Born April 2, 1885, in Omaha, Nebraska. Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City.

1. HLC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: (In going back over the years from the present - ” - ‘33 - yes - ‘18 - yes - ‘99 - yes - ” etc., on back to birth date.)

3. Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2091].

4. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them, much may be given respecting the influences the entity may bear through this experience upon lives individually and collectively; the greater urges arising from an experience of the entity sojourning through a Persian and Arabian appearance.

5. But these interpretations are chosen with the desire and and purpose that this may be a helpful influence in aiding the entity to fulfil the purposes for which it entered this present experience.

6. For, as is understood by the entity, each soul has a definite purpose, a definite force to manifest in its associations with its fellow man. These, to be sure, are prompted by the experiences of the entity in which it has applied that chosen as its ideals through material as well as astrological sojourns.

7. For, as the body, mind and soul are one, in the entity’s associations with materiality urges arise that are of the earth-earthy, of the mind-mental, and of the spiritual import. Yet no urge surpasses the will of an individual entity.

8. Thus a soul, an entity, may make its environ, its urge, its activity, to conform to that which is held as the pattern in the inmost self of the spiritual nature builded in the mental aspects, manifested in the material and physical associations.

9. In the astrological aspects, - these do not in the present, as we find, run to that form ordinarily accredited to astrological associations. For as we find, as indicated here, what an entity does or has done is rather that which, - as a co-creator of circumstance, - may govern or influence the aspects even of the astrological forces about an entity’s sojourn.

10. We find in the earth these are as influences innate and manifested in the experience of this entity:

11. Jupiter is as the greater ruling influence or force. And as Jupiter with Venus and Uranus and Mars are in an influence in the earth to a great extent, these urges - innately and manifestedly - will influence those, as more of a manifested experience, who have had sojourns through such an environment.

12. The Jupiterian influence is the universality of thought and purpose and desire towards others, in a beneficent or benevolent manner, rather than in a selfish manner or in dominations, or in controlling the activities or the life of others by might or power.

13. Hence from this urge we will find manifested in this entity’s experience in the present that of brotherly love, the thought of others; yet, in a manner, capable of expressing or manifesting self in such a way as to influence the activities of others, - but of an unselfish nature.

14. The greater influence, then, in the experience of the entity, is that of selflessness. This is a virtue that needs to be magnified more in the abilities which naturally arise from this urge; as an organizer of specific or special activity, - as a writer, or a lecturer, organizing definite thought or purpose. These then only need to be tempered with that more of the brotherly love.

15. And these arise within the next year to a greater extent than will be within some periods, in this particular sojourn.

16. In Uranus we find the extremes; though the entity finds self in the associations of others who have more the experience of the extremes than the entity itself. Thus the advice, the counsel, the direction in such activities will also be seen through the periods as will be indicated by the very positions of these through the next year to two years in the experience of the entity.

17. This also brings a close association with things, conditions, experiences which arise from NATURAL sources, NATURAL means, natural intents and purpose; as from nature’s storehouse itself.

18. These, especially in a materialistic thought, become great extremes to the mind or thought of those who are material-minded.

19. Thus we find the interest of things that are of metaphysical nature, as well as physiological, or the combination of these we find of special interest to the entity - latently and manifestedly.

20. As these are under the benevolent forces of the Jupiterian influence, there needs to be within the experience and activity of the entity, within the next two years, a greater expansion of thought in those directions; in the establishing more of centers where such thoughts may be put to the practical application in the EXPERIENCES of those under varied environments.

21. For, as the vibratory forces of nature with individual thought and purpose become a part of the urge for the physical aspects in dealings with the fellow man, such are needed more and more in the varied centers that may be a part of the entity’s experience throughout this land.

22. As to the appearances of the entity in the earth, - these have been more scattered, or with long periods or lapses between the material sojourns. Hence we find that while the entity is sensitive to the high vibration of spiritual natures or spiritual forces, it is not of a sentimental nature; more of the philosophical or logical nature, as they become a part of the entity’s field or force, and the activities for the expression of others in their relationships to their own problems, or to their own relationships to others. These become to the entity, - not lack of sentiment, but more of thought and purpose.

23. As has been an experience of the entity through this sojourn, - it is not so much to do a thing to see what would happen, but know or feel, at least, there is an understanding of that being sought, and then in a logical manner from a spiritual point of reasoning approach same in a consistent way.

24. This has been, then, a developing experience for the entity; and needs only the furthering of same to bring the greater growth, the greater awareness, and to leave that which will make the earth and those within same BETTER for the entity having labored therein.

25. Before this the entity was in the earth during the periods of the settlings of the lands of which the entity is a native in the present sojourn; as those activities towards the developing of various portions of the lands for special activity in the production of the needs of man, with the growing and developing of the land.

26. Then in the name Silas Trent, the entity was associated and affiliated not only with the settlers from the eastern lands, but was acquainted with the habits and the use of the forms of spiritual as well as material activities of the natives of the lands that are now a portion of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas.

27. And the knowledge of, the seeking for minerals, as well as herbs, as well as all of nature’s storehouse which would supply the activity for the soil and its effect upon varied forms of food for man as well as beast, became the actions of the entity through the experience.

28. Not always was the entity understood by his fellow men, yet it was a developing period throughout that sojourn in the material plane.

29. From those experiences we find in the present that such developments of its native land, as well as of many lands, are of interest to the entity; and nature, the desires and the fulfilling of bodily activity, as to how these may be coordinated, becomes a study, a thought of the entity through this sojourn.

30. Before that we find there was the earthly sojourn which is nearer in keeping with the activities of the entity that may be the greater power and influence in the present experience of the entity.

31. It was in the period when there were the developments in the ‘city in the hills and the plains,’ when there had been - through the teachings of Uhjltd - those activities which had brought the better understanding to peoples of many lands, as to a union of thought for the conservation of power and strength towards the making of ALL lands better and safer for man’s indwelling.

32. The entity then was an offspring of Uhjltd in that experience, - known as Ujndt. [See 538-32 on 7/19/32, Par. 15-A indicating that Ujhilld? (no doubt Ujndt) became the military leader before Zan (Zend) rose to position of spiritual leader.]

33. And, in the periods that set in when there were the attempts of the peoples from Greece, as well as portions of Persia and Chalde, to overcome or to surpass, or to usurp the authorities which had been established through the groups in that ‘city in the hills and the plains,’ the entity carried on; and brought those influences and forces which made it possible for the Zoroaster reaction to come into being.

34. Hence things and conditions and experiences of man became the study of the entity through that sojourn; as to the variations between those who were of the nomad peoples (of which the entity’s own parentage had been), who sought only for the existence of the day and the preservation of life for only the satisfaction and aggrandizing of the body-appetites and those who were merchants and tradesmen from the Indian as well as Egyptian land, as well as the now Indo-China or Hun land, and the worshipers of the sun in the Gobi land. All of those became a part of the study of the entity; in the attempt to keep a unified activity and thought for the making of those places or centers that would bring hope and cheer, and understanding, in the mental sphere, the material activity, and the spiritual hopes of the peoples.

35. Thus, as has been indicated, the greater activities in the present lie in those directions in which there are the thoughts and studies of groups and individuals; in which there is the greater unification of things of the natural sources, natural means, to meet the needs of the changing bodies, - to bring to individuals, to groups as well as the masses, a better manner of living one with another; as well as creating the environment in which there may be the unison of purpose of those who think to do good NOT in an indulgent or selfish way or manner.

36. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land, during those periods of turmoils and strife which arose with the banishment of the Priest and the entrance of those from the Atlantean land into Egypt.

37. The entity was among those of the first group born in the Egyptian land of the Atlanteans who were of the children of the Law of One.

38. There the entity, through the reconstruction periods, was trained in, and aided in, what might be termed as giving the varied groups and individuals their vocational guidance, - in which there might be a better united effort on the part of all to fill that part in material experience in which they were especially fitted through nature or natural sources.

39. Hence we find the entity was among those associated especially in the Temple of Sacrifice, as the first preparations for the experiences of individuals in making the natural choice by their reactions to the physical conditions brought about by mental AND spiritual reaction in their dealings one with another, as well as with the elements of the earth and the circumstance of environment.

40. Then the entity was in the name Esh-mel.

41. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, and that to which it may attain, and how:

42. As has been indicated, who may tell one who has chosen well as to choices to make?

43. Rather, study to show self approved in all good consciousness to that which is thy ideal, in the material relationships, in the mental activities, in the spiritual purposes and manners.

44. In the fields of service of organization, of writing, of lecturing, may such activities be carried forward to the greater fulfilling of that which will bring to the entity the awareness of the closer relationships to the All-Creative-Force within the experience in the present sojourn.

45. Ready for questions.

46. (Q) What publisher would you suggest for my book on the social question, “Equalitarian Democracy”? (A) Knopf. Or, this may be presented through an agent who has associations with many publishers. But as we find, Knopf and Company is a channel through which such would receive recognition and be well presented.

47. (Q) What person or persons would you suggest that I make contact with, for the most effective presentation of the ideas presented under this title, “Equalitarian Democracy”? (A) First, it would be well that same be presented to the public. Let the reaction come, - and through this reaction there will be found those in various sections who are in need of just such activities in their OWN environments, as may be fitted to the needs of the circumstances in such centers or groups.

48. (Q) Through what group or groups could these ideas be most effectively presented in this country? (A) As has been indicated, those groups that would be within the scope of the ideas presented, or that will indicate their interest through the presenting of the ideals in such publications, see? This should be, - as it should be in the purpose of every individual activity towards creative influences: Sow the seed, and not impel. For, as the seed is sown, only God - and the spirit of truth - may give the increase Those persuaded, or those induced by the hope of personal gain or the exploiting of self, only become influences to wreck sooner or later. It is only as the growth of such ideals expand in the minds of those who desire to hold in their activities the good, that may become the help and the hope for their fellow man and not for self, that the lasting value comes.

Let that which has prompted thee, in thy activities through the sojourns in the present, keep and hold thee. Let the faith which has prompted thee be held, knowing that God giveth the increase.

When the dates for your visit to New York are definitely fixed, I hope you will let us know, also giving us the time when you might visit the farm. The friends there will be delighted to entertain you and it only takes about an hour to get to … from here, by car.

Dr. [2246] is in Texas trying to get in touch with Mr. Hunt about the drilling. He was suggested that I go down to be there on the 28th for which time he expects to arrange the interview with Mr. Hunt [H. L. Hunt, Sr.] I hope to be back on the 7th of April. This need not interfere with your trip to the farm, but I am still hoping that I may be in New York when you come.

My manuscript came back from Knopf, the publishers, with regrets that they could not publish it, but when I saw them and left it, they said it was too short to make a book of commercial size. Therefore, I am adding several chapters.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Thank you very much for the good wishes for Christmas and the New Year from you and Mrs. Cayce. You did not get a card from me because I have abandoned sending cards. This letter, a little late, will have to do instead.

All this winter I have been working-over my book and now it is about twice as long as it was and, I think, a good deal smoother to read. When I showed it to Knopf last, they turned it down, but mentioning at the time I showed it to them, that it was too short. Therefore, I think I shall try them again now… [Deleted paragraph used in [1561] series Reports.]

I have been wanting to ask you whether you got and read the book, “The Great Rock” and whether you have any information that makes you think the story may be well founded. We are looking forward to your next visit to the farm when the weather is warmer.

Dear Mr. [2091]

Mighty glad to have yours of the 14th - most interesting to know they are still working round the property in Texas - am sure there is production there on your property - and feel one day it will prove its self.

Am sure you have found real joy in working over your book - hope you have it now just like you wish it, and that you will find little trouble in getting a Publisher. Would by all means show it to Knopf again.

Haven’t heard from Dr. [2246] since he went to Cal. though have written him, have been a bit uneasy as the last heard seemed all were ill.

Yes - I received a copy of “The Great Rock” but haven’t asked any questions regarding the prophecies as yet. In fact had a bit of a spell just after Christmas was out for a week or so and it put me behind with my work and correspondence am just beginning to catch up.

H. L. was called to go to army for the 10th of Jan. Then the local board considered his work here in the building and the indexing programme and gave him until June to try and get it finished up, so he is working hard on that we wish to get it running in order if possible - do hope we can do it - need a lot of help tho.

Wish to try first chance and see what may be given regards the predictions in the Book - if such things should be answered in a reading - will when can get chance.

Mrs. C. has been ill for a week - soon after we came back from N.Y. she received a bad fall. Then when she took Flu, recently seems the cold settled in her eye that has given her trouble - and she is suffering a great deal with it.

Dear [288]:

I have been snowed under with income tax during the last couple of weeks and am only now getting caught up. It was very nice of you to send me a copy of your reading, [288-48, Persian period of Uhjltd] which interested me very much. So you had two sons, going in two directions. If I was one, have you run across the other? I should be interested to see him or her. I wonder too, whether I went off on the theological tack or in the other direction.

I have been thinking of getting a health reading sometime when Mr. Cayce is not busy. It isn’t that I am sick, but as one gets older, one wonders what to do or not to do in order best to know how to keep going on. My book is being read by a publisher out west and we are holding on to our oil lands, awaiting possible developments. Has Mr. Cayce any information about wars or “Great Rocks” or other news? Please give him and Mrs. Cayce and Hugh Lynn my kindest regards. I am glad you liked Dr. Steiner’s St. John. He has another series of lectures on the Gospel of St. Matthew in which he tells of the early wars between Iranians and Turanians. Would that interest you?

Dear Mr. Cayce:

It was very nice to hear from you and now I see that you are to be in New York almost immediately. I have not been in touch with Mrs. [2174] for a week or so but when last I talked with her I understood she had one of our famous oil negotiators [Geo. L. Marquess] coming to see her. This man is now here, I believe, and so you will doubtless meet. I shall be greatly interested to hear what you think of him and to know whether he has a reading.

Speaking of readings, there are two pieces of unfinished business on my mind which I should like to complete when occasion arises. The one is a health reading for myself so as to find out my weak spots and to learn how best to keep myself in good health for whatever job I may have to do. The second would be to get supplementary details which might be interesting to fill in the gaps in my Persian and other incarnations. For instance, a phrase was used somewhere to the effect that I was connected with “a Zarathustra reaction”. I should like to know more about this period and how, in detail, this period plays over into the present incarnation. I have said something of all this to [288].

Around the 15th of this month, when the Japanese Diet meets and when Mr. Kurusu will be here, and when Mars, which I associate with the Japanese, ceases to retrograde, I imagine we shall have some fairly fateful decisions in regard to the Far East. Do you think we shall have war with Japan?
