This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of January, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of … Street, N.Y. City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read same to you, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900], with the dreams as have come to the body through the various experiences of the body mental mind and the correlation of the subconscious mind with same. Ready for dream.

3. (Q) Friday Morning, January 21, 1927. Hudson Motors 117. Saw it sell at this price. It was a rather hazy reference and when fully awake I wasn’t quite sure of it, yet it was a part of my consciousness taken from the sleeping or subconscious condition (self). Just what is indicated for this stock in this? (A) As is indicated, there will be the one - one - seven, or nine point advance in this particular stock, in the changes that will come about in motors in the very near future, beginning about the third or fourth of February. As is indicated, as is seen through the manner of presentation to the entity, there have been special occasions in the body mental mind as respecting this particular or individual stock, as in reference to the entity’s physical or body mind association with same. With this correlation in the subconscious mind of same is seen that at this particular number or figure as seen - of 117 - began those conditions that brought troubles in the mental way to the entity, and as the indications are seen, there is, then, the rise to occur in this particular stock to at least the nine points, as is seen and indicated by the numbers as are given. Rising then to the 62, 67, 68 points, see? Well, then, that the entity entertain those ideas in the body mental mind, that the correlation of the existent conditions that may become imminent in this situation may be gained by the entity through these channels as necessary to make this, when used aright in the principles of the body’s experience.

4. (Q) [See 900-295, Par. B1] Saturday Morning, January 22, 1927. Saw U.S. Steel sell down to 151 1/2 - 151. The numbers appeared as lights. I asked the cause of this change in Steel from the former indicated upgrade to this downward movement. “The new stock stumped then,” came to reply. Then I saw U.S. Steel New When Issued Stock sell at 110. (A) In this there is seen that the U.S. Steel Corporation, with the various changes with the conditions as surround this particular stock, will sell off near to the 151 1/2 - 152 1/2, coming from the 56, 55, 54, as is seen in the present indications. With the changes as come about, then, there will be seen there will be the advance to this to the 164, as is seen, see? selling off, then, through the breaks as will occur in the changes as will be seen by the much activity in VARIOUS stocks in this present week - for, as we see, the big change will occur about the third or fourth of February, see? As is also indicated by those other conditions as are seen by the entity in relation to these, C & O, B & O rail stocks are the ones that will show the varied change, or the change of sufficient denominations to be worthwhile to the entities taking on, selling or buying such, see?

These, then, should be followed out by the entity in the ways and manners as have been indicated for the entity - for, as is seen, the entity is gaining, little by little, that information as has been given to the entity as respecting the differentiation between a correlation of the body conscious mind, or of the body mind, or the mentality of the entity, and that as may be experienced by the full correlation of all experiences of a cosmic consciousness of the entity through that of the subconscious forces, and in the full subconscious forces may be seen the full concentrated effort, action, or activity of the ENTITY in its entirety - though, as is seen and experienced by the entity by the study of same, the subconscious forces of an entity are influenced and directed, or made a whole of that of the development, or of the body mental mind’s experiences - yet the full truth of EVERY entity’s force is manifested in the cosmic force in its correlation of all conditions made into one, which becomes as the truth, and which may be seen in the various manifestations of the conditions as have been experienced by this entity, [900].

So, in these various experiences of the entity as regarding the physical relation with the various stocks as have been seen in these that have been given, we find in this - with the study of same, the entity will find that one - that of the motor stock, a correlation of body consciousness by the experience of the mentality of the entity - is wavered, as it were, by the experience of the subconscious forces of the entity, and in this manner same is presented to the entity, that the entity may use same.

As is seen in the experience then of U.S. Steel, that to which the body conscious has looked to for the correlation of conditions as heretofore, but - as has been given - those of other conditions are to be the criterion - yet the body consciousness, the BODY consciousness, or the mental consciousness of the entity, wavers in the experience of the subconscious forces. Hence there is seen the varied conditions as regarding the various prices, as seen. Selling off - also there is seen the consternation, or the stumped condition as experienced by many of the traders, as may be called - experienced traders as respecting same, and the new price, the old price - yet the variations are seen by the correlation of such conditions through the subconscious force of the entity. Again we find the full subconscious force of the entity gives to the body conscious mind those experiences in conditions as respecting two specific stocks, as regarding those of rails, in which there is seen that there has occurred in the market - that is, this is the experience of the conscious mind, and shows how the subconscious forces have reasoned or built up such conditions - there have been, and are still existent, specific conditions as regarding certain combinations, or certain changes as in reference to these two specific or particular stocks, and the variation as is seen by the subconscious force gives that these two are the ones to be followed by the entity to gain, as it were, the general trend of rails as respecting the market change in these commodities, or in rail commodities - while, as is seen, many others are changing also, these, however, in this particular group, - for, as is seen, there are days, as it were, in which these stocks - rails - are the active forces of the conditions during the whole sessions or periods of change. These, then - these two, acting as the criterion, and being the ones which the entity should follow to gain the full concept of how the activity of the mental mind shall experience those conditions as necessary to be applicable in the physical activities of the entity, to gain the access, or to gain that process of gain for self, when applied correctly in the physical forces of the entity.

Then, do that.

Dear [900]:-

Sometimes when I get a letter, such as yours of the 22nd, I feel like I am all swelled up with ideas and ideals, for I realize very clearly that you have gained an insight into just the thing I have been seeking and have a hazy understanding of, but am incapable of formulating such an understanding into words so that others will grasp the full meaning. But there are so many of the readings that need the ideas as given properly correlated and put to-gether. Apparently this thing remains absolutely set! Whenever any information is given, all that has ever been given is considered as capable of being understood by the minds of man

• not necessarily the mind of the individual for whom the information is given, for I think often we find that while I can’t say it is spoken in parables, such as the Master gave, yet the information is given in such a way and manner that unless the individuals put forth effort on their part to gain a correct understanding of same, and to correlate same with the experiences of their individual life, they will never gain anything whatever from it - and while a great deal of information seems to be in a conglomerate or heterogeneous - or great mass - and is necessarily needed to be classified, tagged and put in place. Such is the information as has been given, through the scope of many years, regarding the action of the mental mind of a body, with its imaginations that are capable of being builded, and the subconscious mind of a body, with its superconscious guide, that ever holds it true to that one directing point - the Universal Creative Energy from which it originates, and is ever a part and parcel! But so few people take the trouble to study it out - or, as some great mind has already said, “Not more than one person in a thousand ever does his own thinking!” But, as you say, we are getting somewhere - for little by little we are getting many of these elements of the mind of man tagged, put in place, and are able to watch with some accuracy of understanding the operative energies as create the workings of the machinery of an individual incased in earthly form, making its preparation to handle that consciousness it has attained, whether of a destructive or a constructive nature. Many following along the line of least resistance being swept out, as it were, by superior minds, into chaos of misunderstanding, and they arrive at a conclusion - “We don’t know what its all about and never can know!” Yet, with this correlation, with this tagging up and checking up, if I don’t miss MY guess, we are becoming capable of being (as might be said) in that state of where, given certain elements of information, and the balance of the mind of the individual, you can tell what the response would be to any suggestion that would be made to it! And these conditions apply to every phase of human existence - so-called civilization, be it mediocre or classic - for that one dividing or one divining element ever remains the superconsciousness or the directing faculty of the subconscious mind, which may be aided or abetted by the conscious mind of an entity, or warped to such an extent as to turn that subconsciousness into such an angle, with the superconscious forces, that they are shut out entirely. Or, they may be re-awakened by another angle that will again give that same concentrated effort of the body mental mind, the incentive to draw out or draw on the subconscious forces to the extent that the superconscious or the Creative Energy is awakened to the point of where it may control and bring the individual portion of the entity into the direct presence, even, of that Creative Energy. Maybe I’m just rambling along
• but I feel sure you get what I’m driving at - and we can see how this is applicable in the lives of individuals. Now, let me see if I can illustrate just in part just what I’ve been trying to say: Some months ago we had a request for a reading from a man [See 33-1, a Physical Rdg., which indicated at the end that the man had been Nero] who, possibly from the world’s standpoint, is an illiterate day laborer, possibly digging into the bowels of the earth to supply heat and warmth to those who are able to pay for the product of Mother Nature. This man received in his labors an accident to his physical being, that has made him a helpless invalid - yet coming in contact with someone who had the knowledge of the information that might be obtained through the readings of this nature, he appealed to us for help. We haven’t been able to do any good, from the physical standpoint - yet the information as was supplied to that man, illiterate as he may be considered by others, has been able to awaken in him something of a spiritual understanding, and though he - that entity - that subconscious self of his becomes aware of the destructive forces meted out to him through destruction he wrought on mankind at another period of his existence in the earth plane - to his inner being at the present time, or soul, if we choose to call it so - he now finds himself face to face with himself, and with that element he has created by the actions of his physical self, through the literal control of his body mental consciousness, without respect to his soul or subconscious force, and now the whole being cries out for succor and aid! Do you get the idea I’m trying to get over? It’s just the same thing as you have illustrated in Hudson Motors from an experience in your life, and the experience in a purely physical bodily condition in that of another. Am I right or wrong? Oh, if we could just have the opportunity to go over a whole lot of this stuff to-gether - I believe we would be able to arrive at the point where we would have many things that would be worth while to those who would think at all. The article I’m enclosing you possibly gives another angle of many of the things we are studying.

But I must get on - we’ve got a lot of work to do!

B1. 1/22/27 [Background for 900-295, Par. 4-A]: “You may hear from me by phone on Sun. a.m. and if you can arrange it a special stock rdg. Sun. sometime would be very much appreciated. You will see here a greater balance or power of control of my subconscious self, for I seemed able to govern the vision to ask and gain in this wider phase of consciousness or by virtue of it an answer. It isn’t that intellectual reasoning isn’t the operation of the same force of consciousness, but that subconscious reasoning is the operation of a kind of consciousness that is wider in scope than the intellectual kind, even about those matter pertaining to the intellectual kind’s creation, for you see the intellect is what the subconscious changes to become, but the subconscious is what it is even as it subsists within the changed intellectualized form and also what it is in that form. Thus the intellect may reason from its own viewpoint only, whereas the subconscious may reason from its own cosmic viewpoint and also from the intellectual viewpoint. Then I am both that which I cosmically am and what I intellectually am, and I need only gain control of my intellectual self and understand the changed viewpoint of my cosmic self to fully control the latter, which is the causation and eternal self of this plane, any other plane - i.e. of life and its process, namely, creation. Christ gained such control as to even prevent disintegration or ramification of the elements of his cosmic self or organization and thus became able to change them or this cosmic self back into the intellectualized condition - thus the resurrection, see? To understand this I must gain an awareness of how these elements become concentrated into the one atomic carrier of this plane - and how they may be maintained or controlled in one organization, rather than in ramified or split form of the elements of creation, see?

“‘This is mine’, saith the Lord, and from my lordly self I seek, according to His will, this knowledge and its application. Slowly, you see, we are getting on - slowly the throne is coming closer, for the Father shall fulfill His promise - or who will?
