This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 27th day of June, 1939, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [1942], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Mich.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes (Some unusual arrangements as to the furnishing of the room here), we have the body, [1942].
-
Now as we find, those suggestions that would be made for this body - as to the physical forces of same - would be rather in the form of warnings, and to take advantage of same, that those inclinations and tendencies may be forestalled that are arising from time to time.
-
In many respects there are very good reactions in the system. But there is the inclination for the slowing up of the vital energies, owing to the indication of the metabolism becoming disturbed; in that there are toxic forces which bring about disorders, through the lack of the vitamins and elements that would produce a better or more normal activity to the circulatory forces of the body.
-
These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [1942] we are speaking of:
-
The blood supply indicates the toxic forces, the slowing of the vitality, the lack of the resistance as may be had from the vital forces or vitamins B-a, as well as the lack of iron supply in the system for the activity of the glandular forces as related to the blood stream itself for a balance of the nerve energies for not only the respiratory system but the abilities for the coordination between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal nervous forces.
-
As we find, then, as would be indicated for the body - that we may relieve these disturbances in these directions, or eliminate these inclinations and tendencies, and thus relieve the condition that causes a portion of the pains in portions of the stomach and abdomen (not of great extent, but the awareness and the inclinations for these to cause anxiety):
-
We would first use the hydrotherapy treatments, - as the colonic irrigations, the fume baths, especially with pine oil, - following same with the hot and cold water - and especially the sitz baths.
-
These as we find will relieve those tendencies through the hips and through the lower portion of the abdomen for this anxiety and the nerve tension; as well as will the taking internally of those properties as a tonic, in the compound known as Codiron. For the first month, take only one pellet at each meal. The second month, take two at each meal. Then leave off for a month. Then begin over again, - one at each meal. Unless the meal is eaten, do not take the tablet. And these are to be taken at the meal, - not before nor after, but during the meal; that the properties here would work with the system.
-
We would take four of the hydrotherapy treatments for the first month, about one each week, you see; and then they may be a little farther apart, - every other week rather than each week.
-
Do these, and we will bring the better influences and forces for this body of [1942].
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through for the present.

Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Replying to your favor of the 13th with enclosures, would say that I am enclosing the Questionnaire filled in and signed.
I note that you have completed the offices and fire proof vault. This was very much needed as you say and I am glad that the work has been done before the data has been lost to the world. You are also in shape to go ahead and put the records in serviceable files for your members to study.
I am glad to know that a New York Publisher has had the courage to undertake the publishing of your Father’s life and work. I hope that this will have a wide distribution, and that the scientific worlds will undertake an investigation for much good can result from same.
Enclosed find cheque for $20.00 to assist in the work of putting the records in condition to be examined by those that are interested.
I can’t say yet, but Mrs. […] and I may be able to spare time to spend a few days in Florida. If we do this we will certainly call on you and spend some time in your study room.
With Christmas Greetings, and all good wishes for the coming year I remain, Yours sincerely [1942]

Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
I was a friend of Dr. Dorr Eldred Wood of Chicago, with whom you had some correspondence in the year 1931.
Dr. Wood passed on in the year 1935, and through my Wife who was Dr. Wood’s assistant at the time your letter was received, I am in possession of a letter you wrote Dr. Wood on 10/10/1931, also a Testimonial bulletin.
I have just finished reading the above, and would be pleased to have you mail me such information and reading matter as is now available concerning the Cayce Hospital in your City.
We are very much interested in Spiritual healing, and expect some day to visit the East Coast, and get acquainted with you and your good work.
From at least one of the testimonials I am led to believe that you diagnose the condition of a patient AT A DISTANCE. Such being the case be kind enough to advise me if Michigan is too far away from your City to render service, and again if you can diagnose prospective patients in this State, what charges do you ask, and what information do you need from this end to meet the required conditions.
Thanking you we remain,
Yours very sincerely, [1942]
B2. 3/21/39 EC’s ltr. to [1942]:
Dear Mr. [1942]:
Thanks for yours of the 18th - I do not recall the correspondence just now with Dr. Wood, but there have been so many don’t suppose am expected to. But am glad to hear from you and sincerely trust we may be of some service - There is no Cayce Hospital here tho at the present time, that was closed during the depression - but have carried on the work all along, and have quite a number of cooperating places about the country - and is possibly better that these can be handled among their own friends and by their own physicians.
Wish might discuss the work at some length with you - and hope you do make a trip east and that may become acquainted with you and the work your center must be doing - to me all healing is Spiritual, must necessarily be, for in HIM we move and have our being. Do not mean to start a discussion, but that is the basis of the entire work here if I understand it at all.
Am sending under separate cover - reports on a case or so - each of these were far away - did not see them until years after the cure.
Information has been given in many instances in all parts of the world - apparently distance makes no difference - only the sincerity of the seeker - makes a difference - have had several cases in your City - visitors and residents - and have never met the people as yet, tho they report results.
Will be glad to send you any data you might like on enclosed list and to answer any question possible.
Thanking you for inquiry - sincerely hoping to be of a service in the Master’s name
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
B3. 6/7/39 He obtained a Physical Rdg. for his mother-in-law, Mrs. [1907].
