This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of July, 1928, in accordance with request made by Mr. [943].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]
Time of Reading 6:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time.
-
GC: You will have before you Range 35 and 36, Township 48 to 58 inclusive, in Florida. You will tell us which townships would be the better for production of oil or gas.
-
EC: Yes, we have these lands in Range 35 and 36, in Florida. These we have had before. In this district, we would find there would be a portion of several townships that would be well for the production of oil and gas; while a portion of such townships would be unproductive. Those that would be the better for production would be in these ranges: 49, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56. These would be the better; while specific locations would be necessary in many of these. We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/23/28 Mr. [943] was present for a personal reading asking where he might obtain finances to continue developing oil and gas lease in Dade and Monroe Counties, Fla. See 943-5.
R2. 10/22/28 See a continuation of such advice - 943-6.
R3. 11/25/28 [943]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Have lost the State lease in Florida as the State refuses to grant an extension on basis that they have parties ready to pay the tax which we could not pay by the 30th day of November. Someone waited until our lease had expired and then obtained the lease themselves and we were powerless to do anything. I will make some money anyway as I still have 20,800 acres there and will be able to obtain a lease on an additional 100,000 acres.
I did everything that I could to put it over and still believe that I could have put it through if I had had some financial assistance. It is awful hard to do anything without money.
I am working on the Key West Water deal just now and it looks like I may get it through. As you remember you gave a reading on that sometime ago and said that water would be found around 3800 feet in commercial quantities. [See 5637-3.] Am organizing a development company here to do the drilling with people that have the money and are not afraid to gamble a little.
On a deal now for 50,000 acres in Kentucky around South and West of Bowling Green and as soon as I obtain details will send it to you and you may have given some readings on the locality.
With kindest personal regards to you and family and Miss Davis.

R5. 2/10/49 Letter to HLC from Mr. W. H. Perrins, A.R.E member and a member of the Miami Chamber of Commerce:
“Verifying your father’s prediction that there was a large pool of oil under Dade County: The Humble outfit brought in a well at Christmas which is delivering 300 barrels a day and over 50,000 cubit feet of gas daily is being flared. This is not far from our properties. Thought you would like to know of these happenings.”
R6. 10/29/49 Letter: “I’m sure that you will be interested to know that EC’s prediction about Oil in DADE COUNTY is becoming a definite reality. It is reported that over a million barrels have been taken out of the SUNNILAND field which is 75 miles west of our land; but now they are drilling a 11,500 foot deep well practically on the edge of our property - not more than 3 miles S.W. of it…
“There are now 11 producing wells in the Sunniland group - 5 are free flowing and 6 pumped and Standard Oil is now working on 3 more along the east coast. It looks very promising.”
