This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of February, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [1387], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern War Time. New York City.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1387] this we have had before.

3. There are many changes, as we find, in the general physical forces of the body. Some show considerable improvement, at times; and still there is much lacking in there being builded sufficient resistances to overcome these tendencies for the nerve plasm pressures at times upon, or between, the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal to the central nervous system, - which find reflex in the head and neck and sensory organ pains.

4. These are conditions as we find in the present:

5. There are those tendencies for lack of body resistances; hence a form of anemia that does not supply sufficient blood plasm to the body.

6. As we find, it would be well in the present for the body to use the Dry Cell Appliance carrying Gold to the body vibratorially. The larger plate, through which the Gold would pass vibratorially, in the proportions of the one grain Chloride if Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water, would be connected on the OUTSIDE of the Appliance, while the copper plate would be connected to the inside of the Dry Cell Battery. Disconnect the anodes or leads from the Appliance when not in use, as well as taking the connection from the bottle in which the Gold Solution is put. The plain attachment would be alternated, preferably, from day to day; one day being attached to one wrist, the next day to the opposite ankle, the next day to the other wrist, the next day to the opposite ankle, and so on around the body, you see; while the attachment through which the Solution passes would be made each day to the lacteal duct and umbilical center, or - on this body - four fingers to the right from the navel center and two fingers above that point, see? There would be placed the larger plate, through which the Gold Solution would pass vibratorially to the body. Attach the Appliance once day, just before retiring; not over twenty minutes in the beginning. In the second or third week (and we would keep this up for at least five or six weeks) we may increase the period to thirty minutes, but no longer than this. Do not keep it on longer than thirty minutest, ever.

7. It will be necessary to recharge or to change the Solution when it is observed to have precipitated. The period required for this should gradually change, as to length.

8. After these vibrations have been used for several weeks (five to six), leave off and rest for a period. Then use again for several weeks more. But change the Gold Solution when it shows precipitation, or when the water is entirely cleared.

9. Take out the Solution lead (the U-wire or lead), wipe, put in and connect about a minute to two minutes before the attachment is made to the body; that is, prepare the whole Appliance that long before it is attached, see?

10. As to the diets, massages, meditations, those periods of quite [quiet?] and rest, relaxation, - these we would keep much as has been observed by the body recently.

12. (Q) Is the stainless steel plate which I hold in my hand alright to be used for the Gold Solution? (A) This will be very good.

13. (Q) Am I in danger of losing my eye sight because of scars that the X-Rays showed on the optic nerve and in the bones of the head and sinus? (A) This vibration of this metal to the body SHOULD AID in removing these disturbances; also enabling the glandular system to assimilate and increase its body building and nerve activities.

14. (Q) Did I always have the large lump in the roof of my mouth? If not, what is it and what are its implications? (A) Only the fullness that comes and goes. This decreases at times, and is at those periods most prominent when there is high nerve tension to the soft tissue in the frontal portion of the roof of the mouth. This, too, should be aided by the use of these vibrations indicated.

15. (Q) What is causing the eruptions UNDER the skin of my forehead and what should be done to make them clear up? (A) Use foods that have a little more of the vitamins A and D in them.

16. (Q) Has the kidney condition completely cleared up now? (A) It is much bettered, but as the eruptions indicate the cause has not been eliminated altogether. It has rather subsided; it is being aided, but not altogether eliminated.

17. (Q) Will I ever be really well again, or should I just accept my lot and stop going to doctors? (A) Do the right thing and stop going to doctors.

18. (Q) Any further advice? (A) Do these things in the present.

R1. 2/27/42 “I had a letter from Mr. Godfrey. The little appliance is to cost $8. I’ll write to him over the week-end and send a check so he can send it to me. Thanks for clearing up the instructions on using it. I still feel very well. I do think that Gerson’s diet has helped me though I’m not being such a good girl about keeping it as I was. When the warmer weather comes it will be easier as it is hard eating just salads this cold weather. He certainly has something in his theory all right.”

R2. 3/26/42 “I’m using the little machine right along and wrote to the man to send me the extra bottle of the gold solutions so I’ll have it ready when this one is worn out. My headaches have been pretty good for some time now but the pain in the kidney region has been more active.”

R3. 3/28/42 EC’s letter: “[1387], do you ever go in for the masseuse, do you like such things? Believe that such a treatment now and then would help that kidney condition. Take a mild, not a heavy sweat, and let them give you a fume bath of witchhazel with an oil rubdown. Try one at Reilly’s sometime, tell him I sent you, and think you will like it and that it will do you a lot of good, will make the gold act better with glands, as well as purify the circulation a bit. Not too much of the dry heat but most of the fume bath with witchhazel, then the oil rubdown, think it will help each way.

“Don’t use the gold oftener or longer than suggested, can get too much of that, but should help. Glad you are having a period of rest from the headaches and hope it keeps up.”

R4. 4/6/42 “I went down to Reilly’s last Thursday and had one of those baths, and massage. They are usually 5.00 but the man I saw charged me only 4.00 and said if I took a series of 6 he would make the rate $20 for six. I told him you had not said how many would be necessary and I’d write and ask you. I’m still taking the little machine as directed. The reading said take for five or six weeks and then stop for two and take again. I think I have a couple of more weeks to go. I sent for more of the gold solution but the first bottle is still O.K. How long should the battery last? I asked Mr. Godfrey and he said this was the first one of this kind he had made and he did not know and to ask you to find out sometime. I of course do not feel anything so I don’t know if it is worn out or not.

“I hope you are feeling better. I did have such a hunch you were not up to par.

“The people down at Reilly’s were very nice. Wouldn’t it be nice to have enough money to have all those treatments all the time and not to have to worry about them. That is the way those Hollywood stars keep looking so fit. It certainly does help in toning up the system.”

R5. 4/9/42 EC’s letter: Don’t you like it at Reilly’s believe those treatments there would help - did you tell them of an interest in the work here - talk to Dr. Reilly about it - he is very much interested here, and like to hear from those interested also. Expect you will find if you examine the gold there are precipitated particles in the bottom of the bottle, it looks about the same but loses strength - for the gold actually goes into your body vibratorialy, it has been tested many the time the batter should last about six weeks

• that you can test also take a knife or piece of metal and touch the ends of the connection at the battery - if there is not a spark then it has been used. You can replace this for 60 cents or such a matter may be $1.00 now.

R6. 12/13/42 See her very discouraging letter under 1387-1 Reports, in which she tells of losing her job, her faith, etc., saying: “My life this past year has been going from bad to worse in every respect. My health has not improved so I’ve given up doing anything about that…” etc.

R7. 11/27/44 [to GD]: “It looks at last as if I have found someone who will do the thing we have tried for so long. He is very much interested in Mr. Cayce’s work and would willingly follow instructions that came from him… He charges $5 a treatment but it is well worth it. His name is Dr. A. Shapiro [D.C.], 33 W. 42nd St., N.Y.C…”
