This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 322 Grafton Avenue, Dayton, Ohio, this 25th day of August, 1925, in accordance with request made by his sister, via J. B. Wallace of San Saba, Texas.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Now, we find the conditions in this body abnormal are of a specific nature, and have to do with the functioning of the sensory organism. These conditions as we find in this body have been brought about, some by prenatal inclination from self, others by the action of physical conditions in body that have produced in the eliminating system those conditions that prevent the proper functioning. Hence the condition as has come about in the functioning of eyes themselves, see? This inflammation, this growth, as we find, is produced by this improper elimination, as is seen in present time.

3. Now, these conditions may be assisted and finally eliminated entirely from the system. First, we would use these proper ties for this portion of body:

4. Each three hours (during the waking day, see?) there should be a dressing placed on the eye (with it closed, see?) of scraped Irish potato (old - not new ones, see?). This scraped very fine and placed over same, making a cake or covering of same of about one-half inch thick. Cover or bind on with thin bandage.

5. After this has remained on for thirty to fifty minutes, remove and cleanse the portion of eyes that show the inflammation, secretions being removed with a solution of Boracic Acid water, see?

6. After this has been used for three to five days, rest one day. Then begin with a solution of ten percent belladonna, using about four ounces, see? Ten percent belladonna, to which we would add one-quarter ounce Tincture Tolu, see? Using this, then as a wash, or rather soaking pieces of cotton about the size of guinea egg, see? placing over same. This should be changed about twice each day, see? Then cleansing solution added with this of a weak solution of Glyco-Thymoline, as antiseptic wash when these are being used, see? These, then, would be used from three to five days, see? Then alternate again to the Potato, see? When this alternation of these have been made, the changes that will have come about in this, then we would give further information concerning this body, [20].

R1. 9/27/25 Sister’s letter: “My brother [20] has finished using the treatments for his eyes, as you had instructed him to use. He tells me there has been no change whatever for his sight, and no relief for the wild hairs which he is troubled with much. I was in great hopes that the potato poultice and the liquids which you prescribed for his eyes would cure the granulated lids which he suffers with very much, and that the wild hairs if killed would improve his sight.”
