This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of March, 1938, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [2470], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mrs. [2470], Mr. [556], Mrs. [618], Luther Ives and others.]
Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)
-
EC: Yes.
-
As we find, the body - [1519] - is continuing on the improve.
-
There should be now, in the present, rather those precautions as to too great an activity in the open; yet the body must keep in the open. That is, be mindful to not get the feet wet, or not get excessively cold.
-
Greater precautions needs to be taken in the diet that there are blood building foods; as the whole wheat, beef juices, boiled liver, pigs’ feet and the like. These carry the hormones and the gluten that supplies in the assimilating system the better body-building.
-
Regular exercises morning and evening would be well. Not to overtax the system but to make for the proper distributions of the energies as the building up in the bodily forces now continues.
-
The very low electrical vibratory forces of the short wave would be well for the CONTINUING of the healing in those areas where the auditory forces have been disturbed by broken tissue. This will aid also in giving the correct vibratory forces through the body.
-
With these precautions and with these cares, we should find the body continuing on the improve.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What should be done for his ear? (A) As just indicated, keep the low electrical vibratory forces AND the activities of the specific natures; as the setting up exercises a few minutes morning and evening - which of course include the head and neck exercise.
-
(Q) What should be done for his heart, which doesn’t seem to be just right? (A) If there are those precautions taken as indicated, this should become near to normal.
DO NOT give more of the Atomidine in the present.
-
(Q) Is it harmful to bathe his head? (A) If there are the precautions taken that it is dry before it is in drafts of any nature, no. Without same, yes.
-
(Q) Does he need a tonic? (A) Those properties indicated are much better than tonics; that is, those foods that carry such properties. ALTERNATE, of course; these not all to be fed him at once, or too great quantities ever; but let the diet INCLUDE such as these; and we will find these offer the greater tonic.
-
(Q) When should he return to school? (A) We doubt if it would be plausible or better even before the close of this term, but this will depend upon the reactions in the body.
-
(Q) Should he have the 22 gun he is asking for? (A) This should be rather within the desires and wishes of those associated with the body. It is not harmful if used properly, VERY harmful if not!
-
(Q) Should we tax him with his lessons at home? (A) If you make a game of it, it’s very well! If you make it a burden, it’s not so good!
-
We are through with this Reading.

PHYSICIAN’S Report to

Date of Readings: Jan. 20/25, Case No.: 1519-1, Feb. 8, 1938 1519-2, 1519-3
Note: As a research organization we are endeavoring to make a thorough study of psychic information in relation to human ailments. We will deeply appreciate your cooperation in securing a thorough report on this case.
Name: [1519]
(1) (a) Did the Reading presented to you describe the condition of the patient? (b) Explain any variation. (c) Give technical diagnosis. (a) Yes. (b) None. (c) Scarlet Fever.
(2) Were the suggestions for treatment in your opinion proper for this condition? Absolutely so.
(3) For what period of time has the patient followed directions given in the reading under your care? About 8 weeks.
(4) What results have you observed? A complete and perfect recovery, and has overcome a heart complication.
I might add a variation in the difference in the mode of treatment prescribed by the reading to that of the attending physician. Namely: His advice not to bathe at all, and to feed with a complete diet, including meats, and solids. I just could not see that, so I ‘phoned for the Reading, and the Reading gave only a diet of fruit juice and semi-liquids, and advised a tepid bath twice daily with rubs of a formula as directed. I did the bathing of patient myself at noon and again in the evening, and followed the diet. He fell away to a shadow in 10 days time, and I was alarmed, and gave him milk to drink which gave him, shall I say a back-set, then I ‘phoned again, and the reading advised Malted Milk, and then he came out fine.
(5) Comment. While I was greatly distressed at his loss of flesh I, can now, see a great benefit from the loss of that flesh, and from his having had the disease, because he now has more solid and perfect body and general health, all of which I attribute to the treatment thru the Readings.

INDIVIDUAL CASE REPORT
Date of Readings: Jan. 20/25, Case No.: 1519-1, Feb. 8, 1938 1519-2, 1519-3
(PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS CAREFULLY)
(1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Yes, absolutely.
(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? All the symptoms common of Scarlet Fever or Scarlatina were given, but no technical name was given the disease. The condition of sore throat, temperature, rash, etc. were all given in detail.
(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition? The physician’s analysis and blood tests were identical with that given in the Reading. Only, of course, the reading was more detailed.
(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? Yes.
(5) For how long? For a period, I should say of about 5 to 6 weeks.
(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? At the first 3 weeks, he was very ill, then the change for improvement came very gradual until he was able to go into the out-of-doors, then he improved more rapidly. After he was allowed to go out we took him to the Beach for a final reading at which time the reading described his condition of present improvement, and what was needed further to insure perfect convalescence. At this writing he seems to be in almost perfect health, and is heavier than ever he was.
We have followed the diet very rigidly, which included a quart of milk daily.
(7) Comment. My child was very ill with Scarlet Fever showing a heart complication at one time on account of which the last reading advised against his return to school this term, but he improved so fast and was so anxious we decided with the kind co-operation and supervision of his teacher and playmates to let him return to school, which he did, and he has improved and grown weekly, and has made rapid strides in his grade at school. He is 12 years old.
Personally, I feel that no disease is too contagious, incurable, nor hopeless, unless Mr. Edgar Cayce cannot be contacted for a diagnosis. When I visit anyone ill that is always my recommendation and is certainly always the procedure of my own family. I may add further that in the case of Scarlet Fever which is considered so contagious, the city physician, with whom I work, almost, daily advised strongly my sending him to the Contagion Hospital, but I kept daily at my work in the office, attending him at noon, and at night, and not a case of scarlet developed elsewhere from this one. He was taken ill on 1/17/38, and this date is 4/18/38.
