Date: 5/9/1936 Sex: M ReadingID: 6545
This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of May, 1936, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], through Active Membership of Mr. [257] in the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., via the child”s uncle, Mr. [1665].
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:10 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1163].
-
Now, as we find, the disturbing conditions are in the nature of those that are partially prenatal; not necessarily physical defects but that which is of the entity’s development.
-
Conditions produced in the physical forces of the body are those wherein there is incoordination between the impulses and the physical reactions; expressing itself through the sensory forces and making for the inability of those proper reactions between the IMPULSE to do and the physical effect to be carried out.
-
Hence the body appears to be in that manner of being backward; not indigent, but the inability of making for the proper expressions.
-
These are the effects.
-
The causes, as we find, are from an adherence in those areas where the glands from the adrenals coordinate with the genitals, and those from the lacteals coordinate with the umbilicus plexus.
-
These are the physical or pathological effects; while those in the mental reactions, the incoordination in the sensory forces of the hearing, the vision, the speech, all of these are as reflexes.
-
And if there is produced a condition where these may be made to nearer coordinate, we would be able to bring better reactions to this body, [1163].
-
As we find, there are those forces and elements that offer the opportunities; and if there is a consistent and a persistent reaction, helpful forces may be brought. But these will require not only patience and persistence but a very close watching throughout.
-
We would, then, first begin by making some definite changes in those pressures, or relieving of pressures that exist in the sacral and lower lumbar areas, as coordinate with the adrenals, the genitals, the activities through the caecum and the lacteal and umbilicus plexus.
-
These we would do osteopathically. These are not needed so often as they are needed to be THOROUGHLY done WHEN the corrections are made, about once a week.
-
We would have each day the low vibration of the Wet Cell Appliance that would carry into the system the variations between the Atomidine (or iodine) and the Spirits of Camphor as will coordinate with the body-vibrations.
-
The copper or small plate would be attached first, between the 3rd and 4th LUMBAR plexus center, that the vibrations may pass through those portions of the system and carry to the glandular forces a reaction in the humor or the effluvia in the activity of the lymph or blood supply or impulse as passes through same.
-
The larger nickel plate would be attached last, to the umbilicus and lacteal duct center - or four-fingers from the umbilicus plexus towards the lower portion of the liver. For two days this would pass through the Atomidine solution, regular strength - or commercial strength. Then for two days it would pass through the Spirits of Camphor. Alternate the applications in this manner. Use for thirty minutes each day.
-
Each week have at least one good thorough manipulation, and especially adjustments in the areas as indicated.
-
Keep these up for a period of sixty days; then we would have a period of rest for twenty days; then another period when these would be carried throughout.
-
As to the activities of the body, keep in the open as much as is possible; and keep the body active in those things that are of a constructive nature, in things that require work with the hands as well as those requiring the coordination of the mind forces WITH the hands, see?
-
In the diets keep nearer an alkalin-reaction.
-
And we will find in a hundred and twenty days we should see changes. Then we would give further instructions.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 5/11/36 EC’s letter to Mr. [257]: “I had yours of the 5th with reference to the reading for Dr. […]‘s son, a relative of Mr. [1665]. You know we are always glad to try and be of help whenever it is at all possible. But I’m very sure, [257], it requires something more than just the wish to know what the information might say. Of course, I have no idea about the boy’s condition. We made the appointment and the reading was taken, in line with your letter and with the suggestions from Mrs. […]. I do hope that it will prove to be a very valuable and helpful experience for each and everyone.”
R2. 5/25/36 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “I expect to see the [1163] boy tonight. Mrs. […] told me the reading was perfect but would like some further advice as to how to give the instructions to the school where he is now located or whether he should return to N.Y. and get the treatments here. I think this is another [758] case, but I am not certain.”
R3. 5/27/36 EC’s letter to Mr. [257]: “We haven’t rec’d Mrs. […]‘s membership blank yet, nor Mr. [1665]‘s, although Mr. [1665] did send a check for his mother [1119]‘s reading [which he had for her in Feb.].”
R4. 6/3/36 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “I drove [903] and the boys and Dr. […] and Mrs. […] to see the boy in Schwenkville, Pa. It is a beautiful spot - has 12 children - the woman is wonderful and is doing your work - she follows it out!”
R5. 9/8/36 Father’s ltr. to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce, Virginia Beach, Virginia,
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I am communicating with you again regarding my son [1163].
We have been giving him steady treatments for two months as per your instructions and we are now letting him rest for a period of twenty days.
I would now like a check reading as to whether he has been receiving the proper treatment and progress he has made.
[1163] at present is attending the Margaret Freeman School, Old Harleysville Road, Schwenksville, Pa.
If you will communicate with me as to the time you will give him this reading, I will see that he is kept on the premises.
