This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 19th day of March, 1929, in accordance with request made by his father, Mr. [4124].

Time of Reading Peddie School, 12:15 Noon Eastern Standard Time. Hightstown, N.J. (Check Physical - questions)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body and those conditions as surround same, of [960] - this we have had before. Many are the changes that have come to the body since last we had same here. The greater part of these are for the better. There has not come the full physical and mental awakening of the body as has been outlined that would be necessary for the full and complete recovery of same; yet THESE are on the improve, and there is seen at times or periods that the body is near to normal, even with the hearing or the activity of the auditory centers. Those administrations of the corrections in the physical sense are being carried out, and are being carried out, very near to proper - and the ASSISTANCE as will be gained by the full and complete correction of these conditions will MATERIALLY add to the benefits for the physical body. While the body in its condition, as has been given, continues to close itself in many respects to the responses of the proper reflexes, or the reflexes that actually occur in the body at times, yet this may be gradually overcome. We would also make those corrections along the rest of the cerebro-spinal system, and we would NOT discontinue these treatments as yet. There was such a length of time that elapsed between the first suggestions that were given and the actual beginning of treatments that changes come, even as may come again and again for the body - but these kept in their near normal reflexes, and with the addition of those vibratory forces as may be set up in the body through the application of those vibrations as would bring the proper coordination (now speaking physically) to the system, we will find THESE will also add materially to the body. These may be administered either through that of the Abrams corrective vibratory forces or better of those of the Radio-Active Forces. THESE, as we find (physical conditions) may be materially assisted and the body brought near to normal. Ready for questions.

2. (Q) What can be done to convince body that he hears, because he says he does not know whether he is improved? (A) Any quick reaction to the sensory system as may be brought about would be of a convincing nature. High altitude and descent, or the continued vibratory forces set in system - NOT to act as a nerve shock, but as a creating of proper coordination.

3. (Q) Should the osteopathic treatments be continued by present Doctor? (A) Just as given.

4. (Q) Can the Westinghouse Machine now being used by Doctor Muncie [Curtis H. Muncie, D.O.] be relied upon as perfect test to hearing? (A) Perfect test - Now perfection is a magnified word. Perfection means no fault whatever. It may be relied upon that there is the proper response to that indicated by the reaction set up, provided same is set for the proper vibratory forces created in system - yes.

5. (Q) The Doctor desires to help. What advice should he be given? (A) Be persistent - and keep the proper coordinations between the centers of the sympathetic and cerebro-spinal system throughout the whole body, remembering these relate to those of the lower plexuses as well as those that revibrate through the cervical or upper dorsal.

6. (Q) What advice should [960] have to aid him develop in his studies? (A) That as has been given for those that would aid the body in gaining its perfect mental and spiritual relationship with the physical forces, and how they are of a oneness in purpose in creating developed forces for the inner and the outer man. These may not be DRIVEN. They MAY be educated through DESIRE for better things. We are through with this reading.

R3. 7/11/29 See father’s Business Reading, 4124-3, Par. 8-A—13-A regarding [960] and how to improve his hair, posture; advising that Dr. Muncie’s tr. will improve [960]‘s hearing, and that the Radio-Active Appliance can be obtained from Thomas B. Brown, as first indicated.

R4. 9/12/29 Father’s letter: “[960] returns to school next week, and I must confess he is not progressing as we hoped he would. He is considerably underweight and seems to be lacking in pep, which you can easily understand disturbs us considerably.”

R5. 4/24/30 Letter from father says: “His mother feels we ought to check up on him, and would like to have a reading as soon as possible.”

R6. 5/15/30 Letter from father: “In the fall of last year, he did exceptionally well in school, but since the beginning of this year, he has come down steadily. Many times he used the excuse that he did not hear well, which I did not believe, as I know since his treatments, he has improved greatly. The teachers tell me that he is inattentive in his class, and they feel reasonably certain he hears quite well. Of course, they know his hearing is defective, but they claim it is lack of attention, and not studying in his room, as he should. It is for this reason we have asked the questions as we have - In other words, our questions are to bring out the following; notwithstanding we feel he hears a lot better unless it is atmospheric conditions that retard him for a day or two, we do not feel we ought to give him more treatments, unless it be as the doctor suggests checking him up every 3 or 4 months, in other words, 2 or 3 times a year.

“We have written to him and spoken to him often, but we cannot bring him to studying as he should, and pay attention in his classroom. He seems to have other things on his mind, such as reading books and baseball results, etc. We also feel, as suggested by his headmaster, he needs building up, which will help his hearing, and might change him, so far as studying is concerned, and with this in mind, I thought if we kept him home this summer, where we would give him special food, and watch him more closely, it would be to his advantage rather than to send him to Camp or elsewhere. This is about the situation…

“You can easily understand our disappointment in his not studying and being considerably underweight, altho we are certain that the suggestions in his reading regarding treatment by the osteopath have improved his hearing considerably, or at least arrested it from having gotten worse.

“We are convinced he hears well - that is conversationally, when he pays attention. As a matter of fact, the Doctor claims he should help himself along these lines. Being that his hearing was dormant for a while, he could improve it himself, by training his years, which he alone can do…”
