This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 4th day of August, 1924, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [8].

1. LS: Please give in detail the vocation at the present time for which this body is most adapted, giving manner, time and place in making the proper connection that would insure which is best for this body.

2. EC: As has been given, in this we find that those conditions that have to do with detail work regarding any proposition, kind, nature or character, is that best fitted for the endeavors of this entity, and the character of work is of the nature that will give the most pleasing surroundings for this entity, [8], we are speaking of, and any character of work under which this would be the entity’s forces expended in would be that best suited, and the vocation for which the entity would find the developing in this earth’s plane. As to how these associations, these connections, may be made, as we find, there have been, there will be, propositions presented to this entity for consideration, as is given from the conditions as have existed and do exist. This is the character of the endeavors that should be entertained by this entity, for the peace of the entity’s mental forces and for the best development. As to where and who such connections will be made, this is the entity’s will that should be expended, knowing and with the knowledge that such conditions will bring the best efforts and will be that which will prove most satisfactory in the spiritual, in the mental and in the financial way.

3. (Q) Please give such other information as would guide this entity to success and bring forth the best in him for himself and those depending upon him. (A) As we have given, the efforts, the expending of self and self’s endeavors, must be in that way and manner as has been given, if we would bring the best to this body, this entity; ever keeping in the foreknowledge of these conditions that that expended of self in this manner, as given, will bring the greater returns in every manner for self and for those who are depending upon this entity’s endeavors. As to specific connections, specific conditions, these must of necessity from these conditions and positions be classified, be determined, within the entity’s mental and will forces in himself. As has been given in times back, the greater knowledge of the detail work in any undertaking is that source through which the endeavors of this entity should be classed and manifested.

Now, we find that there are many channels through which such endeavors may be expended. There are many various phases of such detail work. Not necessary that he should follow in the same channels as have formerly been expended in. Rather with the influences as have been given. With those influences as we find come with Venus and Jupiter’s forces be the ruling factor in same. That is, those ennobling influences, those high ideals as are given through the influence of Jupiter’s forces, with the love, the benevolence, the fullness of the inner spiritual nature. These would be better expended than that of purely the material forces. Not that the forces do not get the expending of self is necessary for physical and material things of the earthly forces, yet these, as we find, must come from the inner self, and will be changed greatly from those that have been expanded heretofore.

B1. 7/10/24 Letter on stationery which seemed to indicate Mr. [8] was representing a firm distributing and contracting for stucco and flooring:

“It is with the highest regard and utmost care that I have drafted the enclosed questions for a reading. I am submitting same for your approval to add or to revise to get the best results.

“Frankly speaking I feel the time has come for me to correct my vocation and with your aid which will give me the knowledge my will, soul and spirit will do its duty. Please give this matter your careful consideration and help me solve this problem. I must make good for my two sisters’ sake, even if my life must be sacrificed, and I love it dearly. I am also enclosing a letter from my sister who takes care of my blind sister [9], which I received yesterday, and you can readily see why I am asking and appealing to you for assistance.” [Questions are included in 8-3.]
