R1. 3/22/28 EC’s letter to Mr. [943]:

My dear Mr. [943] -

Yours of the 12th came just at my return from a business trip to Chicago. Hence the delay in answering. Also some inconvenience by my not feeling equal to getting a reading, even when we had appointments.

Now, I’m sure from what you say, those associated with you have not only become discouraged but rather disgusted at the whole undertaking, and of course - ordinarily looking at it - we couldn’t blame them at all. It has apparently been a wild goose chase - time and money badly spent - inconveniences indured, all to no good - chasing a rainbow!

We tried to present this in a way that would give us all of the information. For some reason, after that we have here was given, it cut off without giving an opportunity for questions to be asked.

As to whether you will be able to use this or not, I don’t know. I really don’t know how to advise you about it. Very naturally, I believe it must BE there - how it is, or why it is, we haven’t been able to locate it - I don’t understand. Why it won’t take it up and give it to you in more definite terms, why it insists that you must work out what it has already given you, I don’t know - unless it is that it is that it is proving, testing him, each individual that approaches the phenomena - testing him in his own way of thinking, and his own mode of action.

I know you feel discouraged about it - and I don’t blame you. It may be possible that its the best thing to give it up for the time being, or to study it over, arrive at some way of working it out - then give it one more fair trial.

At least let us hear from you. We are disappointed also. Disappointed for your sake, as much or more than for our own. Please remember us very kindly to Mrs. [5571] and [4477], and with kindest personal regards to yourself.

R2. 3/26/28 [943]‘s letter to EC:

Miami, Florida

Mr. Edgar Cayce, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Your letter and reading received with reference to Treasure at Broad Creek Channel and it seems from the report that something is wrong with individuals which I have interested in trying to locate same from time to time. Now Mr. Cayce if you will help me by giving me the necessary readings as we need them I will try to locate the treasure by myself. I can get to Key Largo and it cost me about two dollars for a boat from there to the the location and I will go prepared to spend about one to two weeks. I feel like you do about the matter - I believe it is there and am willing to do what the forces desires to be done before exact location is given and if found to dispose of the treasure as directed by the forces.

Suppose you give another reading with the following questions:

“You have before you the buried treasure located near Broad Creek Channel, Monroe County, Florida, and [943] at … Street, Miami, Florida, and much information has been given concerning the treasure to the above party together with others trying locate it. The mind and body of [943] will seek the treasure without the assistance of any individual or individuals and the information as hereto given as to location has been followed as interpreted by the mind of [943]. Now, will the forces give definite information as to the location of treasure so that the mind of [943] may understand same. Give definite instruction to [943] so that he may do what is necessary to prepare himself or proceed in locating the treasure as above mentioned.”

Please let me have this reading by this week end if possible Mr. Cayce, as time is going fast and I want to do this one thing if it is possible.
