This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of September, 1928, in accordance with request made by Mr. [943].

1. GC: Now you have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [943], present in this room, seeking information regarding finances to develop an oil and gas lease in Dade and Monroe Counties, Florida. Please advise as to where, and to whom should he seek this assistance, and direct fully just what should be done, and how to obtain the necessary finances. You will answer any questions I may ask you regarding same.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [943], this we have had before. As respecting the obtaining of assistance, or finances, for the development of oil and gas leases in Dade and Monroe Counties, Florida - there has been a general line of procedure formulated in the mind of the body, and through such channels there may come that assistance as may be needed in the developments of this.

3. As we see through these channels, there will come some questions, and the attempt at some delays in the procuring of such aid; yet through the associations and through the various channels as will be contacted there, there may come, or will come, other sources through which - while it would require the giving of possibly MORE than the body would CARE to, for the assistance, the conditions as exist would justify such concessions in the way of holdings as to meet the needs at the present time; for, as has been given respecting the prospects of oil and gas through this district, it presents that which will eventually become one, or THE largest oil center IN the country, equalling and surpassing even the Tampeco fields, from which this is, as seen, a portion of the field, a structural continuation.

4. In the character of the production, the holdings as at present represented, present different conditions. As given, a portion is of that basis that, while low in gravity, others of a medium or a division of base represent a different gravity. That being sought, however, is that necessary for the development. Then, seek through those channels as have been set in the mind of the body. Success will crown the efforts. Don’t give up! Hold to it! And keep, keep, insisting. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) Would Henry L. Daughtery of N.Y. be the first ones to take up the interests? (A) The first ones to approach. Twenty - At twenty Broadway there appears someone who is especially interested in such investments. Seek through the channels, though, as have been contemplated, making through the various connections and associations as will come naturally through the various channels. Work hard. Present the conditions, and the position, in the manner as has oft been given, and we will find success coming through the efforts of the entity, through the body, in the development of these fields.

6. (Q) How long will it be necessary to work this before success will crown the efforts? (A) Until there is the persuasion that there is sufficient basis for at least an even break for one so developing. The conditions must be sold. The consciousness must be gained by the other individual that there is the real basis for a PROSPECTIVE investment, even, see?

7. (Q) Is there any further information that could be given that would be of assistance to this body? (A) There will be many channels as will present themselves in the attempt to interest, and as the various channels are approached there may be information given as to how to meet the condition. Begin with that in hand. Develop it, see? In ten days to two weeks there should be success coming in a way and manner as to determine just which would be the most acceptable, or one most to press. We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Am visiting a friend here to-night and am writing you so you will get it as quickly as possible. Daugherty interest, The Texas Co., The Gulf Refinery Co., have all turned me down on the oil proposition and am still working but looks doubtful. Am wondering if you could give a reading advising me just course to pursue and what to do now. This thing must be done and it looks like I will need all assistance possible. Would suggest the following questions: “You have before you the enquiring mind of [943] seeking assistance as to whom to solicit for financial aid in developing certain oil leases now served by party seeking aid. [943] has solicited and followed out program as formulated and have been unsuccessful and awaits directions as may be given by the forces.”

I will call [257] to-morrow afternoon and see what I can work out with him. I believe I can work out 40 or 50,000 which would give me enough to drill a hole or finish the one all ready started.

Sorry I didn’t get to see more of you while here but we both were on the run.

Will be at Commodore Hotel until further advice.
