This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of August, 1937, in accordance with request made by the Aunt - Mrs. [903], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Born September 30, 1926, around 12 A. M., shortly after midnight, Greenwood, S.C. Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, S.C.

1. EC: Yes, we have the records of the entity now known as or called [1489].

2. In the astrological aspects, these we find a bit at variance from the ordinary or the general; for over and over again we find the associations of Jupiter-Venus, Jupiter-Venus, Jupiter-Venus in the experience of the entity, and these make for an urge wherein that unless there is some unusual or unforeseen happening, the entity should make for a musical or stage career.

3. For this brings music (and especially the cello) as a means or instrument for expression, as well as audiences - concert or stage - for expression. These are latent and these may be manifested, if the opportunities are given. These may be in the cinema or the stage, but preferably either the concertist or the stage.

4. In giving then the experiences (Now remember, these are at variance to many influences) in the earth, we find these have a definite influence - but the latent and that which may be manifested, if there is kept in the experience the ability of the PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT of the entity.

5. For all things unusual appeal to the entity.

6. The ways of life appeal to the entity, the conditions and the experiences of life.

7. Do not let an AFFAIR make for that which would destroy the chances for the expression before the many.

8. As to the appearances in the earth, these as we find have their influence in the present:

9. Before this the entity lived during that period called the American Revolution, when there was the occupying of New York by Clinton, Howe, and those of authority in the British Army.

10. The entity then while a native was not wholly in the capacity of a spy but as an entertainer was one that through the activities made for the DELAYING (in fact) of activities of a campaign; and all UNAWARE, unintentional, did much to save the activities against those of Washington and of Lee and others during that particular experience in seventy-six and seven.

11. In the experience the entity was known as Betsy Anne Wethers, or Wetherby as called by some - though the name was Wethers, as may be a part of a record that may be located among the papers in the British possession of Clinton’s campaign. For it was held against some in the activities in that period.

12. The entity gained and lost and gained through the experience.

13. And there are the abilities in the present of fascination, the abilities for entertaining, the ability to become a great lover - not as a tragic but DRAMATIC - in its activities.

14. Before that (among those that have a great influence) we find the entity lived during those periods when there was the rebuilding in the temple from those activities under Nehemiah, Ezra, Zerubbabel, and the activities that had brought about the restoration to those peoples of the activities in that particular land.

15. The entity was among those who were the leaders of the group in that of entertaining, and did much to make for the addition of the psalm singing and the music as pertained to the attempt to restore the activities of David in the bringing up of the ark - or what may be termed as the DANCE that made FOR the bringing of same to temple service or temple activity.

16. Sacred dance; not lewd but sacred; as well as the song.

17. Hence the DRAMATIC influence again that is innate and may be manifested in the experience of the entity, as well as music that pertains to the very nature and vibration that is indicated in the cello - as it is known today; for it was then in the class of the harp or lyre in that experience, and this was the nature of expression of those from which the entity came, as Rebecca, in the association with the reestablishment of service in the temple and the preparation for those in the outer courts.

18. Also the entity aided in making for PEACEFUL influences, and yet attracted the workers for a greater service and activity.

19. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as or called the Pyrenees, or the land where the Atlanteans landed and combined their efforts in developments with the Pyrenees, the Carthaginians as later were known - or the Carpathians.

20. In the activity there the entity was a leader, yet a seducer of those that were in authority; and became the ruler that allowed the creating of too much lewdness in the activities of the religious service and worship.

21. The name then was Ame-lee.

22. In the experience the entity lost; but the abilities for service, the abilities to attract CROWDS, the abilities to make ovation to the many, arise as an innate influence from the experience.

23. Then if these abilities are in the present turned to constructive rather than destructive channels, we may make for an expression and an experience that will be for a great advancement; bringing - as far as material success is concerned - great wealth, great renown, and great activity for GOOD, IF these are used in constructive ways and manners.

24. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, then, and that to which it may attain, and how:

25. The abilities, as indicated, are limited only to the ability to create rather than to make for destructive influence; or the activities in creative form or nature in the experience.

26. Music, stage, screen - the channels of expression.

27. The abilities for fascination, the abilities to attract - if they are kept in CONSTRUCTIVE ways rather than becoming those that allow the making of destructive influences - may be made CONSTRUCTIVE.

28. Then, the way is open.

29. The abilities for training, directing, must be kept in the spiritual attitude.

30. Ready for questions.

31. (Q) In what particular school would the training be best? (A) In whatever is chosen by the activities during the developing years. Because these must necessarily come AFTER the sixteenth and seventeenth year, or during that period. That depends upon the development. But as to becoming noted, famed - well, these are just part of the experience. Make them constructive, NOT destructive.

As to the forms about the entity: Keep BLUE close to the body oft in all of the wearing apparel.

Delicate hues of dress or wearing apparel appeal the more; mauve, a good deal of color or small figure - these are the things that attract. Violet and violet scent with orris are the odors for the entity. The gold with the crown or the crest oft, but - DO NOT LET THESE GUIDE THEE! RATHER GUIDE THEM in their influence.

R1. 9/4/37 Letter from Mrs. [189] (Mr. [257]‘s secretary): ”…In reference the [1489] reading. Mrs. [903] telephoned me when it arrived and was so disappointed because it did not fit [1489] in any way. It analyzed [1434], the younger child, to a dot. Is a thing of that kind possible? It should not be so, but I do hope our research will find the real reason for a thing of this kind…”

R2. 9/8/37 EC’s reply to Mrs. [189]: ”…As for the [1489] reading, I do not think that is wrong, - though it may be as they see it now […] again who asked for the reading, who sponsored same, all of these things must be taken into consideration, I am sure. …I believe that the child’s [1489]‘s reading is right and time will prove that it is true…”

R3. 9/18/37 Mr. [257]‘s letter: “I think I wrote you that [2511] and [903] were both tickled with the remarkable reading that you gave for the little girl [1489] and she is looking forward to the other one coming through when you have time.”

R4. 9/20/37 EC’s letter: “I thought the reading very good for the little girl [1489]. Mrs. [189] seemed to think it did not fit at all.”

R5. 12/2/37 Life Reading was attempted for [1489], older sister because of [903]‘s insistence that the reading [1489-1] was given for the younger sister. However, [see 1434-1] it is assumed from information given that EC continued with reading for the younger sister, [1434] December 2, 1937. [903] continued to insist that above reading, [1489-1], was intended for [1434].

There is some doubt still as to which reading - Life Reading belongs to which girl, even in the mind of Mrs. [903] who says today [9/58] she wishes she had never been so positive about the matter. She admits that at the present time it would seem that the reading, 1489-1, DOES FIT [1489], and the 1434-1 DOES FIT [1434]! I am just as sure to this date that I did not copy the wrong name and birthdate for Mrs. Cayce to present in the suggestion; that the older girl’s name and date WAS presented for 1489-1, reading.

R6. 4/20/75 [1489] requested copies of her reading as well as her sister’s [1434], her mother’s [2511] and her father’s [2901]. During correspondence [1489] sent a copy of recent astrological chart done for her by Zipporah Dobbyns. [See Source File Key #1489 for natal chart re 1489-1.]
