GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes - we have the body, [843]; this we have had before.
-
Many changes, and many conditions that have existed in the body, are contributory to the acute conditions which have existed, and that do in a modified manner exist in the body at present.
-
The circulation between heart, lungs and liver is the source of the pain; while the causes arise more from the circulation through the abdominal area and kidneys.
-
Hence we have a blocking condition, or a heavy pain through the lung or breast or heart area at times.
-
This is not necessarily an acute heart disorder, but is a functional condition of the general circulation.
-
As soon as it is practical, or as soon as the body is able to be moved, - there should be the rest AND the use of the Radio-Active Appliance as an equalizer of the circulation. Do not use an Appliance that has been used by someone else, but have same prepared for this body.
-
Be mindful that there is not too violent an exercise, until a better equilibrium has been gained, and the circulation is more normal in the upper and lower portions of the body.
-
But we would be sure that there are sufficient of the colonic irrigations that the body is kept purified, so far as the conditions through colon and alimentary canal are concerned.
-
Do keep away from any sort of sedatives. It may be necessary for some stimuli for heart, yes - but this should be of the very mildest form or nature; and the digital instead of digitol for this body would be preferable, - this, of course, administered only under the direction or supervision of a physician.
-
Massage daily along the spine from the area between the shoulders downward will be beneficial; this given after the use of the Appliance for an hour each day would be the more beneficial.
-
Do not eat fats of any nature. A vegetable diet is preferable to one of meats or sweets. Fruits and vegetables are preferable.
-
These should aid the body the more.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What caused or brought about the present attack? (A) Blocking of the circulation between heart, liver, lungs and kidneys.
-
(Q) How may I avoid it again? (A) Be mindful as to the diets, keeping away from fats, of vegetables cooked in lots of grease or fats, and being mindful as to the general activities of body.
-
(Q) Are my teeth causing any of the trouble? (A) The teeth are a contributory cause, but not the whole cause.
-
(Q) Should I have any of them extracted? (A) We would have them X-rayed, and those indicating pus or decay, remove.
-
(Q) Are there any other factors responsible for my present physical condition? (A) As indicated, the circulation between liver and kidneys is the basic factor; and this has cut off, as it were, the circulations from being equalized through the body - thus causing a full flow, or an expanding in the quantity of blood in lung and heart, and not sufficient being carried through the central circulation, through liver and kidneys. Thus poisons that should be distributed nominally through the eliminations of these have been blocking the body, see?
-
(Q) How often and how long at a period should the Radio- Active Appliance be used? (A) For an hour each day, for at least ten days, - then leave off for five days, and then begin again - and so on - until equilibrium has been established. But be sure there is the massage after same, also the carefulness as to the diet.
-
(Q) Is it possible for me to work again, or is my condition as critical as given by doctors’ diagnosis? (A) Which does the body desire to do? To retire and not be active? As we find, the body may do that it really desires to do - if it acts like it!!
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 5/21/43 Sister [264]‘s letter: “There are no words to express the gratitude I have for you giving [843] that reading - and we are so relieved that he really does not have a serious heart condition.”
R2. 5/26/43 Sister [678]‘s letter:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
The Reading came this afternoon and it looks like a very good one. I feel sure [843] will be greatly benefited by using the reading - I shall now write to [843] and ask him if he has that Radio Active and see if he can get it exchanged for one that has not been used on any one else as the information said.
May I ask you, if you think the stone in the tube leading from the kidney to the bladder is still there? The first thing the Reading said was that many conditions that have existed, do in a modified manner exist in the body at present.
Probably he should have asked the condition of the ureter which the Reading said some time ago had a stone.
Mother [851] and I wish so much that [843] could come here to REST when he leaves the hospital, but he says he can get the man who is working with him to continue the work, and in that way help make some money to pay some of the many bills which have been made since he has been ill in the hospital.
Any way, mother [851] is planning to go to Asheville as soon as he gets there and she will try to have the Reading carried out. It’s such a comfort to mother & me to have a Reading for [843], for we would have to advise him any way, and it’s wonderful to have the benefit of this information. Then we KNOW we are advising the right thing. Again thanking you for helping us.
Very Sincerely [678]
R3. 5/28/43 EC’s letter to Mrs. [678]: “Glad the reading arrived all OK, sure wish it were so he could come there for you to see that he got the correct treatments. Do not think the stone if there is of such nature to trouble very much at present, else would have said more about it feel sure.
If he has the appliance send it to Mr. Godfrey and he will make it new for him, whether he can get the material for others do not know, guess he can or it would not have given it.
Thank you very much for your confidence - certainly are having some nice letters from many people, so must be helping some.
Thanking you and with every good wish
Sincerely Edgar Cayce
R4. 6/18/43 Mrs. [678]‘s letter reporting on her own rdg: “[843] is improving some. If he hasn’t written you I will send you the letter he wrote me about his rdg. He said he knew it was right and ‘hit the nail on the head’ when the rdg. told his symptoms. Since he is not able to work now I told him I’d pay to have his battery exchanged but I have not heard about that yet. He wrote me had written to that man in Norfolk about the battery.”
R5. 8/18/43 Sister [264]‘s letter: “[843] is in Asheville, and is improving slowly.”
R6. 11/21/43 “[843] is still too weak to sit up. Wish he could go to [678]‘s. The doctors frighten him.”
R7. 8/7/44 Sister [264]‘s letter: “[843] is not getting much to eat and hasn’t improved much. His wife thinks a diet for any reason is nonsense. [843] is still in bed and afraid to get up. [678] is going to try and get him here [to D.C.] after she helps me straighten out.”
R8. 3/2/46 Sister [264]‘s letter to GD: Please give me the address of that place near Asheville that Mr. Cayce said was a very modest place, but they carried out the readings [?]. My brother [843] wants to go there. He will get well if he can get help to follow his reading.”
R9. 3/5/46 GD’s reply: “I’m at a loss to know where to find the information you want about Asheville, as I can’t think of a place that Mr. Cayce recommended near there. I do know that the rdgs. frequently recommended the climate near Asheville for certain T.B. cases, and Mr. [2597], friend of [257]‘s, had his physical rdgs. followed by a Dr. B. R. Smith who was an M.D. in Asheville. Recently one of our members, a Dr. Emil Smith, an osteopath, formerly of Baltimore and who treated several people there who came to him with rdgs., has moved to Tryon, N.C. He has offered to cooperate in any way possible. I believe this is your brother’s best bet. By all means have him to go to Dr. Smith with his readings.”

B2. 5/19/43 sister [264]‘s letter:
“He has been ill in a hospital in Greenville, S.C., since April 11th, and they won’t let him move his shoulders saying he has a serious heart condition.
“[843] sent me these questions asking me to ask you to give him a check reading. He is better. They prop him up a little just so he doesn’t move his body or shoulders. I have my doubts about their diagnosis.
“[843] is starving, as he believes he can’t eat this and that, and his wife won’t fix what he needs. If she THINKS he needs it, she fixes something else. She worships him selfishly, and doesn’t even want him to talk to a man on business. He was offered an excellent job as Manager of one of the best Hotels in Asheville about a year ago. His wife screamed and pouted. Wouldn’t even speak to [843] for days, as she said he would have to talk too much to men and women, and she couldn’t stand it. She has told me that she was so jealous of Mother [851] that she hated her. Well, [843] is letting it kill him.
“As soon as he gets the reading [678] wants him to come here, and she will follow the readings, as his wife thinks they are a joke.
“As [843] wrote me to get it, I am writing you. He just thought I might know HOW to get it, and would know if his questions were all right. I am sending what he sent me. He marked out some after he had them written, and asked me to write a suggestion for the beginning of the reading.”
