GC: You will have before you the enquiring minds of [2246] and [2091], now of Big Sandy and Tyler, Texas, in regard to their interest in Carmerson Corporation which owns and holds leases on some 3000 acres of property located in Smith County, Texas, midway between Big Sandy in Upshur County and Winona in Smith County with the Sabine River forming the Northern boundary of this property. Also you will have before you the conditions and the information which has been given concerning the drilling on this property. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have conditions and developments.
-
As we find, -

Where the location has been made, we would begin the operations with Young.

If those same attitudes are kept which exist in the present, in the forming or letting of the contract, all should be well.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/10/40 Mr. [1561] obtained 1561-11 in re Arizona mining properties.
R2. 4/29/40 [2091]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
I hope you found your sister improved in health and I am wondering whether you have found that you will have leisure to go down to Texas. As far as I can make out from Dr. [2246]‘s letters, the well will be spudded in tomorrow or the day after and the drillers expect to go down in eight or ten days.
I expect to leave for Texas tomorrow evening by train, [1561] having been unable to go down with his car. There is also the loss of time to be considered.
As things are now, I propose to wire you how things are going at the end of the week and to send, at the same time, an invitation to you to come down by train, at least for a day or two or for whatever time you can spare, to stay with us at the plantation. I know from Dr. [2246] that conditions there will be somewhat primitive, if you don’t mind. Mrs. [2174] and Mrs. […] will fly down and stay at the plantation too at the end of the week.
We are gathering together the shares which we are very happy to contribute to you. There will be a minimum of thirty of these. Would it be possible for you to set aside another period for a check reading this week-end or later in connection with the fact that drilling will already have been started in a definite location? We should want to confirm the fact that at this particular spot, coring should begin at 4,079 ft. as the reading previously suggested, adding a question about the depth at which oil would be found and for general interest, the volume we may expect. I remember the other well you told about in which the volume was foretold within ten barrels.
Will you be so kind as to wire collect to Box …, Big Sandy, Texas, about the possibility of having a reading and about the chances of your being able to come down for a few days by train. I shall be in Big Sandy Thursday.
With kindest regards and best wishes,
Yours very sincerely, [2091]

B2. 4/3/40 Questions submitted in [2091]‘s wire: Most favorable drilling proposal comes from J. S. Young in association with Richards and Holloway of Tyler, next most attractive being that of A. N. Landes of Kilgore. Which is preferable? We have selected location 600 feet North bearing East 100 feet. Does this meet required conditions?
