This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 13th day of June, 1937, in accordance with request made by Mrs. [601], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1375].

2. As we find, there are definite changes for the better. The inclination for the superficial circulation to throw off poisons from the system, as indicated by the rash upon portions of the body, indicates that the disturbance is being broken up.

3. Hence there would be, then, precautionary measures as respecting same.

4. Bathe off affected portions with a very weak solution of Bichloride - one tablet (0.475 gm) to one quart of water; gently; and be sure to destroy the cotton or batting that is used for doing this.

5. Then apply Cuticura Ointment.

6. Let a little more time elapse between the use of the Stupes, but do not discontinue same.

7. Use a little tea made from the Mullein, internally - preferably made from the flower, but this is early in the season for same. The proportions would be about half a dram to a quart of water. Let it steep like tea. Take about an ounce of this once a day, internally. This will be helpful for the general condition of the inflammation throughout the intestinal system.

8. When conditions have increased - that is, been aided - until there is no discharge from the rectum, even after stools (which as we find, with the use of those properties indicated, should be within the next ten days now) - use a SMALL rectal applicator of the Violet Ray. This should not cause too great a disturbance in the insertion of same, and use only for about three-quarters of a minute in the beginning. It may be gradually increased. Do this in the beginning about three times a week.

9. And if we keep up the rest, we should bring healing - with the way this has started - or an elimination of the condition.

10. The Ash has aided. Use it - not too often, but sufficient for the accumulations to produce better circulation by releasing oxygen.

11. Ready for questions.

12. (Q) Should the Mullein Stupes be applied directly to body now, or wait until the rash has disappeared? (A) As indicated, these must be applied but wait for longer periods between the applications; and a gauze may be used between the Mullein and the body.

But after each use (for this tends to draw), sponge off with the weakened solution of Bichloride; then apply Cuticura Ointment.

13. We are through for the present.

R1. 6/13/37 Evening Mrs. [601] phoned for Ck. Physicals for Mr. [1358] and Mrs. [1364], saying: “After applying bichloride solution to Mrs. [1375] the rash burned like fire, but is easing up after several hours.”

R2. 6/15/37 Niece Mrs. [480]‘s letter: “Aunt [1375] was so happy and thrilled with the contents of her reading that she sat down and wrote to the whole family in … She had her first really normal bowel movement Sun a.m. just before the reading and was feeling very well, but the findings of the information were just like a ‘shot in the arm’ for her. She was pale and sallow when she first came and now for over a week she has had good color in her cheeks. She has more strength, too. The itching and burning are not quite as severe and seems to be letting up. Mother [601] is taking precautions against the infection and everything is being carried out with such grand results.”

R3. 6/18/37 Mrs. [601]‘s letter: “Mrs. [1375] is improving and the last reading was very encouraging. We realize that this condition is of long standing and will require time and great patience. We have been able to get all the mullein we need and have been using it consistently. The rash is less irritating since using the bichloride and Cuticura. The discharge is less and lessening and hope we can use the violet ray rectal applicator as outlined. I have asked Dr. Thompson John R. Thompson, D.O.] to send you a case report on this case and the progress so far, so that you can have it to read at the Congress meeting. I believe we are experiencing the workings of a miracle and we are thankful for the blessings we are receiving through you.” [She requested and submitted questions for another reading for Mrs. [1375].]
