This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of June, 1942, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1745], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:05 A. M. Eastern War Time.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before.
-
As we find, the general condition - or the state of the conditions in kidney - are not more serious than when last we had same here. There are SOME improvements; though at times there is a great deal of discomfort to the body.
-
There has been the consideration, we find, of those treatments under the institution in Glen Rose, Texas.
-
Here we find that not only the baths but also the character of treatments would be beneficial, if there is used ONLY the gentle massage AND the magnetic treatment.
-
Much might be said about the water and the treatments of the hydrotherapy nature here; also the diets.
-
DO NOT become entangled in some other subjects that are at times presented at this institution, but the treatments for the kidney disturbance WOULD prove most beneficial and MAY enable the body to eliminate same WITHOUT operative forces.
-
Then, we would entertain the considerations of such treatments, as soon as practical, at Glen Rose.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there any other agent that will cause the body to absorb this stone? (A) Of course, as we have indicated, there are other measures. These, however, would be the better agencies in the present - if there is the ability, the time, and if the body does NOT become involved, see?
-
We are through for the present.

Yours of the 3rd - just had the opportunity to get the information this morning - do hope all will work out fine for you - am sure should tell you, have met Dr. Snyder and several of his helpers and know Glen Rose very well. If this is the best place, wonder why it had not been suggested before - but do believe Mr. [1745] you will get real help there.
Would like very much to hear from you when you go there and know how you like it, and how you get on.
Sincerely hoping all will work out fine and with all good wishes
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
Am hoping to see [1100] and [470] next week, think they will be here to a meeting.

R4. 6/18/42 [1745]‘s letter to EC:
…, Texas
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Received the reading and also your letter of the 10th Inst. am sorry Mr. Cayce, but the information that came through was not DEFINITE enough in regards Glen Rose for me to take any further chances on relief by any other means than an operation. So have arranged with Dr. Hayes here to take the stone out next Thursday June 25th P.M. The signs, according to the almanac, seem to be just right for an operation on the kidney at this time. I know [1100] (Sis) is there by now and I would appreciate you discussing this with her and if you two can find any reason why this operation should not be done on this day please let me know in time.
Dr. Hayes is an excellent kidney surgeon, the only trouble I can find with him is that he is too busy, I tried to get an earlier day in the week, but he had twelve (12) operations booked for Mon., Tues., and Wed. and could not get to me until Thursday. He performs the surgery for several diagnosticians.
Sure hope you have a lovely meeting this year, take care of that sis of mine while she is there.
With best wishes for you and each member of the association, I am
Very truly yours [1745]
Tell [1100] I will write her so that she will have a letter when she gets home.
R5. 6/23/42 EC’s letter to [1745]:
Dear Mr. [1745]:
Thanks for yours of the 18th - can fully understand your indecision about the last reading. Hope you have come along alright and all is well. Mrs. [1100] and [470] are here. I gave [1100] your letter - and expect you heard from her already.
Just hope all is well and everything works out fine - just know we are all praying with and for your speedy recovery.
We had a very nice meeting, hope some of these days to have you with us for some of these meetings.
Thanking you and May HIS Grace and Blessings keep you and with all good wishes
Sincerely [signed] Edgar Cayce
R6. 6/27/42 Sister [1100]‘s ltr.: “He came thru alright, and the Dr. said he did not have to cut into the kidney.”
R7. 7/1/42 EC’s ltr.: “Don’t see how they got a stone out of kidney without cutting…must have been smaller than expected …hope it corrected the cause, else he will continue to have trouble.”
R8. 7/17/42 Sister [1100]‘s letter: “My brother [1745] is apparently getting along nicely. It seems that the Dr. made the incision and then was able to probe the stone out, in some manner. It was small - slightly larger than a pea.”
R9. 9/20/48 Letter indicates he is having similar pains to those he had when he obtained his first Physical Reading - See under 1745-2 Reports.
R10. 11/7/57 Sister [1100] reported: “My brother, [1745], died about two weeks ago with coronary thrombosis.”
