This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of March, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [900].

Time of Reading 10:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City, N.Y.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [900], of … St., N.Y. City, and the dreams this body had on the dates which I will give you. You will give the interpretation and lesson to be gained from each of these, as I read them to you, and you will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. This we have had here before. Ready for dream.

3. (Q) March 1st or 2nd, or around that date, 1927. Left station on R.R. that seemed to run out of Baltimore, Md. We made a wide turn and nearly turned over. Then we got out on an open automobile road. We should have been in an auto and searched for the R.R. tracks. Finally we found them and they seemed to run out or into Norfolk, Va. Then my father appeared, and speaking of the early wide turn that nearly upset us, he said: “This is because you are too early.” Then about the rest of the vision he said: “When will it happen? About the 21st, 23rd, 25th or 29th.” (A) In this we find the correlation of the body conscious mind conditions as regarding those conditions in the material or mental mind that the entity engages through this contact of the subconscious, and in this vision of the entity rails - especially B & O, and those of the Norfolk & Western groups - are given in that variation of the wide turn that has almost upset many of the groups, and the changing to the auto or to the auto stocks, and then that correlation or variation of the vision into that information given as respecting time, and the conditions as will surround the return to the rail stock, for the higher advance, see? indicating the time, indicating the individual ones to experience the wide change, see? Follow same, then, in the ways as are befitting the experiences of the entity, that the entity in the material, in the mental, may be the gainer, or in applying same make use of it in its application.

4. (Q) My father then indicated Woolworth stock. This he told me was going up. How high? To 182 - 184 - 186 - 188.

(A) In this variation being again that same correlation through the body conscious and subconscious forces, correlated with those conditions of the body as has been given as through the guide forces of the entity, the stocks and the numbers as indicated by the two’s as seen - and as the entity has those variations, use and apply same in the way and manner as befitting the entity’s experience with same, see?

5. (Q) Does this mean that Woolworth now selling at 124 will go up to 182 or 188? (A) According to that variation in two’s, see? for, as seen, 82 - 84 - 86 - 88, see? a variation in two’s, showing weakness and strength, see? Advancing, then, near to the variation in this, giving from 26 to 68 - 58 - 68 - for we have 8, 8, 16 - 6, 8, 14, see? making these various advances as the numerical forces indicate. First in the 8 point, then the 9, then the 12 - 14 - 16, see?

6. (Q) At the end of this month - i.e. 21st to 29th? (A) End of this month, for the season’s change and the declaration of the advances made in the various portions of the business, see?

7. (Q) Night of March 3, 1927, while reading Bible. Saw Woolworth stock on stock ticker. Voice: “It is going up.” (A) This the correlation again of those conditions seen and the verification of same through self’s own abilities of concentrated forces through experience of the body conscious and subconscious forces of the entity, or the confirmation of conditions as experienced - the advance, see?

8. (Q) Then, correlating all three of these, when should Woolworth be purchased? (A) At the lowest figure in the present market, see?

9. (Q) When will it be - the lowest figure? (A) These show, as is the variation in numbers, see? 14 - 16 - 18, see?

10. (Q) Sunday morning, March 6, 1927. In Wabash, Indiana, a store seemed to be for sale, and I told another man of it and also my uncles of it giving everybody a fair chance to buy it. I told them the owner had told me he would take $10,000 therefor. It may have had to do with my grandmother’s impression or not but the voice said: “Now I will give you a half interest in my stores that you so well deserve.” (A) This a combination of the mental forces of the entity, and is as that of the verification of promises to the entity through the voice as has spoken through the entity’s consciousness in the varying manners and forms - for, as Wabash store, individuals, conversation, giving of truth in the various ways and manners, represent definite points in the development of the consciousness of the entity in the various phases of entity’s development, the promise of the interest is as the gained plane of conscious ability to apply that gained in the various fields of endeavor by the entity, see?

11. (Q) I have never felt so gratified by anything as by that “I will give you of mine, because you so well deserve it.” I rejoice at deserving anything of and from the Lord. (A) (Interrupting) The entity may well rejoice in the promise, and in the acknowledgement to the consciousness of self of the position, place, station, ability, so well attained and deserved, in the ability to apply same, see? for, as has been given, and as is seen through the pattern as is made for man - that to each individual there is given that spark, that breath, that imprint, that image, of the divine Creative Energy as manifested in material world; the ability to use and apply same being that as attained by the individual man in the various phases of endeavor in this mundane sphere, see?

12. (Q) Thereafter it seemed I could ask any question about stocks that I chose to ask and it was answered. I stood under a lighted lamp at about dusk. A man walked up and I asked him how U.S. Steel closed. He said: “It closed crazy, at 178.” “My Gosh - 178,” I cried, and then remembered that I had visioned it going to 197, and was sorry I hadn’t bought it and held it. “Well,” I said, “Then Steel will go on up to around 188 or 190.” He shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know about that,” he said. (A) This, then, in the light, the line, of that as given, shows to the entity the way and manner this may be applied, and this is an experience then, or as an ensample of how the entity in its conscious moments may act or react to the various conditions as will be presented to the entity for its consideration, in these promises, and in the application of same. Use same to the betterment and to the full understanding of that as attained, and do not abuse same to self’s own undoing. See?

13. (Q) Does this mean that steel now selling at 157 will go up to 178? (A) Means that the entity will gain, rather, through the various channels, that impression as to what the activity of steel - or any other commodity or stock - may approach, see? Not as of any definite one, but rather as given - steel as the criterion often to the entity in the various changes as take place - see?

14. (Q) Was the purchase I made of Steel at 157 1/2 the correct application of that here indicated for the stock? (A) A correct application - but, as given, the entity gains for self that application in same. Fear not! Use in the way, the manner, as given - see?

15. (Q) What does the doubt mean? (A) Often, as given, fear entering in causes the entity rather to apply material condition to spiritual instruction - spiritual instruction to material application, see? Do not confuse self by doubt or fear, see?

16. (Q) Then the whole market opened up to me. “Did that man who bought C & O make much money on the purchase?” “Not much,” came the reply. (A) Again the application reaching farther and farther, as the entity in this condition reaches out for the various phases of conditions presented, see?

17. (Q) The leather stocks seemed indicated for something, particularly Endicott Johnson. Then the others that I can’t remember - all, everything I wanted, seemed to flow right to me or into my consciousness. (A) As it WILL, through the application of those conditions as given to the entity - body mind of this entity, see?

18. (Q) Even as I awakened I seemed to be asking about Fleischman stock and even after I awakened the voice said: “Use you own judgement on Fleischman.” (A) Just as the verification of the information as has just been given, see?

19. (Q) Tuesday morning, March 8, 1927. Voice: “I will not help a liar!” (A) This as the indication of those same conditions and experiences in the entity, as the application of same is of truth - for, as was given by the ensample to man, that the devil was the father of lies, see? Then there can be no application of the DIVINE truths with that that would make a lie, see?

20. (Q) Now here is the exact opposite from “I will now give you a half interest, that you so well deserve,” - unless of course this liar is not myself. To whom does this liar refer? (A) That entity, that spirit force, that would use any means, or any condition, to defraud, destroy, deny, or cause any condition to be used in an improper way and manner that is of the divine, see? Not in reference to self, but rather in reference to that spirit as abroad in the world.

21. (Q) Saw my mother unconscious, and then back in … dead. It seemed she returned there and died, and people were talking of coming to view the corpse. I said: “My mother was born in … . Now she has returned to her birthplace where the Lord has again taken her unto Himself.” [See 106-11 Reports.] (A) In this there is presented those conditions in the way and manner that gives to the entity that understanding of what is TRULY meant, that “All must become as little children, would they enter in,” and that the mother in the same way and manner, would she gain that insight into the real truth in self, in the application of material or spiritual conditions, for the welfare of self, in body, in mind, in material affairs, must enter again into that of the simple trusting mind of the child. THIS, rather than specific conditions - yet becomes applicable, as seen, in conditions existent. That is, to health, to material surroundings, to every condition and phase of life. Then see - in so far as lies within the entity’s power - that same is applied in the life of self, of mother, of all. Do that. We are through with this reading.

Thursday Afternoon,

Dear [900]:-

Well, we just got back - and it looks mighty good to be in Virginia Beach again.

In a great many ways I believe the trip has been really beneficial. While it WAS disappointing from a financial standpoint, just at the present time, yet I believe I am justified from circumstances in saying that I really think it will prove very beneficial, even from the financial standpoint, as we go along with our undertaking.

But apparently, to me, one of the biggest and best things that was accomplished was the better cooperative influences as developed from this trip among our own selves - meaning we three [EC, GC, GD] - for, being thrown constantly with individuals, as a group, who were seeking to gain some knowledge concerning the good that might be accomplished through the work we were trying to do - and each being approached by different members of this group - we found ourselves expressing our own ideas concerning same in such a way and manner that we were drawn closer and closer together, and it made us all appreciate the part played by each individual and their relation to those seeking advice, help, and aid; and I am sure that this is almost like creating new blood in the work. This I think is the biggest thing that was accomplished.

Now, these are the conditions and what happened, as I see it:

But first let me go back and give you a little history that would lead up to our going to Florida.

Many years ago I met Mr. [287] (whom you have met), and through his solicitation I gave a reading for a niece of his

• a Miss [948]. Afterwards, several readings were given for Mr. [287] himself, covering a period of a good many years. About a year ago, Mr. [287] - visiting his brother-in-law (Mr. [4825]), who is connected with [2671] & [943] (the men we went to see), and he (Mr. [287]) being of the turn that talks about those things that are of interest, renewed within the [4825] family some of their experiences with the phenomena as worked out with their little girl. Naturally, something was said in the hearing of [2671] & [943]. Both of these gentlemen had readings for themselves - physical readings. They were interested in an oil proposition and sought information last summer concerning that. (This has worked out just about as given) [[5741]?] So, they went about to try and see if they couldn’t get us together - especially when the information had been given about the treasure that was supposed to be buried on an island they had acquired ownership of [[996] series]. So we went to Florida.

Now, as I started to say, these are the conditions I found:

Mr. [2671] is quite a wealthy man - has MADE the money himself in Florida, in truck farming and in real estate. A year or more ago he took Mr. [943] in as an associate, for his business abilities. They have MILLIONS of dollars’ worth of real estate in their names that has never been paid for. The storm and the financial depression has put them in a very embarrassing condition financially. With the hope of being able to locate the treasure through the information obtained in readings, prompted them to assume the responsibility of having us come in person to try and locate it.

Now, I believe this is possibly the first GROUP of individuals that we have tried to interest as a group [See [996] series, [1274] and [1279] series, early [3976] series, [5741] series, etc.]. Naturally, from what I have said, you can see each individual was already more or less interested

• each, with his own development, with the idea of what might possibly be accomplished through the work; yet we can see, from OUR understanding, just why - their first purpose being incorrect - they have never located the treasure; for there are cosmic or psychic laws just as we have a penal law, and these people, I think, realize this. Perhaps in our first week’s visit they realized it. Then, they have gone about - even with all their other worries - to try to get their individual selves straightened out. Of course, instead then of doing diagnoses for many people who might have come in - many in fact who asked that appointments be made for them - the time was given for various readings for the members of the family, and for themselves, of each member of the group. Now, possibly we might have been able
• in another week or ten days - to gain considerable financial help from individuals seeking physical diagnoses. But the readings had told me - and these people heard them given - that when we had given each individual of the group the opportunity to see themselves, see what was wrong from within, then it would be time for use to go home, and let them digest what they had in hand.

Now I don’t mean to infer from this that they have given up the idea of locating the treasure, or that the information that has been given will not assist them in locating it, but they have given up the idea of FINDING it until each one has come to the consciousness of making himself right with the creative forces.

So I believe, all in all, it has not been in vain - though, of course, it has placed us in a very embarrassing position for the moment, but I believe that each and every one of us feel better, and feel more like meeting the conditions from day to day, and working harder toward the goal that is set before use, and we all feel more confident of the ultimate success of that which we are trying to do.

I certainly appreciate your sending me what you did. This, of course, I turned over to Miss Gladys - for I know that she needs what little we are giving her, to help out with those who are depending upon her - and I’m in hopes that we will be able to induce others - that we make appointments for - to contribute much more than they have been, to help us get along.

I certainly look forward with a great deal of hope and pleasure to having you with us over the week ends and part of the time during the summer. I’m sure we will each have made headway and will be able to accomplish much during those times.

I am very much at a loss to put into words, [900], what I know you and [136] are experiencing in the expectancy of a son and heir [See [900]‘s ltr. 3/8/27 under 136-56, Par. B1]. I often feel no one knows how to appreciate a body’s position until they have experienced such a thing themselves. Now, having experienced such conditions some twenty years ago - yet I can still remember that awakening of something from within that is indefinable, and incapable of being put into words - yet I realize that you, with your studies along such lines, are experiencing a thrill - if it may be termed such, the expectancy of seeing a miracle enacted before your very eyes - and I know you will both be bigger, better, and drawn closer and closer to the Giver of good and perfect gifts, and you will realize, too, the wonderful trust and responsibility that has been placed in your hands.

Certainly glad to know that [137] [See 137-95] is feeling a whole lot better. I do hope he continues to improve, and that very soon he will be his normal self again. I do wish that he would look into the lessons and truths that have been set before him, and apply them more closely in his own life. I don’t think so much of this trouble would arise, if he did.

Now I’ve drawn this out rather long. I hope I haven’t burdened you with it - and yet I feel like I have not given you the full concept of conditions, but I hope I’ve given sufficient that you will be able to see the situation as a whole, and know that we are making progress - even though it’s in a small way. But more contacts, more people that gain a more perfect knowledge of themselves and realize their responsibilities to the world as a whole, and to every good work that is seeking to benefit mankind, individually and collectively, the more near we are coming to fulfil the purpose of our experiences in the earth plane.

Let us hear from you whenever you have the opportunity. We will try and get up these of yours that we have on hand, and catch up with some of the others, before we begin our regular appointments. We had two requests by telegraph yesterday where individuals were waiting for information to know whether to go ahead with operations or not. These we had to take care of, but it will be some days, of course, before we can get straightened out regularly again - and we have many requests on hand at the present time.
