This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 2nd day of April, 1938, in accordance with request made by the relative, Mr. […] [her son], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [1536].

Brigham Hall Time of Reading Hospital, 11:20 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Canandaigua, N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes.

2. Now as we find, while conditions continue to be serious, the greater possibilities and opportunities for relief are offered for the body through care, and the special precautions in nursing that there is not injury to self; and the lowest form of electrical vibrations - such as may be had from the hand violet ray machine, or such an Appliance; with the oil rubs - and the special precautions.

3. Then the nursing, and the suggestions that may be made as the massages are given - these as we find offer the greater opportunities for the relief mentally, physically.

4. The massage would be with an equal combination of Olive Oil, Tincture of Myrrh and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Heat the Oil to add the Myrrh and Benzoin. Massage all the body will absorb, principally over the cerebrospinal system; of course, the joints. And if this becomes a retentive idea to the body, the more this is done the quieter may the body be made - and the reactions are well. Hence this is the occasion (when the massage is given) for the suggestions to be made to the body for quiet and relief.

7. (Q) What are the causes of the present mental and physical conditions? (A) Those as indicated, as we find; a lack of the vital energies to make coordination between cerebrospinal and the sympathetic systems, or the mental and its reacting forces.

8. (Q) Where should the violet ray be applied, or how long? (A) Over the body!

Do these as we find; we will give the better conditions for this body.

To be sure, it is necessary that there be the proper eliminations; but the rubs and the low electrical forces will supply the greater restorative as well as the greater strength for this body.

If there is the continued tendency for the anemic reactions, however, we find that transfusions would be the better - if the general strength is sufficient.

Dear Mr. [1536]-

Have yours of 31st, of course have already undertaken another reading for your Mother [1558], you no doubt have the copy before this, seems there is little to hold to, and have found more often than otherwise hard to get cooperation when one is in hospital unless you have the confidence of the nurse in charge. Certainly hope this the case here, and that the suggestions may be undertaken along that line - know we are anxious to try and help if possible, and will try and keep in touch with your brother, have written him already.

Trust you are feeling much better, please remember me very kindly to Dr. Farrand.

Dear Mr. […] [son of [1558]]

Do hope the suggestions for Mrs. [1558] will be something to which she will respond, apparently there is so little to build on, but do hope she will react favorably to the suggestions. Find it often very hard to get cooperation in the hospitals, unless you can get the help of your nurse.

Know we are quite anxious and can we help please call on us, and we would like to know how she reacts.

R3. 4/13/38 Son [1536]‘s letter: “I just rec’d a wire from my brother saying that he saw my mother yesterday, and that the improvement in her condition is amazing. I feel impelled to write and express my gratitude to you for seeing Mother’s true condition so clearly. I feel certain that her improvement will continue from now on, and I will be forever grateful.”

R4. 4/25/38 Mrs. [1558]‘s brother, Mr. [1578], obtained a Physical Reading.
