This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of January, 1941, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [1315], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:50 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, there are still some of those results of the conditions as we last had here. In the present, they have taken more the form of an inflammation of the lining of the colon itself - or colitis.

4. Thus there is produced the weakness, the upsetting of the assimilating system, and the general temperature feeling conditions, and dizziness, throughout the whole system.

5. First we would have given a light colonic irrigation, such as at Reilly’s. Not too much, - not more than one cleansing of the lower portion of the colon; that is, using only one container of the water, you see.

6. Then, once each day for two days take internally two teaspoonsful of Milk of Magnesia with ten drops of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in same.

7. On the third day, then, take two heaping teaspoonsful of a saline laxative - as Sal Hepatica.

8. Then, after the system has been affected, or thoroughly flushed, from the taking of the laxatives indicated, - the next day after that we would have a good HIGH colonic.

9. Then, after the second colonic - the high colonic, you see - we find that the general manipulations, osteopathically administered, will produce RESPONDING effects to the system. For, we need to absorb the inflammation, to cleanse the colon a little at first, so that the other applications may act upon the body, see?

10. Do these, and we will find better conditions coming for the body.

11. During the periods that the properties are being taken internally, we would not take any solid foods; but rather such as the liquids and semi-liquids, - as Malted Milks, broths and things of that kind; but DO NOT have too much of starches as these are taken!

12. Do these, if we would bring the bettered conditions for this body.

13. Ready for questions.

Dear Mr. Cayce -

The reading came as quite a surprise to us as I was not at this address at the time it was given - & furthermore I am unable to take the treatments prescribed.

As you remember the reading said first a colonic. But I am being treated for hemorrhoids which is giving me a lot of discomfort - and a colonic at this moment seems like a nite mare.

Also I just had four impacted wisdom teeth extracted, & am still in the recovering stages there too. That in itself was quite an ordeal, & my mouth is still quite uncomfortable & swollen. But I think I’ll live. I wouldn’t put any money on it right now - but my opinion, for what it’s worth is that for another two or three days, at least I’ll be alive. Hoping to hear from you soon [949]

Dear [949];-

It appears we must have gotten all mixed up - trying to be in a hurry to get something to you, possibly better try this all over again - tho guess by now you are feeling a whole lot better. Hope so any way - you seem to be at odds from both ends this time. Well the colonic would have been the best thing for the hemorrhoids at least, and had you had a professional give it it would not have been as bad - know by experience, is the best thing have ever tried for such. Tho we have an ointment [Tim] as has been given in the readings for such that is usually given. It certainly takes them away - and if you are not a lot better in that respect will try and scare you up a sample of same. Let me know about this.

Do hope you are feeling a lot better tho. How is [1101] and the baby - who does the baby look like - your mother, I suspect.

Dear Mr. Cayce - Just read over your sheet of Jan. 8, ‘42, [See under 2678-1 Background] and I would like to join in. ”… A few moments each day in prayer” is a fine thot and I am interested in knowing what the information has to offer as a direction. [See 281-60 on 2/3/42.]

It has been a long time since I last saw you. I did not come east this Xmas as I was recovering from an operation I underwent in November. It was a terrible ordeal, but now I am fully recovered & much the better for it.

I hope that your family is all well. My sister [1101], you know, has a daughter [2862] over a year old. Do let me hear from you, if you have the time, especially in connection with the above -
