This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 20th day of April, 1938, in accordance with request made by the son-in-law, Mr. [1561], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:10 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes - we have this body here, Mrs. [1553]; this we have had before.

2. As we find, there are some changes that by some, from the external effects, might be considered as being improvements. Yet considering the basic causes and that necessary to give to the nerve system the activities to supply energies for the coordination of the mental forces with the physical activity, or to assist the system through its activity of the glandular and assimilating system to create the necessary elements for the flow in the coordinative activity, we do not find there has been any improvement.

3. The vibratory forces from the Gold, as we have indicated for the body, would be the more effective; as well as the gentle or neuropathic massage - or the naturopathic massage as combined with same - would be the more helpful, the more beneficial things and conditions for this body.

4. We find that these will aid in bringing not a perfect but a nearer normal condition, so that there may be the more rational reactions throughout the body.

5. These then we would do, as has been indicated for this body.

6. Ready for questions.

7. (Q) Do you see an improvement over the condition at the last reading [1553-1]? (A) As just indicated. An improvement is apparent, but as we find it is not of a nature that the causes of the disturbances are improved.

8. (Q) It seems that the nervous system is badly shattered. What is the cure? (A) Well, this is just as we have indicated. It is the lack, as has JUST been given, of the ability of this assimilating system to produce in its activity that necessary to produce a coordination between the mental and physical forces of the body; or for coordination to become nominal between the sympathetic impulses and their reactions.

Hence, as indicated, the vibratory forces from the metals for the production, and the massage to aid in distribution, as we find offer the greater aid.

9. (Q) What will restore “life” to those brain cells which do not function or to energize others which might compensate? (A) As has just been given, again and again!

R1. 5/5/38 HLC’s ltr. to EC: ”…Just talked with [1561] about B Battery for [1553] which was given. There are several kinds of B Battery and many voltages. What should be used? This important so advise checking on it first chance as to kind and voltage. The 22-1/2 was too strong. Might get it in first check reading for our point of view and be sure it is given on all future readings so there will be no mix up.”

R2. 5/9/38 EC’s ltr. to HLC: ”…The battery is like the ones that [257]‘s friend Edelman makes up - that has a regulator on same; can make it any strength that is necessary; uses a 45 volt - but can regulate same by the way charge is set on the machine. Mrs. [189] can get you in touch with the makers, if [257] is not there. I am sure that is the one to work it from. They use B batteries all together in those machines and can be regulated that way…”
