This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Ave., Dayton, Ohio, this 3rd day of July, 1925, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [147].
[Edgar Cayce; Mrs. Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 4:00 P. M. Dayton Savings Time. …, Ohio.
-
EC: Now, we find that the preparation as has been prepared or renewed in charge for Mrs. [147], of …, Ohio, is nearer to that correct vibration necessary for the assistance to the body.
-
The glasses in their change should be examined again, under the present condition of the body. Test the vision, see? We will find the necessary changes may be easily made. Should be made by changing the lens from one eye to the other.

R1. 7/7/25 She wrote: “Both your letter and Reading received yesterday. Thank you very much for both. I was so glad the battery was somewhat near correct. I assure you I shall do all it is possible for me to do to keep it that way and also keep up the osteopathic treatments until you say ‘enough.’
“I am going today to have my glasses attended to. It is almost impossible to get any one to do a thing differently from what they decide to do. If you try to explain to them they just think one knows nothing and go right on in their own little rut. They even go so far as to tell me (if not in plain words insinuate) that I don’t know what I am talking about. Probably not but I do know when I can see and when I can’t; and that is the principal thing with glasses.
“I shall keep you advised often as to my condition. Hoping and trusting I may have a GOOD report next time and thanking every one of you again and again, I am”
Most sincerely, [147]
R2. 7/16/25 She wrote: “I went to the occulist who made my glasses and he would not consider changing the lenses. I then went to an optician and told him what I wanted done. He tested my eyes and has made me other glasses. I got them yesterday. They blur - not so much, I think, as the others but are not clear. I doubt very much if he did what you suggested but I had no way of knowing. I am trying them to see how they will be. I think they are magnifying too much. Seems that way to me. Possibly I am wrong but I can’t help but feel they have given me glasses too strong.
“Have had the battery remade and recharged. Also a cover for it. If I could only get others to carry out your instructions as I do there would be some results. I only trust they have this time. If it wasn’t for the confidence I have in you I think I would lose my mind. I try so hard to get them to do things as you tell me. Don’t know whether they don’t try or can’t.
“I am trying to think every thing is correct and I shall soon have some results in my hearing.
“With kindest regards to all of you, I am”
Most sincerely, [147]
R3. 7/17/25 She wrote: “I have just had my osteopathic treatment. The Doctor says I should not wear these glasses as they magnify too much. That I should go back to the ones I have been wearing for the last two months. I am quite certain that instead of reversing the lenses they have just made them magnify more. That does not prevent them from blurring and even though it did in a short time I wouldn’t be able to get glasses I could see with at all. Of course this is only MY opinion.
“I was talking with a friend of mine last night and telling him what a time I had in getting the battery properly charged. He suggested my using a small Radio battery, if it would be as effective. I don’t suppose it would be the same but am just asking for your advice. If I could use that I would always know just what it was and not have to trust those electricians.
“I want to keep you informed to the very best of my ability that is why I am writing again today.
“Thanking you once more for all you are doing, I am”
Sincerely, [147]
R4. 8/6/25 She wrote: “I have again had the battery renewed. I trust it is correct and has been.
“Am wearing the same glasses, the first ones I had made. Can’t see any better with them. If I only knew they were the correct glasses and weren’t injuring my eyes.
“Have taken 13 Osteopathic treatments - two a week - the Doctor said I was not responding to the treatments as I should and wanted to test my blood which was done. They said the blood showed I had serious spleen trouble; that I only lacked 1/10 of 1% of something (I didn’t know what they meant) of having Pernicious Anemia; that I had a bad case of dry catarrh - that it was the catarrh that was causing my deafness, eye trouble etc. [Hypertrophic rhinitis?]
“Isn’t that a staggering array of ailments (If I really have all of them) in connection with my stiff leg and other minor ills?
“They have some kind of battery they want to use on me together with the Osteopathic treatment. Have used it once
- said I should start immediately. It is applied between my shoulders. If you think it will interfere with my own battery, or is no good any way, which I doubt myself, I shan’t take any more.”
R5. 8/7/25 EC volunteered (without an appointment being made) her Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-24.
Background
Background
B1. 6/26/25 She obtained Ck. Physical Rdg. 147-22 advising that Wet Cell Appliance be charged another 30 minutes (for treating long standing deafness, total in left ear, increasing in right), also that she rest her eyes by removing eyeglasses for far vision when not doing close work.
B2. 6/30/25 She requested ck. rdg. to see if the Wet Cell Appliance was charged correctly, also stating “My glasses still blur when reading my copy. Can’t read newspaper print scarcely at all.”
