This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 5th day of September, 1935, in accordance with request made by his mother, Mrs. [1073], through Mrs. [601], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes. As we find, we have rather a complication of disturbances in the physical forces of this body. There has been in times back an injection for the PREVENTION of disturbances in this body; which, not being wholly assimilated or eliminated from the system, has found lodgement and produced sources in the centers where blood conditions are created, or in those portions where the activity of that assimilated makes for the changing to the elements. As the hemoglobin, as the blood cells themselves - being sources of infection. So, we have not only a disturbance in the superficial circulation but bone structural forces and their centers where these organize with the locomotory centers and become involved in the condition. There was a laxness in not taking the proper precautions before these injections were made.

2. The disturbances produced in the present, then, are from an acute condition; through congestion in the system and an overacidity in the areas of the stomach, duodenum, and through the functioning of the organs of the liver and the kidneys. For all of these in more or less degree become involved, because they are a portion of the organism either to supply through their activity elements in the digestive force or to supply fluids in the combining of the blood flow itself as it maintains its activity in the circulation through the heart, the lungs, the liver, and the greater portion of the internal or deeper circulation.

3. These, then, make for those tautnesses in the muscular forces; and make for pressures upon the various centers in the nerve forces of the body.

4. Then, as we would find, in the immediate:

5. We would first have sufficient of the high colonic irrigations to release or remove those tendencies for the whole of the intestinal system to become or to show the areas for reinfection in the circulation.

6. These should be of the nature of high colonic irrigations. And the first three or four should be taken one every other day.

7. And following same should be the stimulating of the centers especially in the upper dorsal area, as to make for the drainages from the general system to the alimentary canal; so that as the next colonic or evacuation is used there would be the cleansing of the system entirely.

8. Then we find that precautionary measures may be taken to make for normal activity through the system, by the use of the electrical vibrations that may be had through the circulations produced by the reverse coil. Not the diathermy, but rather the deep circulatory vibrations in the reverse coil nature; that is, the sinusoidal. The plates would be used upon the body itself in those areas and centers where the circulation is forced through the areas. That is, the first plate would be attached at the secondary cardiac plexus, or at the 3rd and 4th dorsal area. The other plate would be over the area of the gall duct, so that the current forces that pass through same may make for an activity - over the gall duct area, then passing over the lacteal duct with the second treatment. And the third treatment would be from the 2nd and 3rd cervical and the 4th lumbar. These should not be too severe in the beginning, but sufficient - and should not be given at all, you see, until after the second evacuation has been had through the colonic irrigations. In the beginning the treatment should not be for more than one and a half to two minutes, and not the highest voltage then.

9. We would be mindful then of the diets also, that these are in the main of the predigested and semi-liquid foods, and those that are strengthening. A little red wine with black bread; fruits; soups; those things that are strengthening to the body.

10. And we will bring for the body the better and near normal conditions. These we would do, for this body.

R1. 9/13/35 Mrs. [601]‘s ltr.: “Mr. [619] and I motored to … Tuesday and delivered the rdg. to Mrs. [1073]. Through Dr. Snedeker [O. O. Snedeker, D.O.] I located an osteopath, a Dr. E. Frank Wood in … who has a sinusoidal attachment to a diathermy machine and also had him go over the reading. After the first glance, the reading did not mean anything to him. After going it again and pointing out definite sentences he was loath to admit there may be something in it, but did not seem to understand clearly enough the diagnosis as outlined in the reading.

“Mrs. [1073] asked whether anything in the suggestion could harm the boy and Dr. Wood said it could not. I asked Dr. Wood to try and cooperate with the suggested treatments and having all to gain and nothing to lose he agreed, providing Mrs. [1073] write to you and ask several questions which she wanted clarified.

“Now it is up to them as they have had the boy to Mayo’s in Rochester and other medical men who have said his condition is incurable. I haven’t seen the young man but understand he has some skin disease and tumors of some kind.”

R2. 9/13/35 Mother, Mrs. [1073]‘s ltr.: “Mrs. [601] very kindly brought your reading of my son [988] to me to … and together we took it to an osteopath who claimed that the diagnosis is not clear.

“Also I wish to tell you that we know what [988]‘s trouble is. He was born with von Recklinghausen’s disease, which is rather rare and develops tumors.

“Some years ago he had one removed from his head and also one from the back of his ear which took the nerve from that side of his face.

“Now it seems that one of these same kind of tumors has appeared on his pelvis near the rectum and is very painful. We have had him at Rochester, Minn., twice just recently for x-ray treatments. These treatments seem to cause quite a lot of disturbance and very much pain for four or five weeks, and then relief for a few weeks. At least that is how it was after his first course of treatments and now it is four weeks since his last course and he has been practically bedridden, able to walk very little and very much pain.

“We can’t tell just what the result of this last course of treatments will be as yet. Will you kindly advise me as to your opinion which will be greatly appreciated.”

R3. 9/16/35 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [1073]: “Thank you very much for yours of the 13th.

“In my thirty-five years of experience with this work, I only know of one case similar to [988]‘s that we have had. In that case the treatment was begun and he improved for a time, but a discouragement came through some disruption with the nurse and the doctor - and the treatment was discontinued. So a thorough test was not made. However, we have had so many instances where cases pronounced incurable by the best physicians have responded to the treatments suggested in the readings, that we feel justified in urging you to give the treatments outlined for your son in the reading a fair trial.

“Now, as to the X-Ray treatments, our information seems to indicate that such high electrical vibrations in a condition of this nature are more harmful than helpful; for they disseminate the condition into the blood stream, which is not in a position to take care of the poisons and eliminate them. On the other hand, as perhaps your osteopath will understand, the sinusoidal low vibration - attached to the areas in the manner given in the reading - will act to create the proper functioning of the glands so as to PREVENT the tumors from forming. However, as he will see from the reading, the colonic irrigations and the manipulations should be given first, in order to cleanse the system and set up eliminations before the sinusoidal is begun. If there is anything which your osteopath would like to ask us specifically, know that we would be very glad to have him do so. And if we can be of service through what we term a Check Reading, letting him and you submit questions you would like to have answered from the reading standpoint, know that we will be glad to make an appointment and to help in any way possible.

“Evidently there was something done either before or after the child was born which brought about this abnormal functioning of the glands.

“I assure you we want to keep in close touch with the case, and would like to hear from you often - also from the osteopath, if he decides to follow treatment.”

R4. 9/20/35 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [601]: “Since going over [988]‘s reading myself, together with your letter and Mrs. [1073]‘s, I feel that the tr. suggested will be very helpful. Also I discussed it with a local osteopath who feels that the reading gave a very good description of von Recklinghausen’s disease, as Mrs. [1073] says it is called. So, I hope they will give it a trial.

“Doctors do find the readings hard to understand at first glance, especially since a condition is very rarely called by any name; simply a description is given of the condition from inside out, as it were, rather than symptoms.”
