This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of September, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [777], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [777]; this we have had before.

  2. As we find, conditions are quite a bit improved in the physical manner from that as we have had here before.

  3. While there have been the adjustments in the cerebrospinal system as we have indicated, these conditions being of long standing - naturally, through the general activities - tend to at times revert to their old order.

  4. Hence, as we find, it would be well for the body to continue occasionally to have the adjustments. WE would prefer these osteopathically, for then coordination is made in the other centers to make for their concerted activity. Make these adjustments, though, specifically in the dorsal area - from the 3rd, 4th and to the 8th and 9th dorsal. These should be rather from the left to the right (that is, the body on the left side, to the right, you see); so that - as the muscular reactions are made from these adjustments - there will be the releasing of those tendencies for the lack of nutriment or nerve supply to the digestive system.

  5. Such treatments would be once a week, or take them twice a week for a couple of weeks and then leave them off two or three weeks before taking them again. In this manner there is kept rather a normal reaction.

  6. Be mindful concerning the diets that have been indicated.

  7. For those conditions that have become rather as habits, and those tendencies or necessities for the body to use the eliminants - or those things that tend to make for the flow of the gastric forces or the peristaltic movement through the intestinal system (for we find that much of this is habit, and the body, the system, has come to depend upon cathartics), we would create for the system that which will cooperate in making for better coordination with the adjustments and treatments as indicated. Then, we would give these - in this way and manner:

  8. Each day for a week we would EAT - with the morning meal - the Psyllium Seed (preferably the blond). Stir a tablespoonful in hot water and allow it to congeal or cool, and eat WITH the morning meal.

  9. The next week, leave off the Psyllium and take this:

  10. Thirty to thirty-five minutes BEFORE the morning meal is taken, take a level teaspoonful of salt (table salt) stirred in a full glass of water that is at the temperature of 98 or 99; no colder, no hoter; no more salt than this quantity. And do not take it twenty or twenty-five minutes before breakfast, but THIRTY to thirty-five minutes before - and this does not mean forty-five nor fifty minutes, but THIRTY to THIRTY-FIVE! During any period of taking this, should it make for nausea, then lie down after taking.

  11. Then MAKE for a self a regular period, after the morning meal, for the evacuation or for going to stool, see? Let this be as a habit. Let this be taking the place of the cathartics and the like.

  12. After these properties are taken, one for one week and one for the next, then leave off (that is, do not take either) for one week.

  13. Then begin again with the Psyllium Seed first for one week, and then the Salt for one week - taken at the proper temperature, and the proper time and the proper dosage.

  14. Keep these up for three to four rounds of each of these, in the order given, and we should find these general conditions that have existed - from toxins and accumulations in the system, tendencies for the heaviness, tendencies for the over amount of fat to accumulate in portions where it shouldn’t, poor circulation in the feet, the head and hands, those conditions that accumulate for the eyes and face - these would gradually disappear; and we will bring much bettered conditions.

  15. Do that.

  16. Ready for questions.

  17. (Q) Should the hot vapor baths recommended in first reading be continued? (A) These are helpful if sufficient TIME is taken after same for a good workout; that is, exercises, and plenty of time for the COOLING of the body afterwards. These are GOOD, and would be well to keep for the time being. Taken once or twice a month should be sufficient to keep the poisons worked out of the system, WHILE the other conditions are having their effect upon the circulation; that is, the activity of the lymph flow through the gastric forces of the intestinal tract and intestinal system, the alleviating of pressures in those areas that have allowed or tended to make for the lack of drainages being set up through the alimentary canal.

  18. We are through for the present.
