This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of June, 1928, in accordance with request made by her nephew, Mr. [257].

[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mr. L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 10:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the conditions here. The action of the physical forces in the body are under subjugation. Now the physical conditions, as we find there are distraught when not under this subjugation. There are many conditions that have to do with the inaction or over-activity of certain functionings of the system. First, as is seen, those conditions that have existed in the body for times past; that is, the lack of resistive force, due to the conditions in the blood supply, pressures in various centers that have led towards improper impulses in the central nervous system, the subjugation of activity of elements in the nerve system, have become accentuated through the external injury to the system; yet this over subjugation at the present is well in hand, and being well handled by the ones in charge. These conditions, while may bring about the dissolution, yet not necessarily so under the present or existent conditions, would the whole system respond to those conditions as being administered for the rehabilitation of the circulation and the strength and vitality so builded or added to that the system would respond to the condition, see?

  2. We would find that these would add materially to that being administered for heart’s action, for resuscitation of strength and vitality, and would not hinder those conditions that are being considered that have been subjugated in the body so long. Over the places (here in the side) where the abrasions, or where injuries have occurred, and from their plexuses where the nerve energy and blood supply radiate from the cerebro-spinal centers, we would apply Mullein Stupes; that is, soak green Mullein leaves in water - hot water - apply the leaves after so soaking, as hot as the body can well stand same. These will relieve this pressure, see? adding that necessary for the assimilations in the system to act as direct conditions for producing the better coagulation in the body.

  3. The continuation of those treatments as have been and are being applied would be well to keep. We would not change much from these. There may be added as another stimulant, taken occasionally, those properties as would be in this:

Tincture Valerian…1/2 ounce, Elixir Calisaya…1/2 ounce, Tincture of Capsici…2 minims, Oil of Sassafras…10 minims, Peptotol, or lacted Pepsin sufficient to make…4 ounces.

Shake solution well together, and the dose would be teaspoonful in water or plain, as would be needed. These may be taken every two hours - these will act better than bromides for the system - may be used with that as being administered as the sedative, but will not act against that being administered. The conditions are serious and need close attention, yet we find these may bring bettered conditions. Now, when the conditions responds (if it responds) there would be many conditions that would be administered for correction of proper incentives in the cerebro-spinal nerve system from pressure, but the immediate needs are to bring resuscitation to the body. Do that.

  1. (Q) Has she had a paralytic stroke? (A) Only the addition of those conditions that have become the constitutional conditions accentuated. Not a true paralytic stroke.

  2. (Q) Should her sister, [325] of …, New York City, go to her bedside? Is she able to stand this trip? When? (A) This must be meted by the individuals themselves. The conditions within self are not at that point where either that being administered to - that is, the body being administered to or the body that should administer, are capable physically to undertake such conditions at the present time - UNLESS the body mentally feels that it would expend its all in such an undertaking. Then decide that for self.

  3. (Q) What should her diet be? (A) We wouldn’t change from those being administered. As given, those in charge understand the administrations necessary. Very good. These as suggested are only those of additional administrations to that being given. [125]. We are through for the present.
