This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of September, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1007] through Mr. [877], Active Research Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes. (Many changes about the entity in the present.)

2. We have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and manifested in the personalities of the entity now known as or called [1007].

3. In giving that as may be helpful and of interest to the entity in the present, know that the astrological aspects are rather as the sojourns of the entity in those environs; which, through the experiences of those through their various manners and forms of contacting the influences, have been accredited with having an influence in the activity of an entity.

4. Many of these will be found by the entity to be as experiences of self; others, owing to the will, have been altered.

5. For the will is that factor in the experience of each soul that makes for the attuning of that as may become manifested in an entity’s sojourn by the choice of its judgments as to the universal consciousness - and to that necessary for the aggrandizing of selfish interests or for making for constructive experience in self as well as in those with whom and of whom such choices are made.

6. Coming under the influence of Pisces, or that making for a spiritual attunement, we find this - with the sojourns of the entity - is a portion of the entity’s whole being.

7. For more than once has the entity in its sojourns in the earth come under the influence of this same astrological aspect.

8. Hence it is one that ever WILL and does judge the experience and the expressions of individuals according to the ideal of the entity in spiritual things, and its relationships to spiritual experiences, more than that ordinarily termed the moral relationships. Yet these, too (the moral relationships), must be a portion of the entity’s judgment according to the activities of individuals with whom the entity becomes associated in any way or manner.

9. Also we find these make for those expressions of the entity in what may be termed material things; being a contributor to good works in every form or manner.

10. It is one that aids those who have the ideal, then, for the benefit of the fellow man; in their activities to bring peace, harmony and understanding in the activities of such individuals.

11. Such an influence coming with Jupiter makes for those expressions that are innate and manifested in the experience of the entity; one that becomes associated with individuals of all walks of life, those in high position, those in the mediocre portions of the experience, and those who struggle - in their own undoing, in conditions of their own making oft - to gain the better concept of the purposes and the intents of an individual experience into materiality.

12. This brings into the experience of the entity much of this world’s goods, and those things of power, those of prestige, those of material affluence. But the entity’s activities in relation to these are ever, as indicated, tempered with those things as to whether they are of a SPIRITUAL intent or purpose.

13. The influences from Mercury make for a high mental ability; one whose judgments are good. Yet oft in the experience has the entity sought the counsel of others, as others have sought the counsel of the entity as to their relationships.

14. From Venus we have that influence making for an experience in love, mercy, justice, temperance; and those things that have been, as it were, “added to” the entity in the material experience as to bring a contentment. Not altogether satisfaction at all times, but the entity has learned through this love, this experience that finds expressions in the environ of those who temper mercy and justice, that the activities in the various phases of the Venus influence bring contentment in WHATEVER may be the expression or the manner in which the entity finds self.

15. Then, the entity tends, as it were, to make the best of every situation in its experience; that is, using those experiences as steppingstones; not becoming morose, not becoming pessimistic in its outlook upon activities in or about the entity’s associations.

16. As to the appearances in the earth, then, and those that have influenced and do influence the entity in the present, we find:

17. Before this the entity was in the land of its present choice, during those periods or activities when there were the settlings toward the eastern shores, in and about what is now a portion of Provincetown, or Providence then called Vinland.

18. Those were the environs of the entity’s activities then, in the name Sarah Fleuhenheim; being enjoined with those who made for the separations of the Church and State in their activity, in those environs where there had been the lack of a great deal of religious freedom - during an experience when this was being sought rather upon every side, and when there were those things that were questionable in the affairs and the experiences of individuals through the land.

19. Yet the entity counseled oft with those who made the better judgments, and the tolerance that brought - in the relationships with the other settlers, the natives - harmony in those periods of Rogers and Clark, with Whom the entity’s associates were joined in their activities for a peaceful, harmonious activity during those expressions.

20. Those activities in the present give rise to the thoughts of SETTLEMENTS in varied directions; yet the activities of varied individuals’ preparations for their sojourns in the earth, or for their activities in the mental and material things, are kept entirely separate by the entity. Indeed it may be said from this experience that oft the entity does not let the left hand know what the right hand does; which is a development from that sojourn.

21. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Roman, when there were those experiences and activities there from the teachings of the many lands to which the Romans went for their activity.

22. The entity then was among those of the household of those that were as counsellors to the first of the Caesars, who gave counsel - or the hearings - to the various experiences of individuals.

23. And when there came in the latter portion of the entity’s experience the teachings of those in the Palestine land (or the Judea of that expression), there were brought within the experience of the entity those things that made for MATERIAL hardships. Yet for the satisfaction and for the mental expressions these brought harmonious activities in the entity’s sojourn through that period.

24. Then, in the name Florentein, the entity gained in the greater portion of its experience. For there were the attempts on the part of the entity, in its labors, in its expressions (through those periods when the desires of the body, the desires of power, the desires of fame were as the rule of the day), to coordinate the activity of the peoples in the various walks of life for the making of a better expression in their individual activities.

25. These find expressions in the activities of the entity in the present. Yet those counsels that come from those experiences make the determinations on the part of the entity to carry out that which is set as an idea and an ideal in whatever line of choice the entity may have made in giving its expression to ITS relationships with various groups. And these have been called at times hard to be understood by those whom the entity has aided, when there was little consideration given to the entity as to ITS influence in such undertakings.

26. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Persian or Arabian, during those periods when there were the activities under the first Croesus rule.

27. The entity then, was a sister of the ruler - or the one that set self as the ruler in the Croesus activity.

28. In the name Cleus-eon, the entity lost and gained. Through the activities of the entity there were the first separations of the teachings or the schools of those in that particular period; so that there was the establishing of what would be termed in the present the schools of the higher learning and the schools for the application of individuals as to the material things of life - or for making practical in the experience those things gained in all phases of human endeavor during those particular activities.

29. With the oppressions that arose, there came gradually a change in the entity’s whole approach to the subjects that would be termed in the present mysticism and occult forces, or the various activities that arose from the sages during that sojourn.

30. And with the destruction of much of the kingdom, then, through the nomads, when there was the beginning of the building of the ‘city in the hills and in the plains’ the entity, in the latter portion of the experience, joined with those there. Thus it was enabled to make for the CONTINUATION of much of its ideas, though upon a different scale of activity, in the TRAINING of the young.

31. This has ever been in the present, and ever will be, as a portion of the entity’s ideals and manners of activity; especially in those fields where there may be a choice made by the entity for a particular or definite character of service that such an one may make as its contribution to the activities in the material world, and especially those that are tempered with a spiritual import.

32. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as the Egyptian, when there were the gatherings of those when there had been the exile of the Priest and then the return of same, when those peoples (of which the entity was a part) were coming from the Atlantean land.

33. The entity then was among those of the Law of One that came to Egypt from the Atlantean land, with those influences and forces from their expressions in the material world.

34. And the abilities of the entity were used in helping to correlate the teachings of Ra-Ta with the teachings of Ajax and Saneid and the activities in the various lands, that were being gathered by those with whom the entity was associated; in establishing what would become not only the moral law but the penal law, and the spiritual law in relationship to man in his various changes being made - and those various activities in the uttermost parts of the earth at the time, that were being considered by those of whom the entity was a portion then, in the name Assen-ni.

35. In the experience the entity gained throughout; and from that sojourn in the Atlantean and the Egyptian lands, and from the travels that the entity made during those periods, much has been and may be drawn in the activities of the entity in the present. And from same may there be gained most for the completing of its experience in the present, for the correlating of the teachings of those that bring the Truth to the individual groups in their experiences - WHEREVER it may be found!

36. Having gained tolerance, having gained a concept of the expression of love in its truest sense in the material activities, these then should be the influences of the entity in the present; to correlate the teachings that make for constructive influence in the experiences of self that may be given in precept, in example, in activity among the peoples of the earth; that the law of the Lord (which is perfect) may be that which will be the guiding influence in the experience of individuals in their DEALINGS with their fellow man.

37. This should be the ideal, this should be the purpose; that the Lord may come in power, in might, through those who in sincerity, in earnest, seek to be a channel, seek to be an expression of His love in the earth.

R1. 9/20/35 GD’s note: Upon waking from this reading [1007-1], Mr. Cayce related an experience which he has never had before while giving a reading: It seemed that throughout the period of reading the records of the soul-entity, he was constantly being told, “You mustn’t tell that - You mustn’t tell that - You mustn’t tell that - Don’t look on this page - Don’t look on this page!” It was as if there was much to be read that couldn’t be given now; that it wasn’t the right time or the right attunement for it.

R7. 7/22/38 Mr. [877]‘s ltr.: “As for choosing a period she is at a loss to know what to say - they all interest her. Perhaps the Egyptian one is most recognized by her but she cannot choose truthfully. She thought perhaps you could choose the one or two to stress. In short, she leaves it largely to your good discretion.”

B1. 8/21/35 Mr. [877]‘s letter to EC: “Mrs. [1007] is very much interested in your work and wishes to become a member. Please send application blank and usual data.”

B2. 9/3/35 Mr. [877]‘s letter to EC:

I spent most of Sunday and yesterday with Mrs. […], to whom you also have sent literature. Due to her prominence in public life she does not wish to become an actual member of the Association, and does not want her name on the records. I did not argue this matter with her, as I fully understand her personal position, and I know that she is really a very spiritual person at heart and in her daily life. In fact, I know of no one who does more good than she does, and I shudder to think what might have happened to our local community had she not done what she did during the depression. The beautiful part of it all was that she did it all quietly and without wanting any self-glorification. Mrs. […] is most anxious to have Mr. Cayce give her a LIFE reading, and I promised to write to inquire if he would be willing to do so through my membership, rather than insist on her becoming a member. I am confident that this will be well worthwhile from many angles, and I do hope that Mr. Cayce will make an exception in this case. Needless to say, it is not a question of money, and she will be only too pleased to send the Association the usual fee of twenty dollars. If Mr. Cayce is willing to do this, will you be good enough to write Mrs. […] direct referring to my request and asking her to send you the necessary data and the twenty dollars fee? I have already told her that I would ask you to write in this way if Mr. Cayce agreed. For your information, Mrs. [489] has known Mrs. [1007] for many years, and would also appreciate Mr. Cayce making an exception in this case.

B3. 9/30/35 Mr. [877]‘s ltr. to EC:

Mrs. […] was absolutely thrilled with her life reading. She got in touch with us as soon as she got it, and could hardly contain herself both then and last Friday when she allowed my wife and me to read it an discuss it briefly with her just before she sailed on the EUROPA [EUROPE]. She was terribly sorry that she had planned to take this trip just now, as she is most anxious to meet you. She said that as soon as she gets back she wants to have that privilege, and will gladly go to Virginia Beach to see you if necessary. In the meantime, she handed me twenty dollars, and asked me to please send it to you PERSONALLY as a slight personal token of her appreciation. I am, therefore, enclosing my check for twenty dollars payable to your order. I shall tell you more about Mrs. […] when I see you in New York. Both my wife and I feel that if we do nothing more for the Association than to have brought Mrs. […] in touch with you we will have made a great contribution. Your reading has inspired her, and has brought to the surface of her consciousness her hitherto hidden instinctive qualities, and I know that she will be an even greater power for good now that she realizes the truth about herself and her possibilities.

It was wonderful to find that Mrs. […] had already worked with you in a previous incarnation. Many other parts of the reading were most interesting, and I am looking forward to discussing them with you when you are here.
