Date: 11/8/1938 Sex: F Age: 58 ReadingID: 7312
This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 8th day of November, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [1472], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:10 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.
-
GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [1472] (above address). You will give the present physical condition of the body, giving suggestions for corrective measures; and answering the questions she has submitted regarding her associations, surroundings and material affairs.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [1472]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, in some respects conditions are very much better.
-
There should never be antagonistic feelings because of disagreements. But those convictions within self should be adhered to when the individual entity feels these convictions are constructive in its own experience.
-
In general physical forces: As we find, -
-
We would not have so much of the mechano-therapy or chiropractic adjustments, but sufficient of such in the proper relationships to those conditions which have been and are a part of the physical disturbances to aid in the distribution of energies, - which are naturally slowed up by the very NATURE of conditions through the body; notably - those which disturb through the soft tissue of face and head, the antrum disturbance, as well as the kidney or the lower hepatic circulation, as combined with the activities of assimilation through the body.
-
These would be following the electrical forces which would re-ionize the body-vitality. This would be of the low forms of electrical vibration as from the low static vibratory influence, rather than the direct currents.
-
This as we find would enable then the influences of the mental and spiritual forces to attune the body, through the positive suggestive forces, that the body may arouse within itself greater activity in relationship to keeping a normal balance throughout the system.
-
This then as we find, if there is better consistent reaction to the first indicated associations with Miller, would be the more preferable. This should not, this does not hinder the body in its POSITIVE, creative affirmation within itself nor in its abilities to raise, - but rather is a complementary stimuli TO the abilities of the body.
-
These we would do.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Now that I am no longer under treatment of Dr. Gates would it be advisable to return to Dr. Mary Miller for the chiropractic treatment which was advised and interrupted last winter? (A) As has been indicated, not so much chiropractic, - but SOME chiropractic and some mechanotherapy, each in those relationships to the conditions as indicated, that would FOLLOW the character of electrical forces to reionize or vitalize the forces of the body-functionings.
-
(Q) Should I continue use of nose drops prescribed by Dr. Ann Belcher for Sinus condition? (A) If there is relief in same, we find it would be very well. However, with the treatments as just indicated we would not find these as necessary - AFTER a few of such treatments.
But if these are necessary to the body’s attitude, the body’s inner self, use them, - not as overriding but as working with that administered.
-
(Q) Is my constant nausea due to kidney condition or drainage from sinus infection, and what can be done about it? (A) It’s rather a combination of these. But as indicated, if there is the use of the low electrical vibratory forces, and the raising of the vibratory influences, the keeping of eliminations above normal, this should disappear.
-
(Q) Have you any further suggestions for the achievement of better health conditions? (A) These as we find should bring better forces for this body. But be consistent, be persistent - and insistent upon self keeping in accord with the highest forces as may be aroused within self to constructive meeting with all influences about the body.
-
(Q) Have I sufficient spiritual knowledge, understanding, and strength to complete the healing of present bodily disharmonies without aid of doctors, or material means? (A) As indicated, if these are used as COMPLEMENTARY experiences for the physical, for the ATTUNEMENT of the mental, such may be much better accomplished.
Is thy concept of truth of life divided? Is God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit divided because they are active as one? yet each with its portion of its manifestation in the body?
-
(Q) Should I now withdraw money being invested by Young Management Corporation or leave it under their management? (A) Unless there is the convincing within self that there are sources which will make for better gains, leave it. If there is an opportunity for better returns (as these have been so materially reduced), be well to withdraw.
-
(Q) Can you suggest best channel and advise effective procedure to achieve publication of my proposed newspaper feature entitled “HOW WOULD YOU EXPLAIN IT?” (A) There are many outlets that would offer the opportunity for such a manner of presenting same. This is not as a newspaper product, as we find; but would be better under such as Scribner or the Forum.
-
(Q) Is recent information given me psychically by Mrs. James Chapman reliable? (A) ANSWER THAT WITHIN SELF! If it is consistent with thy ideal, and if it responds to that within self as being consistent with constructive forces, then rely upon it. If it answers not, forget it!
-
(Q) Has my moving picture prospect in California dropped through or will a contract yet be forthcoming, - and if so, how soon and with what company? (A) It has not entirely dropped through, but will need further stimuli if there is to be the offer of a contract. By the very nature of the connection, it would be well to present something that might be used as an opening wedge for such activity.
-
(Q) When, where and what was my relationship in any other incarnation to the entity now known as […] [my secretary]? (A) As we find, this had best be drawn by comparison than by the approach from this present channel of seeking; though there has been a connection.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 11/10/38 [1472]‘s letter to EC:
My reading has come, and is very helpful. I KNOW that I must have the consent of the INNER ME - MY SOUL SELF - in any procedure, just as the informations says. I know, too, I had to rise above a personal dislike of Dr. Mary Miller before it would have been right to go back to her. This I have completely mastered. Hence my question regarding now resuming the interrupted treatment. It was not interrupted for this reason, but because I became terribly ill and could not go on at the time. I can now resume it without personal repugnance, - such as I formerly felt in the contact. I shall do so as soon as I can get an appointment, - doubtless to-morrow, - as her office states she will be in then.
Thank you for giving the reading, - especially when you were feeling so badly yourself. I am so sorry you are not completely recovered. Is my feeling that you would profit by a change just a bit of selfish desire to have you come up here, or real guidance in your behalf? Anyway I wish you’d try it, - for I do so want to see you.
I must now stop as I have an appointment for which I’ll be late if I don’t get along to it in a few minutes. Heaps of love to all of you from, [1472]
R2. 11/21/38 [1472]‘s letter:
I have had three chiropractic treatments from Dr. Mary Miller. The first two knocked me for a loop. I was so ill for two days after the second one I felt I simply COULDN’T go on. But I knew the last Reading said I was to persist, so persist I did, and the third Reading brought no such bad reactions. I take the fourth to-night and am very, very hopeful that I am going to get some genuine help this time.
R3. 12/13/38 [1472]‘s letter to EC:
The day after you spent the evening with me last week I began the magazine article I so want to do about you and your work. I got three paragraphs written the entire day, and was interrupted some twenty times while writing those, so that even the beginning did not satisfy me. I have come to the conclusion that I shall never be able to get enough uninterrupted time to do any worth while writing in my office. And perhaps I shouldn’t try to, as my time here, after all, belongs to […]. But I am getting better under the Miller treatment, and as soon as I am equal to spending an entire week-end in added work I shall try to do the article. As I told you when here, I shall offer it to no magazine until YOU have seen and approved it. I find it very hard to get uninterrupted time for writing, as that, after all, is the thing I am best equipped to do.
Within the next two or three weeks I feel I should have a PHYSICAL CHECK, if only to learn where I stand and how I should continue Dr. Miller’s treatment.
I think perhaps you had better not schedule it until after Jan. 1st, however. My office will be closed on both the 26th and Jan. 2nd., because Christmas and New Years come on Sunday. I could be home the morning of either of these days if you would care to give me a physical check on either one, and have the time free. Let me know and I will prepare the few questions I want to ask.
Now I must stop. I began this letter at 9:30 this morning. It is now nearly three and I have just gotten back to it after a day filled with interruptions. Which is a sample of how it ALWAYS is in my office.
R4. 12/28/38 [1472]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Edgar:-
Thanks for your telegram just received. I am very glad you find it possible to give me the reading Sunday, Jan. 1st, and shall remain in my apartment the hour you designate (12 to one).
I am still very draggy from my illness over the last week-end but manage to be in the office and keep going. I hope the “check” will confirm my own belief (and Dr. Miller’s statement) that my vitality has been raised by the treatments I have had from her, and tell me how to proceed for further gains, as one can do little creative work of value unless physically fit. The routine work is easy of accomplishment even when sick, but I find it impossible to reach any high standard of creative work when fighting illness. So I feel my first job is to get well if I can find out how to accomplish it. I feel I have been greatly helped by Dr. Miller, and thus have hope of entirely recovering my health and strength.
