This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of May, 1936, in accordance with request made by the wife - Mrs. [575], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have those conditions that disturb the better physical forces of the body, [909].

2. As we find, these are rather the effects of the torpidity of the liver and the lack of proper eliminations, as produced by an overtaxed system, from effects of cold or congestion that had the effect of making the circulatory forces THROUGH the hepatic circulation more and more susceptible to the influences of toxic forces. Hence some thing of the nature of a malarial disturbance has been created, with a form of strep, in the already thinned walls of the circulatory system.

3. These are the disturbing conditions as we find them with this body.

4. Hence we find a blood supply that is irregular, and a heart’s activity as in accord with same, with a very poor circulation through the larynx and the bronchi, with an irritation in the lymph circulation through the throat; clogging in the nasal passages, those infectious forces at times causing a disturbance in the soft tissue of the face, and disturbance in the equilibrium of the locomotories even at times, and a heaviness as in the present across the lumbar area or about the area of the kidneys and farther down along the lumbar and sacral areas.

5. All of these are the effects of these toxic forces and the poisons, and the effects these produce upon the activity of the circulation through the liver and the kidneys, and as natural and coordinant with the pulmonaries and the heart’s activity.

6. As we find, in meeting the needs of the conditions:

7. We would begin with the use of onion juices; juices squeezed from boiled onions - or onions boiled in Patapar Paper. And eat the onions as well as drink the juice from same. Let this be a part of one meal each day for a week, leave off for a week and then take again; the onions cooked in that way and manner, you see, to preserve their juices. Fresh onions if possible; if not, those that are well preserved - or the Spanish variety. These properties will act upon the circulation and the whole of the pulmonary reaction, as to produce a better elimination.

8. Though to produce the eliminations more effectively through the alimentary canal, we would take along with this (that is, when the onions are being used) courses of the Simmons’ Liver Regulator; preferably the liquid, for this body. We would take a teaspoonful about twice in the evening, or an hour to two hours apart before retiring; preferably for two or three days at the time.

9. After each period (that is, after each two to three day period of taking the Simmons’ Liver Regulator as indicated), when these properties have acted upon the system, then we would CLEANSE the system or the alimentary canal by the use of the high enemas or colonic irrigations to remove much of those tendencies for the clogging and the plethora or expanding of portions in the colon area itself.

Also we would massage through the groin, the portions under the arm, across the lower portion of the abdomen, especially from the liver area down to the caecum and across and then down following the area of the colon itself, with equal portions of Mutton Suet (or Mutton Tallow), Spirits of Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor, and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. These should be applied while warm, as to produce absorption; two to three times a week.

11. Be careful respecting the proper diet. Keep rather to an eighty percent alkalin-reacting to a twenty percent acid reacting diet.

12. Doing these, we will bring for the body the better conditions throughout.

15. (Q) What causes and what should be done for the shortness of breath? (A) Most of this, as we find, is a reflex condition from pressure in the colon, as well as that indicated by the creation of gas in the stomach itself - FROM poisons in system which, with the use of the properties indicated, should be eliminated.

16. (Q) What causes the eczema on hands and feet, deep cracks opening on the fingers and the palm of the hands becoming raw? (A) This is an excess acidity in the system; and with the diet and the eliminations as indicated, these will gradually disappear. Local applications of Lenoir’s Eczema Remedy will be most helpful; or there may be compounded a remedy by self, through the use of those influences that are of the same nature.

17. (Q) Is the hard lump on left side of groin an adhesion from operation performed many years ago? (A) This is more from an accumulation. Yes, an after effect; but if the properties are massaged into the area as indicated, that make for absorption through the activity of the lymph circulation, this should disappear.

18. (Q) Why do the bronchial tubes seem raw? (A) Because they are! This is from those indications that have been given as regarding the effect of a disturbed circulation, of the circulation carrying the poisons that should be eliminated; affecting the mucous membranes, see?

19. We are through for the present.

B2. 4/13/36 Wife’s ltr.: “Last winter he had a very bad bronchial congestion which he has not entirely recovered from. A slight bit of exertion causes shortness of breath, and coughs quite a bit. Also for many years he has had what we would call an eczema - deep cracks open on the fingers and the palm of the hands, becoming raw. This condition is only on the hands, and feet. But I am mostly concerned about his throat and chest and heart. Just a few blocks of walking causes pain in the chest and tubes.”

B3. 5/8/36 “He also has a hard sort of lump in the groin on the left side that bothers him but it is nothing new as he has had it many years, and we have always been under the impression it is adhesions fr. an operation performed many yrs. ago…bronchial tubes seem to feel raw, and the least cold air or wind distresses him.”
