-
HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [1789], this we have had before.
-
As we find, conditions are developing WONDERFULLY toward the normal activities for the body.
-
However, as we have indicated, that there may be better coordination, better activities in the actions between the impulses of the mental and the physical self, the low electrical forces that will carry the strengthening impulse to the nervous system will be most beneficial.
-
Thus we will find that the body will not tire so, and there will be more animation to the activities of the body; with less periods (that arise at times) when there is needed such a stimulation from others concerned about the body.
-
We would take these low electrical forces of a static nature, carrying the vibration of Chloride of Gold for the body. The attachments would be made in this manner: The small copper plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal center, while the larger nickel plate, through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold to each ounce of Distilled Water), would be attached to the lacteal and umbilical center, - or three fingers from the umbilical plexus toward the right, and one finger up - from the line as would be found there.
-
Attach the Appliance for only twenty minutes each day for the first fifteen days. Then leave off for three days. Then, (with the new Gold Solution) attach it for thirty minutes each day for the next fifteen day period.
-
Then leave off the Appliance for three weeks.
-
Then, changing the Gold Solution and recharging the battery solution, use it again for thirty minutes each day for at least another whole thirty day period; changing the Gold Solution after each fifteen treatments, however.
-
About three times each week, preferably as the body is prepared for rest of evening or night, we find it will be most helpful to gently massage into the system all the body will absorb of an equal combination of Olive Oil and Peanut Oil; especially across the sacral and the lower portion of the spine. This should extend, of course, UP the spine to the 9th dorsal, but more in the sacral, lumbar, than in the upper portions of the body. We find this should be done not hurriedly, not as something to be gotten through with, but take twenty or thirty minutes to give such a massage. This will be helpful in keeping better equilibrium and activities to portions of the body, and make for more regularity with the activities of the organs of the system.
-
Do these, and, - as we have indicated, - we will find the abilities of the entity in those directions of its bringing into the experiences of others joy, happiness, and the preserving for others those activities that are as a helpful, hopeful experience in the mental and the imaginative forces, - and will be outlets and channels for better conditions.
-
Do that.
-
(Q) What is the cause of the trouble in the nose, and what should be done for it? (A) Purely sympathetic; and with the vibrations from the properties indicated through the Appliance (which has been neglected, in those things suggested heretofore), we will bring normalcy and these conditions will disappear.
-
(Q) Are any further osteopathic treatments needed at this time? (A) No further osteopathic treatments are needed at this time, IF the massage is given in the areas indicated.
-
(Q) Any other suggestions at this time? (A) Do these. Keep the attitude of helpfulness and hopefulness to others. Put away hate and malice, suspicion of others. Trust in the LORD! for thy strength cometh from Him.
-
We are through with this Reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. GD’s memo: In April, 1940, at the Harrison home in Bronxville, N.Y., EC posed for a portrait by [1789].
R2. 5/8/40 Letter from [1789]: ”…My humblest apology for not having sent you the picture as yet. I fully realize how anxious you must be. I have tried several places but was not satisfied.
“The cause for this delay is really because I have been feeling so very tired and listless. At the most a week or two you shall have your picture. In the meantime, please be patient with me and wait a little longer. [2268] has been laid up, and I just did not feel like going out alone with it.
“Had a very unpleasant experience one night at the entrance of our house, that put me back quite a bit. I was so frightened.
“Most anxious to start the treatments as I have very much faith in it and expect the greatest benefit from them.
“It seems that we are both waiting for something. You for the picture, I for the treatments. Here is hoping that we both get our wish very soon…”
R3. 5/25/40 Letter from [1789]: ”…You will be delighted to hear that your portrait is being attended to at last. We thought it would be rather fun for Mrs. Cayce to have it addressed to her with a card from me in the package.
“We had a difficult time getting something suitable for the portrait. The three of us finally set out together. We hope you will all like it.
“No matter how much I experimented with a mat, it just did not look right. I really think it looks much better without one.
“You will receive it sometime next week.
“A friend of yours had an inspiration - the result - you are not to trouble yourself with the money, for it is intended as a gift.
“We planned this as a surprise.
“[2268] received your letter this morning and is very happy about the 30th. She is going to be home at the appointed hour and meditate. She appreciates deeply your quick response. She is sending her thanks in advance, and is forever grateful to you.
“We are wondering what is delaying the appliance.
“Did you enjoy the vacation and also have a rest?…”
R4. 9/3/40 Letter from [1789]: ”…How are you? I have been thinking often of you. Have tried to write many times only to tear it up.
“I have not done any art work this summer. Have not had any inclination as yet. We spend a great deal of time in the park because our business was very slow, almost nothing. It looks like it will liven up soon, as the schools are opening.
“The dear little children - have watched them in Washington Square all summer. Actually got acquainted with some, and their parents, they are such darlings. I also read a few books. Am still elected main shopper for the family. Mother helps me when not busy, which she was not for sometime now. She feels rather lost, likes to take care of the little darlings. She gets so used to them that she misses some greatly. They are very amusing too.
“I have been suffering greatly with my nose; wrote Hugh Lynn about it, mentioning that the treatments supposed to eliminate this condition, but failed to hear from him; nor did we receive the recharge.
“At times it almost seems I will never get through with these treatments. It is unfortunate that it had to get lost like that.
“It is rather embarrassing to have to write to you about it. You certainly understand how anxious one is to complete a treatment that would stop all that sneezing that I am still going through, since I wrote to Hugh Lynn, and even earlier than that. It is very weakening and discouraging.
“Yesterday I had a very bad day of it - my eyes felt as if I were cutting onions. Hardly slept at all last night.
“It is not quite fair to your work - the readings - to leave things unfinished like that.
“I would very much like to know if I could still expect to receive it, as undoubtedly there will come a time when I will be in the position to repay for all things done for me, as it is only just to do so. I could have been all through by now, feeling like a different person, much more useful and better spirited.
“Dear Mr. Cayce, can we throw out the old box from the first appliance that was not used? Have been tempted to many times, but would not do so without your permission. Did throw the glass jar away though. It was hopelessly broken.
“I shall be very glad to hear from you in the near future…”
R5. 1/11/41 Letter from [1789]‘s sister [2268]: ”…About the appliance, [1789] just finished the last recharge according to her reading. Of course, the whole thing was so delayed and prolonged. We are able to get more of the recharge ourselves, like we did the last one. The treatments have done her an awful lot of good. Do you advise to repeat the complete procedure again, once or more, before getting another check reading? I think it would be a sensible thing to do…”
R6. 3/31/41 Letter from [1789]‘s sister [2268]: ”…[1789] has just started another recharge…”
R7. 6/5/41 She obtained Check Physical reading 1789-9.
