GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions which have been submitted, as I ask them.
-
EC: Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What should be done for bad cold? (A) As we find, we would alkalize the system; by the gentle massage over the chest, stomach, abdomen and through the shoulders with Camphorated Oil; giving small doses of Castoria until there is the full elimination of the cold. Give three to four drops about every half hour - Fletcher’s Castoria.
About once a day, until it can be detected in the odor from the stool, give one drop of Glyco-Thymoline. This will prevent the cold forming any form of congestion through the colon, and act well upon the digestive system; tending to reduce the inclination for gas formation.
- (Q) Does the formula agree with him, for his food? (A) This is fair. Rather is it the attempt to combine OTHER foods or things WITH same that causes the trouble. This as we find should NOT be attempted; to give the orange juice; for another four to six weeks - and then very small quantities of same.
More of lime water will be beneficial to the body in its assimilation, with the food values formerly used, AND supplying calcium for the body in its developing of bone as well as structural portions and teeth. About three to five drops added in each bottle just before it is taken.
-
(Q) How about Cod Liver Oil? How much should be given him? (A) This should not be in great quantities; and we find that as has been suggested is about the correct proportion in the present. However, if there will be used a little of the Cod Liver Oil in that rubbed over the body - not just baby oil but a combination of same with the Cod Liver Oil, you see - it will be MOST beneficial.
-
(Q) Has navel healed properly? (A) This as we find, unless a great deal of cold or congestion arises, will be very good. Be well if a band be occasionally used about the body, with a little cocoa butter on same; especially if there is cold.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions for the welfare of this body? (A) Do not overfeed, but keep those things furnishing sufficient to supply the needs of the body.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/25/39 Mother [480]‘s letter to Mrs. Cayce and Gladys Davis: “I want to write the same thing to both of you, hence the one letter. The little gifts you sent [1788] are adorable and we all want you to know how very sweet we thought the sweater and pillow case were, more than that, that they came from you both. I know you are all helping to watch over our darling to make him the little image of Mother and all the fine things she was. The baby is so luscious - he looks like a butter ball - and looks around and follows us. He knows my voice and gives me one of his rare toothless grins when I talk to him. He weighed 10 pounds, 10 ounces on Monday. His color is very good. [1788] had a rash on his chin which rather perturbs me, so I called his pediatrician today, I expect her (my obstetrician’s wife) any time now. If it doesn’t disappear I’ll wire you. We left off the orange juice and he seems quite contented, no gas. His cold left him very quickly - you might take a check on him anyway and ask when the cereal should be started, what kind and how much and at what time during the day would be best? You can get the reading any time convenient to you.
“We are looking forward to the Life reading anxiously, that’s the nicest gift he could receive from Mr. Cayce.
“Mrs. [1773] (who got a reading) called me yesterday. She wanted a little bolstering, I suppose. I told her to be patient and wait for a month or two before getting another reading. She is impatient for results and of course, not feeling any sensation from the battery. She feels as though it isn’t working. I tried to explain how it works to her.
“[1100] hasn’t been at all well - I hope she responds soon. Dr. Thompson John R. Thompson, D.O.] has been out of town so her treatments haven’t been kept up.
“Give my love to Mr. Cayce and Hugh Lynn and love to you both…
“I’ll send you a picture of [1788] as soon as I get it.”
