[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. L. B. Cayce.]

St. Luke’s Time of Reading Hospital, 11:10 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Room …, Amsterdam Ave. & 113th St., New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. There is some improvement shown in the reports here. Rather a fitful night, yet a good deal of change in the temperature.

  2. Now, in examining the body, as we find here, the conditions in the present are an acute inflammation in the intestinal tract, as related to the activity of the lower hepatic circulation. It is a congestion along the lines that make for activity in the intestinal system affecting the activity of the lower hepatics or the kidneys; thus making that stoppage which produces the temperature for the body. And it is of a nature that it rises very swiftly and then changes quite a bit, making quite a change in the pulsations of the body, and in the respiratory activity.

  3. While these applications, as we find, will be beneficial in the present - the powder that is an allaying of the temperature, provided there is kept that which will make for the better activities with the kidneys and an evacuation or elimination through the alimentary canal, these should soon make for changes as of much better for the body.

  4. As we find, when the body has improved sufficiently to be rid of these surroundings, it would be well to massage over the whole of the small of the back, or from the hip bone to the 10th, 9th and 8th dorsal area, so as to extend over the lower portion of that opposite from the diaphragm, see? Massage with equal parts Mutton Suet or Mutton Tallow (melted), Turpentine, and Spirits of Camphor. Just what the body will absorb, see? Then apply a hot pack over same, preferably a salt pack - or a heavy flannel dipped in this solution and used, with then an electric pad over same.

These would make for an activity that would cause the kidneys to eliminate, and with the elimination of these cause the reduction of the temperature to such a nature that the activities of properties through the alimentary canal would be most helpful. And these should be in the form of a MILD emit, not that which would cause an EXCESS of the flow of the gastric forces or the lymph and emunctory activity as to excite same to activity that would cause an irritation of those that are already irritated by the inflammation. But using high enemas or colonics, gently given, to remove those conditions where there is the inflammation or phlegm - as it were - as congested there, would remove the condition itself. These would be given once, twice, thrice, to remove this condition.

  1. And we would find that then, with the proper relaxation taken, the body should soon come to its normal activity.

  2. In its diet, give those things that are STRENGTHENING; as beef juices, as eggnog - not too strong, but strengthening, with milk and egg combined with same, see? and the like.

  3. These are the conditions as we find with this body, [916].

  4. Ready for questions.

  5. (Q) Should he have an operation? (A) Not unless conditions change materially from that as is indicated in the present.

  6. (Q) Is the treatment correct that he is now getting? (A) As indicated, if these are kept in the manner so that the kidneys act, and a mild emit, yes.

Do this, as we find for the body in the present.

  1. We are through for the present.
