Q) Should any of the teeth be taken out? (A) As given. Not necessary that this one be taken out, if treated properly. May be taken out and relieved quicker. May be relieved by standing the pain and treating, as given. We have given this.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 7/15/25 She obtained a Life Reading, 760-4, her son [1005] having already obtained one last summer.
R2. 5/21/26 She was present for her next Check Physical Reading, 760-5.
R3. 5/31/77 Report from A.R.E. Member Violet Kovacs: ”…Enclosed you will find my letter of testimony in the hope that it will help others who suffer from the same affliction I once had.
“I must confess that I went through periods of doubts and discouragement, but I remembered the words of Edgar Cayce advising PERSISTENCY and CONSISTENCY and that helped me to restore my faith in the treatment.
“Needless to say how fortunate I consider myself for having joined the A.R.E. and for the magnificent help I have received…”
R4. 5/31/77 Report by Violet Kovacs: ”…In November of 1973 I went to my dentist because my fixed bridge was very loose; (I didn’t know then that it was due to pyorrhea) but before going ahead with the removal of the bridge I wanted to consult an orthodontist to see if he could make a teeth implant where the bridge was, but to my shock, when he examined my teeth, he exclaimed: ‘Lady, you have bacteria in your mouth and if you don’t undergo a treatment that is long and expensive, you will lose all your teeth.’ I didn’t believe him and thought that he was exaggerating and that maybe I had a case of gingivitis; however, I wrote to the Cayce Association A.R.E.] and asked for a file on pyorrhea.
“In the meantime I made another appointment with another orthodontist in Miami and this time I was really shocked when he confirmed that I had an advanced case of pyorrhea. He referred me to another orthodontist in Clearwater, my home town. When I returned from Miami I visited orthodontist #3 (number three) and he told me that the treatment was long and expensive; at least $600.00. He gave me several appointments so far away and so distant between each other that if I had not been following the Cayce Ipsab treatment I might have lost my teeth before my first appointment!
“My dentist removed my bridge and I will never forget how much I cried that morning when I got home thinking that I was going to lose other teeth; but that same morning the file on pyorrhea arrived and filled me with hope and encouragement. I ordered the Ipsab right away and bought the Glyco-Thymoline at my local drugstore and started the treatment religiously morning and night.
“The first visit to the orthodontist was for X-rays and at the second visit I was told how to clean my teeth after each meal with dental floss; of course, I didn’t follow his advice and kept Cayce’s method. Then he told me that I had to have five teeth removed, but when I objected he was very upset and told me that if I didn’t follow his advice he would give me my money back. When I confessed to him that I was a member of the Edgar Cayce Society [A.R.E.] and that I wanted to give the Cayce treatment a chance before extracting my teeth, he gave me a few months and after I visited him again, he said that my gum tissues looked healthy, but then at the next visit he wanted to go ahead with the surgery and gave me several new appointments.
“In the meantime, I went to my hygienist to have my teeth cleaned and when she saw my teeth she opened her eyes wide and exclaimed: ‘Oh, my God, your gums look so healthy!’ She remembered the last time she cleaned my teeth, how much I bled, she was really astonished! This encouraged me to cancel my appointments with the orthodontist and not to go ahead with the surgery.
“Over a year had gone by and it was time for our vacation in Europe. While in England we visited a friend that was a dental surgeon. When he examined my mouth he said that he had never seen such immaculate, clean teeth. He spotted though, a focal point of infection deep in the gum where the Ipsab could not reach; a five minute operation took care of it and that was the end of my pyorrhea. I still use Ipsab about once a week for prevention. Note: After returning home I got my down payment back from my orthodontist.”
