As we find, while there have been some improvements in some directions, there have not been the precautions in the body not exposing itself or not being so active as to take cold.

The cold, then, as combined with the condition already existent, is making for the aggravation to the organs of the sensory system - as the ear and the throat.

Keep the body quiet.

In the evening use one drop (not more) of St. Jacob’s Oil in the ear. This is better than sweet oil, though if the St. Jacob’s cannot be obtained (though it should be) then use the sweet oil - ONE DROP. And then keep a warm - not a hot but a warm cloth or pack over same.

Massage into the throat area and over the chest with the penetrating oils; such as a combination of equal parts Oil of Wintergreen and Oil of Pine, and a third part of Sassafras Oil. This last will separate, but shake the three together and then massage - not hard, but over the area of the throat, along the glands of the throat, and down to the lower portion of the bronchi and larynx.

Then we would take internally about ten to twenty drops of Syrup of Squill two or three times a day.

And then keep the body quiet and keep the feet warm.

Well that each day the feet be put in Mustard Water and this rubbed even up to the knees.

Then keep the diet as has been indicated; liquids and semi-liquids - fruits and fruit juices for the body.

(Q) When will the contagious period be over? (A) When it quits scaling!

(Q) Shall he be given the Atomidine, as Dr. Frischkorn advises? (A) Do not give the Atomidine until the inflammation is reduced in the bronchi and the head. THEN the Atomidine would be well, but not so MUCH of it; else we will produce - under the DISTURBED condition - an excess activity in the heart. Not more than six drops in a little water once or twice a day.
