This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of July, 1942, in accordance with request made by the parents - Mr. [849] and Mrs. [1102], Members of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, from those tendencies for sluggishness in the whole of the hepatic circulation, there are inclinations for a disturbance throughout the alimentary canal; a little temperature; tired, languidness; and the inability of proper assimilation of foods taken.

4. We would combine - alternating - broken doses of Syrup of Figs and Castoria; that is, take about half a teaspoonful of the Figs one hour, and half a teaspoonful of the Castoria the next hour, and so on until there is a thorough stirring of the liver.

5. But we would also have, by the masseuse or neuropath or naturopath, a stirring of the centers that cause the activity of the liver. This will produce better, quicker activity, and aid in adjusting the general conditions in the body; removing those tendencies for this to remain sluggish.

6. Of course, during the time, give the body plenty of good, fresh water. Rest, and not overload the body; especially not upon raw vegetables or fruits, but rather using the easily assimilated or pre-digested foods - until there is a thorough stirring of the liver, and then allowing time for a coordination between lungs, liver, heart and kidneys, through the stimulations given.

7. These would bring better conditions for this body.

R1. 7/21/42 Father [849]‘s letter: “[1521] was well last Friday, after being puny for ten days; she seemed all right Saturday and Sunday, but at 3:30 A.M. Monday she went into [1102]‘s room and said, ‘Mommy, I can’t stay in my bed. Those green things will get me.’ She had a temperature of 102.5. At seven A.M. it was 101.4…you can imagine how relieved we were when the reading arrived: we sure thank you for it, and for sending it so promptly. We got the local naturopath to come over (he has been giving [1102] some liver injections) and he read it and said, ‘He didn’t miss it. I don’t understand such things, but I never question them.’ He gave her the adjustment and today she is taking the figs and Castoria. Her temperature is now normal. …Love to all… it is such a relief to see [1521] on the floor with her toys, happy and normal again…what a wonderful lot of good karma you are building…”
