1. GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the Universe, and the Universal Forces, giving the conditions that are as personalities, latent and exhibited, in the present life. Also the former appearances in the earth’s plane, giving time, place, and the name, and that in that life which built or retarded the development for the entity, giving the abilities of the present entity and to that which it may attain, and how.

2. EC: Yes, we have the entity here, and those relations with the Universe and Universal Forces, as are latent and exhibited in the present earth’s plane, with those influences that bring about these urges, these conditions in the entity, with the influence of the astrological forces, or planes through which the entity passed in reaching this.

3. In the entering then, we find many conditions as are apparent and exhibited in the present earth plane from those conditions as come from existent conditions in others. The entering then, as we find, as these:

4. Under the influence of Pisces, with Jupiter, Neptune, Mars and Venus. Then we have those of these urges, as latent and as exhibited, in the present earth plane:

5. One we find of the highest ennobling influences in the life of others, rather than of self. One that gives a great deal more influence of good in the lives of others than is felt within self’s influence. One who is termed by many as being the incarnation of all ennobling in the lives of those whom the entity contacts, yet bringing to self and to self’s own relation many conditions that are only an accentuation of the good and ennobling influences brought to others.

6. One whom we find many of the mystic influence, unaccountable even to self, of the influence had over others.

7. One we find who is and shows capacity in any line of endeavor, especially in that of any pertaining to the artistic ability, and the entity would and could have made a success (as world knows success) in any branch, either as teacher or as commercial artiste.

8. One we find who gives much of self in every way toward assisting others. This coming then, as we find, from the ennobling influence as is found in Jupiterian forces.

9. One that we find, seeming, though giving much to others, rather draws for self those conditions that to individual is unsatisfactory.

10. One that will lend much to the development of the foundation of truth as is found in mystic forces, especially pertaining to occult, in the assistance lent in same to the physical assistance to individuals. One who would have made a wonderful nurse. One whose abilities to sympathize with anyone, under any condition, reaches far into that field of the attraction for others.

11. As to appearances, these we find have much to do with the various and varied conditions as are manifest and exhibited in the present life.

12. In the one, then, before this, we find in that of the Queen who was beheaded, in that of Marie Theresa, or Marie Antoinette, as known in the historic forces, and in that we find both development and the retarding, for the beginning of the force as exercised in that plane brought much good and much bad to many people, and all must be met in the earth’s plane, for save through that do we reach that force as is found in why the Master entered the earth’s plane.

13. In the one before this, we find in the Grecian forces, during the days when the rule of the peoples were being turned toward the expansion of the then known rule in the world, or that portion of same. Then in the name of Airdarel, and the companion, in the household, of then Xenophon [[2903]? [2903] her brother at present. See niece’s Check-Life reading 538-59, Par. 22-A indicating that [538]‘s then Grecian mother, Xantippe, wife of Socrates, was a seamstress for [760] in the household of Xenophon.] in the rule of the people, and assisted in keeping that ruler in the way that brought the best to the peoples. In that we find the entity developed, and the influence as we see in the present of the ability to advise and to gain the hearing, as it were, when others fail. In the abilities of the entity at that time, much may be discovered yet as pertaining to these, for the writings of same are preserved in some of the destroyed cities in that place.

14. In the one before this, we find in the Egyptian forces, when the greater laws were being given, and during the reign of the second of that rule, wherein the greater civilization of earth’s people were being exhibited and the first temples being built. Ra-Ta Period] The entity then in that of Usisso, and in the Temple worship, for the entity then the daughter of the first King of that rule, a brother being the ruler [341] who gave the greater rule to the peoples. The entity then giving much to the people, and the desire to preserve relics, old and new, of the desire to preserve the best for the worship of every nature, whether in family, friendship, or in the higher oracles, giving of the best; yet ever afar in some manners from a show of ecclesiastical worship. The urges also show in the artistic abilities, and the ability to design of every character, anew, as it were, from others, for much of the Temple decorations in that day were of the mind of this entity. The desire also to seek out such, see?

15. In the one before this, we find in the Peruvian country, when the Ohlms [?] [Aymaras - See 4/29/77 GD’s note in 4292-1 Reports re prehistoric Aymaran Indians of Peru.] were in the rule, and the entity then in that of Dolrhales, and the entity gave much to the degradations of the people who rebelled against to the rule, and this brought the condemnations to the individual, for this entity then sought to destroy that being built in the minds of the people towards service to the highest then as was given.

16. As to the abilities in the present plane, these, as given, would succeed in a two-fold way and manner. The greatest will come through the home and the building of the friendships in and through relation with the elements of the occult and mystic forces coming from Neptune, with Mars, though these bring much troubles at times.

17. Then, in using all, give this as account unto self: In every age, in every clime, is the attempt to manifest the God force as is manifest in each individual, and the giving of self as the channel of experience to that element that will give the better manifestation of same to His people, is the highest service in all. Then, study to show self approved unto Him, and the coming of the Lord will be sure and certain within the confines of the individual self, for as same is manifested through self, same becomes acceptable unto Him, for as we are seen and known of men, as the way is the manifestation of Him, of Him we are known.

R2. 8/11/27 EC’s letter to Mrs. [760] who was at the time being considered for the position as matron of the Cayce Hospital when completed:

”…Dr. House, I am sure, was talking over with you what was done at the meeting, and showed you possibly the plans we had thought of at that time. Since having the lot staked off, and going into the matter with the architect, I am of the opinion that it is better to change plans to something of this nature. I’d like to have your ideas, and I am ASKING for your suggestions as to any changes you would make, and especially would I like to have your idea as to SPECIFICATIONS regarding openings, storerooms, and such. The rooms have been left without closets - that is, the hospital rooms, with the idea of using furniture which would have one piece that would be the wardrobe and dresser - which is very much cheaper, and will give more room in each room - if we have sufficient closets in the halls. The boiler room, hydrotherapy and X-Ray room, would be in basement on the east end, according to these plans. Be sure and either have Dr. House come over and talk with you, or you make such notations before you send them to him, WITH your notations of suggestions. You will see I have suggested the dining room be made at least 16’ X 20’. Do you think this sufficient? Or should it be changed so that you would have two dining rooms? We want to have a pretty good storage room, with the frigidaire arrangement. Make notation as to where you think this should be put in. Also as to how entrances would be made to the dining room, or dining rooms, from your quarters. Should there not be at least second story porch on the front, if not all the way round as the lower porch is? The grade on the lot is such that it is hard to figure out the best plan - I only wish you could see it before definite decision is made, but - if you will notice - the grade on the drawing (where the perspective is shown) it will give you some idea of what the grade is. Then if you will consider that we have practically the same grade toward the front, you will have an idea of what we have to consider. We HOPE that you will be able to send these back real soon, for we want to be able to let the contract on the 3rd, so we will have to have plans and specifications submitted to contractors for bids and let bids be opened on that day - so you see we’re going to have to hurry…”

R3. 8/21/27 Mrs. [760]‘s reply to EC:

”…First, I think the rooming capacity is too small to make expenses. By all means there should be TWO wards, male and female, for people who can’t pay for private rooms and, too, seems like much valuable floor space is taken up in bathrooms. Really, I do think the architect had poor idea of ventilation and conveniences for a hospital. I certainly wouldn’t have the two bathrooms at each end of the hall on second floor, but windows for a free circulation of air and in my judgement, each room should have a door opening into the hall. No. 8 is the only room you could take a patient in on a stretcher, absolutely no way of turning through the other doors. Why couldn’t the ell extend back two-story, using part for one dormitory or wide enough for the two dormitories, with the service room necessary to a hospital, and diet kitchen. The service room is used for medicine, surgical supplies, instruments, etc., charts; the diet kitchen to have electric plate to heat food, prepare drinks, fix water, certain amount of dishes, glasses, spoons, waiters, etc., kept there - saves time, steps and help. If the house is not built with an elevator, should there not be a place made to put one in later? And there should be a dumbwaiter, or elevator, from the kitchen to the second floor to send food up on; that to open into the diet kitchen upstairs. I sure wish I was there, for you know I am poor at explaining my ideas on paper. Don’t you think it would be better to put that toilet in the basement? The storage - have plenty of room - and let the frigidaire arrangement open into the pantry, or better still, open into the room marked toilet with door opening into that from the dining room and the dumbwaiter coming down into that, with an opening into the kitchen to put food on the dumbwaiter, at the same time put anything on it we may want out of the cold storage; a window where the door is going out on the porch. Or if the storage could be put over on the side, the frigidaire arrangement in the center, so it could open into the pantry, I believe that would be better. 16’ X 20’ gives room for two tables in the dining room if we need it. Would rather use one dining room and have more room to live in. You couldn’t get a double bed, dresser, cedar chest, machine and two chairs in one of those bedrooms on the first floor to save your life, with no closet to hang anything up. Have a door in each room leading into the hall and a passage between the two rooms with a big closet out to the hall. The rooms extending back to the wall between the dining room and lounge, a door could be put on the bedroom right at the dining room door and make it more convenient. I certainly do think the porch to the second story would be nice and should have a sun parlor with heat for winter. The porch would make the rooms a lot cooler.

“I don’t know whether you can tell heads or tails to this letter. […] and [852] are scrapping, [1508] playing the victrola, and everybody talking at the same time. Miss […] is away on a three weeks vacation and I have had to take her place [at the State hospital]; look after, make the rounds, keep up material, keep busy the heads of four departments that make the industrial department and I have sure had my hands full - walk to and from work, on my feet most of the day. Has made it kind of hard on me. We had the Board part of this week which caused extra work, so I feel pretty tired today…”

R4. 7/25/29 HISTORICAL DATA and CONNECTIONS of Mrs. [760]:

Being a treatise on the entity’s relations and relationships with the various officers and trustees of the Association of National Investigators, Inc., and the employees of the Cayce Hospital.

In the experiences of this entity we find a wide divergence, a varied and consummate career, a range of occupation and ideals from the high to the low, the extravagant to the simple, the magnificent to the humble. Studying the urges and ambitions, the gain and the loss, it seems the better has endured, the vain ambitions been quelled, the ideal emerged alone in this life. Keep the ideal, life has nothing better than that.

FIRST APPEARANCE - PERU:

“Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s.” [Matthew 22:21]

760-4, Par. 15:

Dolrhales, gave much to the degradations of the people who rebelled against the rule, and this brought condemnations to the individual, for this entity then sought to destroy that being built in the minds of the people towards service then given to the highest.

760-4, Par. 15:

This was in the rule of the Ohms, [?] [Aymaras - See 4/29/77 GD’s note in 4292-1 Reports re prehistoric Aymaran Indians of Peru.] where appeared many of the Association members, but only one in whom the entity is now closely related, that being Mr. [[2903] your present brother]. At that time he was next to the ruler, and gained much in serving the people. There was a geological disturbance at the time which destroyed many of the people, and after that the Incas overran the land. In the rule of the Incas appeared [1005], your son, [in the present] as a priest. It is not probable that these two were associated, and if so, it could not have been in an intimate or even friendly way.

This period represents a dead loss in the entity’s development. There are not even valuable connections, and no gain in self. Beware of the urge to destroy the dreams of others, the little whims and fancies, the daydreams of youth

• by reminding of the realities of life. If you must do it, be gentle and kind, not impatient with the attitude as will be found, for the temper of the Marie Antoinette appearance [760-4, Par. 12] may join with this urge at times to become a destructive force of realism.

SECOND APPEARANCE - EGYPT:

“In my Father’s house are many mansions, and I go to prepare the way.” John 14:2]

760-4, Par. 14:

Usisso, daughter of the first king [165] and sister of the younger king [341] who gave the greater rule to the peoples. Gave much to peoples. Present desire to preserve relics, old and new; to preserve the best for the worship of every nature, whether in family friendship, or in the higher oracles, giving of the best; yet ever afar in some manners from a show of ecclesiastical worship. Urges also in artistic ability; ability to design of every character, anew, as it were, from others, for much of the Temple decorations in that day were of the mind of this entity. 760-4, Par. 14:

This is the period of contacts, when those that are gathered here in the Association today were together in a great dynasty. The urges of this period are the dominant urges of today for those associated in the work, for in bringing together again these people, we bring to the surface those urges. The entity gained much, and had a fortunate friendship with everyone of the period.

In the present we find the entity in the exact position occupied in Egypt, and in this position will be found the greatest outlet for the talents and urges, and the greatest chance for advancement of the mind and spirit - in doing for others what the entity is best able to perform.

From this period Dr. [5618] [present husband] is enabled to keep peace and harmony between the factions, and this is also a potential ability of the entity. Work with Dr. [5618] for this, both in an unobtrusive way, and much good will be done.

THIRD APPEARANCE - GREECE:

“Moderation in all things is most to be desired in life.” Socrates.

760-4, Par. 13:

Airdarel, the companion and in the household of Xenophon, assisting in keeping that ruler in the way that brought the best to the people. In that developed. Present ability to advise and to get the hearing when others fail.

760-4, Par. 13:

Here again is a period of gain, and a strengthening of that urge of the home and the mother. Also the beginning of that urge to aid and help the men loved by the entity, inspiring them and keeping them in the right course.

(Xenophon, 430-355 B.C., was a Greek historian and philosophical writer, native of Athens and a pupil of Socrates. In 401 B.C. he joined the expedition of Cyrus the Younger, and has told the story of it in his Anabasis. When the Greek officers were murdered through treachery of the Persian satrap Tissaphernes, Xenophon brought the Greek troops safely to Trapezus, on the Black Sea. When they were taken in Lacedaemonian Bay, Xenophon left and returned to Athens. Soon afterward he was banished, probably because of his Spartan sympathies. Eventually he settled at Scillus, near Olympia; but about twenty years later he retired to Corinth. In 369 B.C. his banishment was revoked.)

This entity was Mr. [2903], [[760], your present brother] and the closeness of their relationship there continues in the blood at present, as brother and sister.

(Socrates 469-399 B.C., was the greatest of Greek philosophers. He was born at Athens and served in several Athenian armies. He is known through the writings of his pupil Plato, who recorded the conversations by which he taught. He was tried and condemned to death in 399 B.C. on a charge of corrupting the youth of Athens by his teachings. He drank the hemlock, and died very peacefully, with a marvelous display of courage.)

Mrs. [538] then [now Mrs. [760]‘s niece] was Normaline, the second daughter of Socrates. The philosopher did not get on very well with his family, as he did not work and failed to support the family. He was also lacking in prophylaxis at times, and paid no attention to the constant bickering of his wife and daughters. His wife’s reputation was hardly unsplotched, and there is little to recommend his daughters.

Mr. [419], [now [760]‘s nephew] appeared in this period, and was of the Greek artistic group, losing much in later life through misuse of power.

FOURTH APPEARANCE - FRANCE:

“Le Roi est mort, Vive le Roi!” [The king is dead, long live the king]

760-4, Par. 12:

Marie Antoinette, developing and retarding; for the beginning of the force as exercised in that plane brought much good and much bad to many people, and all must be met in earth’s plane, for save through that do we reach why the Master came into the earth.

760-4, Par. 12:

Here the detrimental urge of the Peruvian period came out again and was strengthened - that is - the maltreatment of the lower classes of people. The urges of this period are good and bad, and the bad urges are the sublimated, unconscious ones that never come to the surface of the mind. The carriage, the attitude, the bearing and facial expression in the present are those of the Queen, the ruler. This impresses some. Then there is the temper at times, but the most of this period’s urges are joined with that of the Egyptian and Greek periods, being the desire and ability to help those loved, especially men, to aid their careers and help them with their work, at the same time making the home life beautiful and attractive.

(Marie Antoinette (1753-93), the Queen of France, wife of Louis XVI, and daughter of Francis I and Marie Theresa, was born at Vienna Nov. 2, the day of the Lisbon earthquake. Her influence over Louis XVI was great but profitless. She thwarted him in his wish to yield reform and urged him to absolutism. She was blamed for the extravagance of her predecessors as well as her own. Disliked by the courtiers, hated for her favors to the Princess Lamballe (whose head was flourished before her prison window) and the Duchess de Polignac, held responsible for dismissing Necker and Turgot from office and summoning Lomenia de Brienne and Calonne in their stead, basely besmirched in reputation and stung at heart by the affair of the diamond necklace (1785), she by her unpopularity helped to bring the ruin of the royal house. Still she faced the mob of women at Versailles (Oct. 5 and 6) with splendid courage; and after the flight to Varennes (1791) she accompanied Louis to the Assembly, and later to the temple, where her fortitude and bravery equalled her previous bravery.

Accused before the revolutionary tribunal of intriguing with the enemies of France and stirring up war she was condemned and executed (Oct. 16, 1793).

(Louis XVI, (1754-93), grandson of Louis XV, was left with the legacy of Louis XV ‘s misgovernment. On coming to the throne in 1774, his first act was to form a reforming committee, containing Malesherbee Vergenes and the great Turgot. For less than two years Turgot was allowed to work at his scheme of reforms, the adoption of which might have averted the revolution. He was overthrown through the opposition of the Queen, Marie Antoinette. Turgot was succeeded by Necker, Calonne, and Lomenie de Brienne, but no further attempts at a thorough reformation of the system of government were made. In 1778 France entered into the war between England and the United States, and gave invaluable assistance to the colonies in their struggle. In 1791 Louis accepted a new constitution; but he was by this time hopelessly alienated from the government of his day, and was looking for foreign intervention as the only salvation. This provoked the invasion of the Tuilleries on June 20, 1792, and the storming of that palace on August 10th. The monarchy was immediately suspended. The king was brought to trial, found guilty, and beheaded on Jan. 21, 1793. Louis was a weak, stupid, well-meaning man, utterly unsuited by his lethargy and want of dignity to rule over the French, who love of all things a “roi a cheval.” [Translation: King on a horse]

This entity was Dr. [5618] [Mrs. [760]‘s present husband] and the close connection is seen today. Again the entity Mrs. [760] would aid and assist when the Dr. is weaker, but the urge of power is gone, leaving the urge high-minded and good.

The son now, [1005], then was the son of the entity [760] and Dr. [5618], being the eldest son and heir to the throne - the Dauphin. He suffered greatly, and died at the age of fifteen. From this exclusion from the pleasures of life he gets the call to fun and play; and from thus losing the child then comes the even greater than mother-love for him by the entity [760] in this life. These three are very, very close to each other now, for then they were torn apart, oppressed, treated with every cruelty, and finally put to death. With the lesson misapplication of power learned, they now have the ability and desire to do great good for mankind, and they can, and will.

There were others in the periods about this time, but all before or after, and in the years of poignant grief these three were alone - so far as entities now gathered here are concerned.

Now we come to the end of the appearances, and find one who has lived in high and low stations, wielded power for good and evil, loved and hated, killed and been killed. One innately experienced with the foibles and foolishness of riches and desire, and understanding the real values of life.

As in Egypt, so now - stay true to the ideal, and in the present position will be found the greatest opportunity for doing good and advancing through the attaining of the ideal.

Only remember that power has been had, and misused, and that through the living down of such can the communion with God be attained.

Serve in thy position well, aid those of thy family, and the ideal will stay always clear, and be achieved. For only in service and sacrifice can the Kingdom of God be won.

As to the relationships then:

Mr. [900], in Egypt was scribe and interpreter, and very close to the king, [then [341]] brother of the entity [760]. Then there was close and friendly association here, and such should be the urge now. There were no contacts in other appearances.

Mr. [195] was head builder in Egypt, with [419] as associate. He later appeared in France, earlier than the entity, but in the same court atmosphere. These urges are all friendly and harmonious.

Mr. [953] was met only in Egypt, where he was a sage. He is antagonistic to many of the Board, but not to the entity [760] or the entity’s family.

Mr. [137] was not met [by [760]] before this present appearance. He is highly developed and close to the universal forces, being in harmony with all and understanding each.

Mr. [257] as a follower of the banished priest [294] carries over an urge for the entity [760] of slight antagonism. Think before you judge and condemn. Try to work in harmony and understanding.

Nephew [341], now, was brother to the entity [760] as king in Egypt. He is very close now, as he was then.

Mr. [2694] - was in Egypt with the entity’s [760]‘s forces, and a go-between and reconciler. The urge should be good, though [2694] has lost at times and may forget the ideals and ideas of the work. Very amiable, however, and should never be troublesome.

Edgar Cayce [294] as the banished priest in Egypt may have had the same unfriendly urge in the past - not now.

Miss [288] as the child of the banished priest [294] and his second wife [538] could elicit only sympathy and love from the entity.

Mrs. [136], now wife of [900], was in Egypt as companion of [900] and was closely associated with the entity [760] there. Now, there should be a harmony, if Mrs. [136] can overcome the negative urges she acquired later, which are now keeping her from understanding in full and sympathizing with the work. Approach her from a practical angle.

Mrs. [538] was met in Egypt and Greece, neither perhaps under very harmonious circumstances, but understanding as she does now, and as the entity does, there is no need to watch the urge. Do not let the temper become aroused over trifles.

Mr. [165] was the father of the entity [760] in Egypt. He was not met again until this life. In the meantime he has developed antagonism for several of the Board, and as yet does not fully understand the work, but as with [953], so with [165], he is friendly to the entity [760] and the entity’s family.

Mrs. [903] has not been met before [by [760]] in this life. Consider her as acting in accord with [257], and as a home-loving woman whom the entity can understand and sympathize with.

Dr. [204] was met in Egypt, where he appeared as a teacher and interpreter. The relation was friendly, though not close, and will be as such now.

Dr. [5618] needs the aid the entity [760] can and has given. Do not overdo the attention as in the French period, or tyrranize as was done then. With him can the entity combine to attain the ideals of each - here, in this work. Do that.

Son [1005] is closer than a son - being twice a son. Read his Life reading carefully, and help him attain the career he is best suited for.

Nephew [419] - will do well in the line he has chosen now, or better as a commercial artist. He was met [by [760]] only in Egypt, as a builder and associate in the family of the king.

Mr. [849] was met in Egypt, being a native rebel who after his defeat was turned to the right teaching and became an amicable citizen. Now he rebels at most anything except love and friendship.

Mrs. [5673], was nurse and helper of the sick in Egypt and although not closely connected with the entity, [760] should have a sympathetic urge.

Mr. [5453] was in Egypt, not closely, but sympathetically related.

So it is seen that all are in sympathy with the entity, and all are friendly. Then with the Dr. [5618] in this position at present, aid in keeping harmony in the Board, and do the work as the ideal calls, and all will be well.

R5. Winter of 1934-35 Notes by Hugh Lynn Cayce in preparing a study of Life readings:

“Dr. [5618], Mrs. [760] and their son [1005] represent not only a group of historical characters but also a family whose relationship in the present is the same as one of the appearances (French). These should be studied in relation to the influences of other appearances upon both the French and the present. Have they been drawn together before, what development or retarding influence brought about the French period and what influence does same play in the present? From these three readings one of the most interesting questions raised by reincarnation may be answered: What brings about family or group association from period to period?

“Miss [23] and young [1005] will doubtless become man and wife. Why?”

Regal bearing - sort of a QUEEN of a big family; the last word on any decision of importance in the family.

Taught art in an insane asylum; married to an M.D.

Did many paintings; collected old silver and linens, furniture, etc.

When she died, she left trunks of elaborately embroidered linens. All her life, since a very young girl, she never sat down even for a few minutes without picking up her embroidery.

When traveling by train would never go from one car to another; couldn’t stand the rumbling noise, etc. (Could this be a throw-back to the ride to her death over cobblestones, etc.?)
