[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [934], Norma Bailey, Mae Verhoeven, Ruth Gimbert and Amanda Bowman, and [1208].]
Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Virginia.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with further suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [934]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, there are now real improvements indicated in the body. But this does not mean the body can relax nor go on a tear and expect to keep well!
-
But keep up the good eliminations, especially as to the colonics and the massage; though these, the colonics, may be put a little farther apart. Make them ten, twelve or fifteen days apart now.
-
Also the osteopathic treatments and fume baths should be continued, though these may be made farther apart.
-
Then keep the exercise, the diet as we have indicated, and away from those of carbonated or strong drinks, and especially HOPS.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) May anything be suggested now to build me up and put on weight? (A) Let’s not put on weight with poisons in the body, yet! Be anxious, but no so overanxious as to undo what you have done! Let’s get the system in the way in which nature INTENDED it to be built up!
-
(Q) May anything be done to develop my bust in proportion to my body? (A) This is a little bit late in beginning, - but if there is the massage of the mammary glands with Cocoa Butter - not on the breast itself but under the arm and lower and in the area between the breasts, - you can get ‘em as big or as little as you wish!
-
(Q) Should any additional treatment be given for sinus condition? (A) Not until these other activities have been carried on as indicated. This is not a local infection, - it is from the general condition in system, and naturally finds expression in the soft tissue or the mucous membranes through which the lymph circulation flows, from the irritations to which the body becomes allergic. [See description in 934-2.]
Then, when we have builded the body to the better conditions as may arise by normalcy, we may meet these conditions, see, and… [See GD’s note 934-13, Par. R2; also see 943-12, Par. R1 for ques. ans. without being asked.]
- We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. Other questions submitted but answered without being asked: Which treatments should be continued? May any form of alcoholic drink be taken occasionally without harmful effect; if so, what? Please outline diet. What exercise is best?
R2. 6/30/42 GD’s note: Rdg. stopped short because of confusion,
- [1208] moved over next to me and was hitting my arm, rather pushing against it, while [934] got up and was saying something to GC about the ques., and Mae at the same time started to word a question aloud.
R3. See subsequent Reports under 934-12 in re miracle of her eye clearing.
R4. 7/7/42 She referred Miss [2778] for rdgs.
R5. 1/52 She wrote about needing surgery for fibroid tumor in stomach. Later she wrote that it was in her uterus, not stomach.
R6. 8/12/52 “Through examination by staff physician says my womb is full of tumors, possibly have one in my chest which causes my cough; he says the condition is not necessarily malignant, but tumors keep forming.”
R7. 10/8/56 “I had to come home to [998]‘s to rest. The doctor has put me on a diet and he gives me shot. I’m just getting old, I guess. It seems I have bronchial trouble along with asthma, and I can’t stand over that grill or stove [doing restaurant work]… Would you look up that inhalant the reading prescribed for me [934-1]. There are times when I can’t get my breath at all and it’s pretty miserable.”
R8. 10/10/56 “Thanks so much for the prescription and excerpts on asthma. I sure wish I’d followed those rdgs. years ago. It would save me many uncomfortable moments now.”
R9. 8/14/57 “I’ve taken cold, first one I’ve had in yrs. Sure wish I’d adhered to my rdgs. I wouldn’t be bothered with this bronchial trouble. Oh well, live, learn and GAIN, I guess.”
R10. 4/6/58 “I had to come home for a while. I’ve been pretty ill as I’m having trouble with the change [Menopause]. I have hemorrhaged so. Gee, I hate to get old but we all do.”
R11. 10/64 She wrote that she had occasional spells of rheumatism or arthritis in her back and legs, but otherwise she was fine.
R12. 2/25/66 Clinic and pathology report of [934]:

Town St., Columbus, Ohio, on 2-20-66, COMPLAINING of loss of weight, nervousness, diarrhea for the past 3 months; poor appetite and considerable abdominal gas. Age 56; divorced, 1 child living and well. She lives at above address with her relatives, Mr. […].
FAMILY HISTORY: Mother deceased, cause of death malignancy.
PAST HISTORY: One child, now 30 years of age; 1 ectrosis.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATION: A thin, nervous woman, who has lost considerable weight and today weights 93 lbs. Dentures are worn above, lower teeth bridged and repaired. Tonsils are out; thyroid firm; chest negative. Blood Pressure 110/70; Respirations 18; Pulse 82; Temperature 98. Abdomen is flat and negative for tenderness or growths. Pharyngeal and corneal reflexes are absent. She tolerates hot weather but hates the cold.
LABORATORY TESTS: Laboratory tests were made and found to be within normal limits except albumin found in the urine. Serology nonreactive.
X-RAY EXAMINATION: X-rays of the gall bladder show good filling shadow well outlined, but the emptying is sluggish. X-ray of the colon following barium enema shows a marked spasticity of the transverse and descending colon.
DIAGNOSIS: Thyroid dyscrasia. Spastic colon. Extreme nervousness, and apprehension lest some growth might be found.
TREATMENT: Soft diet. 1 qt. of milk daily. Vitamins, 3 daily. Thyroid drops, 5 after meals.
COMMENT: This sensible, intelligent and cooperative patient seems unusually nervous without any definite cause found on this, her first examination. It is believed that her nervousness comes from the abnormal functioning of her thyroid. She is requested to return for further observation and study on March 13th, 1966, or any day during that week.

R13. 12/31/73 Mrs. [934] wrote GD:
“Through the years you have always been a blessing to me, so I’m not surprised that you have helped again so very much in helping me regain my health.
“The various remedies from the readings have worked miraculously for me. First the mutton tallow, spirits of turpentine and spirits of camphor [rub] have pulled me out of a serious case of pneumonia (2 yrs. ago).
“Then recently that ‘elixir’ for thyroid and sweating [636] clipped off that malady in nothing flat. I’m beginning to feel so good I can’t believe it. To go shuddering to bed and waking in a depressing mood just about had me. Now I feel like a human being should. That awful dementia (?) I had! All gone.
“Those blessed readings. Somehow in my deep feeling of gratitude, I feel that Edgar Cayce knows and is shaking his head, smiling and saying, ‘I told you so, long ago. Let that be a lesson to you.’”
R14. 11/7/77 She wrote ordering inhalant 1992-4, saying she was about out and “it keeps me from going berserk with sinus headaches.”
R15. 11/21/77 She phoned saying, “The inhalant is wonderful!”
R16. 3/30/78 She wrote GD: The 636 and 5057 arrived today [from PMS, Inc.] and I was so glad. I have some of the 636 but 5057 is only 4 ozs. & I need it [for the colitis condition] …I’ll send that signed testimonial in the next few days, but this hasn’t been one of my good weeks, but I’ll get better this week.”
R17. 4/15/78 She wrote GD: “It’s sure hard to get accustomed to being on Welfare.”
R18. 6/78 & 7/78 GD’s note: I talked to [934] several times on the phone. She was depressed and lonely. Once she called to tell me a vision she had of a white robed lady holding out her hand to her; I told her I thought it was a wonderful vision and meant she was going to receive her healing. [See her Life Rdg. 934-1 which indicated she was psychic.]
R19. 7/17/78 She died at 10:40 P.M. in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. A good friend and neighbor phoned me to notify her son, [1208], as [934] had told her to let me know immediately if anything happened to her, so I could reach her son - which I did. [See subsequent notations under her Life Rdg. 934-1.]
