This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 7th day of October, 1938, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1561], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of Mr. [1561], …, N.Y.C., who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his interest in the release of metals and minerals. You will consider at this time the Carmerson Corporation which owns and holds leases on some three thousand acres of property located in Smith County, Texas. You will advise Mr. [1561] if he should devote his time and energies in endeavoring to interest capital in this Carmerson Corporation’s oil properties in Texas. You will answer the questions he submits, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, Mr. [1561]; also the interests in nature’s storehouse, and the specific activity in the operations of Carmerson Corporation in its search for oil.

3. In giving advice or counsel to an entity such as this, under the conditions and circumstances, many conditions are to be taken into consideration.

4. First - the validity of the operative forces of the Carmerson Corporation. There should be in this connection, as we find, a little better comprehension by the entity of the policies and purposes of the directors of this Corporation.

5. If it is the intent and purpose for the Corporation to remain an independent corporation, and to develop its holdings to a productive area, and then dispose of same to those that hold the greater manner or way of outlet for the use of same, it is well to interest self.

6. If the purpose is that it is to remain an independent and OPERATIVE corporation, then there becomes too many loopholes, too many ways in which those whom the body might impress or whose confidence he might gain - for them to invest in same - to lose such. And this would mean to the entity the loss of self’s OWN comprehension, self’s own respect in a way and manner.

7. Hence as we would give, first - such as this should be determined in the mind of the body before it makes too great an effort, or becomes too insistent in obtaining funds for the carrying on of the project there.

8. That there is production to be obtained in the deeper areas of the whole of the Corporation makes, as we find, without a doubt a good proposition.

9. The policies and the manners of handling, then, become rather the problem for the Corporation.

10. As to the desires, the interests of the entity in all the products of nature’s storehouse - as minerals, as oils, as ANY of the products that are a part of this - as we have indicated, these are the channels through which the entity may gain the greater opportunities for self-expression.

11. As to how and in what manner these are to be USED, when obtained, is the part of the entity’s problems.

12. Again, in considering the proposition of the entity interesting itself in the Carmerson Corporation - in the PRESENT these are advisable from one angle, - that is, the needs of the entity in its immediate activity in and about the home environ and surroundings; as well as among its friends, associates and activities in the immediate present.

13. But as to how great may be the entity’s interest SHOULD be dependent upon the final POLICY of those who DIRECT or carry on with this Corporation.

14. Ready for questions.

15. (Q) If this policy is found satisfactory to the entity, should he devote his time and energies in endeavoring to interest capital? (A) As we have indicated!

16. (Q) Will this venture be profitable for the purposes determined upon? (A) As we have indicated, if the policy is of one nature - No! If it is of another nature, Yes!

17. (Q) Can this financing be done and can names and addresses be given of one or more persons who would be interested in financing this venture? (A) Who is to do financing? The entity or the universal sources which have only the interests that ARE of a constructive nature? These would NOT be given! These are a part of the entity’s work!

18. (Q) Any further advice? (A) Look into self as to purposes, as to policies - and if it is that as ye would have done to YOU, then hold fast!

R6. 1/30/40 Mr. [2091]‘s letter:

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Our oil prospects are again looking brighter and since you warned us about other interests which might try to get our land, and since also, we were not satisfied with the integrity of some of the men who drilled and tested for us last time, I [it] occurred to me that we might have another reading from you.

Just recently a lady [Mrs. [2174]] who is as high-minded about what she would do with money as the rest of us, as well as others with similar ideas, have put up enough money to drill a new well to the shallow level of about 5,000 feet. Therefore, we expect to go to Texas soon and make arrangements with a driller.

I have the name of the driller recommended by a friend, who is said to be a “Rosicrucian”, Mr. J. S. Young, at the Heard Hotel, Kilgore, Texas. Another man who has acquired the neighboring land to ours and who is a rich oil operator, a Mr. Hunt, has, through a third party, said that he would drill for us to the shallow level at $2.00 a foot. We don’t know whether he is the right man or not because he is so close to us. He might be interested in bringing in a good well, or he might, on the other hand, hope that our land might sometime fall to him if we failed. We do not know him personally. [2246] also has the name of still another driller.

Are you so busy that you could not give a reading for us this week-end? […] is away in Boston until tomorrow but we had the thought that he might stop in to see you on his way to Texas next Saturday or Sunday, or we might both come. Would you be so kind as to let us know if you would be available then? If there is no time for a letter, perhaps you could wire me, collect.
