GC: You will give the relation of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, and that to which it may attain, and how:
-
EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [2156].
-
These should be very sacred to many, and especially this entity, - as it has been and is a chosen channel of manifestations in the material plane of love which the Father hath bestowed upon the children of men.
-
Hence, in this portion of the entity’s development, the suggestions would be directed more to those to whom this entity’s experience has been entrusted, - in the way of what might be considered counsel.
-
The interpretations of the records as chosen here, then, are given with the desire, the purpose, that this may prove a helpful experience, not only to the entity - for this will come, with the awakening as it reaches those developments of the mental in which there is the greater realization of the closer relationships the entity bears to Creative Forces - but through same to the world about the entity.
-
For the entity’s world, in its relationships to others, must be kept more in the constructive experiences, - rather than the encouraging of, or the seeking for, that which is of a dire nature, or as to be a sensation as to happenings in the affairs or the experiences of others.
-
For, only that which is creative or constructive in its nature draws, impels, attracts, or calls upon the influences from without that are of the creative nature.
-
It is realized that there are unusual, out of the ordinary, associations or activities in the mental and spiritual forces of this entity. Then, the counsel would be:
-
Not in longfacedness, not as ones that would shut themselves away from man or his disorders and discouragements, but rather in those realms in which the fruit of the spirit of truth is made manifest, - in patience, in love, in kindness, in gentleness, in those things that bring constructive, hopeful, helpful forces into the experiences of others, - these, and all such, should be that upon which those about the entity would, should, meditate - daily.
-
And the knowledge of the love that is made manifest in the activity of Him who is the way, the truth, the light, - this should be the story oft told; and in the telling especially of the meeting of the entity - in another experience - with that vessel, that channel through which the Prince of Peace and of love and of hope came, the entity may indeed be given that encouragement, that assurance, that hope which will bring greater blessings to the fellow man in this particular sojourn.
-
For as there is made manifest in the life, the activity, the giving of such a vessel as this into the experiences of man, there should be the realization more and more - in the hearts and minds of all who come in contact with the entity - that God, the Father, keeps His promises to the children of men; giving them those vessels, those channels, through which HOPE and faith, and patience, are made manifest.
-
Thus may many, may ALL who approach THIS channel with such in their purpose, their desire, become assured in their lives and their experiences that God speaks to those who seek His face, who seek His ways.
-
Those who approach with the thoughts or with ANY phases of man’s experience that cause distrust, envy, malice or the like, will shut and are shutting themselves, turning their faces away from a manifestation that would awaken that consciousness within their own hearts and souls that God, through His promise, is mindful of man.
-
As to the manners of environs, then, that should be kept about the entity:
-
A normal environment, yes; but to those who are materially-minded only, to be sure it will never be a normal world or normal environment.
-
Yet, those who would put the arm of such natures about the activities of the entity, let them be oft in prayer, oft in seeking the manner, the way; that there may be brought into the experiences of this soul, this mind, a knowledge and an awareness of Christ as manifested in the life of Jesus, - who so loved man as to give Himself as that sacrifice.
-
And now, here, it is not sacrifice that is required, but love, - LOVE made manifest; not materially, not in those things that corrupt or that make men afraid, but in the light of GOD’S love, - in conversation, in activities, in the dealing of one with another in the presence and in the consciousness of the entity.
-
For, as the entity is sensitive to influences from without itself, it is also sensitive to the thoughts, even, of those with whom it comes in contact.
-
Not that the entity is to be shut away from the world, - but remember, as His prayer was, KEEP those about the entity from presumptuous sin, from that of hate, malice, jealousy; for these only make separations that will bring confusion into the experiences of this soul.
-
Little of the astrological aspects have to do with this entity; for its activities in the earth have been such that it will be influenced by same, - save those that will be the natural emotions of the body.
-
Thus, these we will find apparent in the entity’s relationships, other than that as may be taught or trained within same:
-
Very easy does the entity like or dislike, or become attracted to or repelled by those it meets. Yet gradually there will grow into the experience a greater attraction for those of the opposite sex.
-
Hence there needs to be the care, that understanding, early in the experience of the entity in this sojourn, as to the manner of life and how there is the propagation of it in the material plane. For, left alone, the entity would - and will - soon desire to wed in this material plane. These are from urges latent and manifested in the astrological aspects and sojourns.
-
And from the appearances in the earth it may be seen that there also is the manifestation of those things turned into material activities from SPIRITUAL concepts.
-
Before this (in its sojourns) we find the entity was among those who were given a special service in the early activities of the Church, in the bringing of spiritual concepts into the minds of individuals through music.
-
Then the entity was Saint Cecilia, - or as Celia the entity was first known, and then known for its abilities in the teaching and ministering to those in the various stages of man’s expression and development there, - in the Roman activity and experience of the early Church; for the entity brought hope, patience, understanding.
-
Thus we will find hours in the present oft when music, - that is of the nature that brings into association those forces of the celestial as well as the mental and spiritual, - will be the greater channel in which the entity may enable, or be enabled, to give the expressions of those messages, those lessons that will be so much a help, and bring hope, in the minds of others.
-
NOT by questioning, not by ANY of those things that are so oft as tortures to the entity. For, remember, as has been given, it is not in sacrifice but in a service of love, - both within and from without, - that the entity may give its best as the channel for aiding and assisting others.
-
For there will gradually come the growth of the abilities within the entity’s experience to not only bring messages of hope and of light to others, but to bring aid - through the very laying on of hands - to those who are not only mentally but physically sick, - to those who are ill at ease, rather than the diseased, throughout the entity’s experience. In such a manner, with that tempering, with that training which has been indicated, may the entity be of the greater service.
-
Then, give particular attention to the music in the experience of the entity; not only as the channel, but as an outlet for itself in its desires for expressions in the mental and the spiritual. For, hath it not been said that only music may span that space between the finite and the infinite? The entity’s music may be the means of arousing and awakening the best of hope, the best of desire, the best in the heart and soul of those who will and do listen. Is not music the universal language, both for those who would give praise and those who are sorry in their hearts and souls? Is it not a means, a manner of universal expression! Thus may the greater hope come.
-
Then again, before that, we find the entity was in that period from which the greater hope may be expressed; as Elizabeth, the mother of him of whom the Master said, “Among them that are born of woman there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist.”
-
So, as the entity was a chosen vessel, a chosen channel for that one who PROCLAIMED the day of the Lord to be at hand, the entity now - manifested in that body known as or called [2156] - may indeed be kept as a channel, by those about the entity, that it, too, may arouse and bring the consciousness in the minds of many that the day of the Lord is indeed at hand.
-
For, whosoever will may come and take of the cup, even as He. For as He hath promised to stand in the places of those who are discouraged, disconsolate, who have lost a vision, lost hope, - so may this entity be that channel through which MANY may take hope, many may be aroused to the awareness that the Lord is nigh, that He standeth at the door of thy consciousness, that ye may be awakened!
-
Then, let there not be a worshipfulness as of the body of the entity, but rather as of its abilities to AROUSE in the hearts and minds of others the KNOWLEDGE that the day of the Lord is at hand!
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 4/1/40 EC’s letter to Mrs. [1602]: “Mrs. Cayce and Miss Gladys say the reading was one of the most beautifully given of any they have heard. The reading of same [by me] is fine
- am wondering why it did not finish it - must have been an interference of some kind - or the needs of some vibration to obtain the rest - but was another of those few experiences where have had the consciousness of being given the record - and being spoken to - when it was given and taken from me.”

R3. Article from Encyclopaedia Britannica:
CECILIA,SAINT (d.c. 176) patron saint of music and of the blind, is commemorated on Nov. 22. She was supposed to have been a noble Roman who with her husband and converts suffered martyrdom (c. 230), under the emperor Alexander Severus, but the researches of de Rossi (ROMA SOTTERANEA ii. 147) confirm the statement of Fortunatus, bishop of Poitiers (d. 600), that she perished in Sicily under Marcus Aurelius (c. 176). The 4th century church at Rome in her honour was rebuilt by Pope Paschal I. (c. 820) and again in 1599. Cecilia, whose musical fame rests on a passing notice in her legend that she praised God by instrumental and vocal music, has inspired many a masterpiece in art, including the Raphael at Bologna, the Rubens in Berlin, the Domenichino in Paris, and in literature she is commemorated by Chaucer’s “Seconde Nonnes Tale” and by Dryden’s famous ode, set to music by Handel in 1736 and later by Sir Hubert Parry (1889).
Another St. Cecilia, who suffered in Africa in the persecution of Diocletian (303-304), is commemorated on Feb. 11.

B1. 2/22/40 See 2109-2, Par. 38-A regarding how she can help [2156].
B2. 2/24/40 Mrs. [1602]‘s letter: “There is one little lady I hope to arrange a reading for. She is the child prophetess who has been giving, verbally, the most amazing prophecies since she was six months old - when she began to talk. Perhaps you know about her - [2156] is the name.”
B3. 3/17/40 Letter to EC: Certainly am glad to know you are really coming to town! It sounds like a nice program for you, too. And I am sure there will be many, many who will be glad of the opportunity to hear and see you again. It will be nice, too, being with the Harrison’s for I know how much they think of you and you of them! Wish we could have the privilege but I guess we will have to wait until we get that estate I have in my mind!
Well, I met little [2156] the other day and yesterday, I took [1581] down to meet her just before she left for home. Last night Mrs. [1837] called me to say Mrs. […] [[2156]‘s mother] had phoned her on their arrival and said they had a very definite proof of the constant guidance they are under, on the way home. They were on the rear end of the bus and Mrs. […] had taken off [2156]‘s leggings and over-shoes and had her lying down to rest when all of a sudden she jumped up and insisted that her mother put her things on in great haste - which she did - and no sooner was she finished than the whole rear end of the bus burst into flames! They were out in no where, in a heavy snow storm at the time! They were able to get out safely and I believe, other passengers rescued their luggage for them. No one was injured but had it not been for the warning, it might well have been disastrous for them!
The child is really lovely. Natural, sweet, happy and good and just radiating light and love. You simply must meet her! And, I think, her mother is equally as lovely! She seems to have such understanding of it all and such utter faith in her directions. It is a revelation just to know them in this day and age! I feel sure they will weather the temptations of the scientifically minded - I know they have refused to submit to Dr. Rhine’s requirements for ‘tests’ - and are determined to keep her work on a spiritual level for those who have the faith. The ‘Thomas’ who must put their fingers in the wounds, don’t interest them.
Mrs. […] [[2156]‘s mother] is most thrilled at the prospect of having the Reading. You are good to want to do it for her but I feel you have enough to do that way and it will be a privilege for me to assist so I am sending my check along with this. You know the name - the birth date is, September 5th, 1935, Truckville, Pa. - but I guess it won’t be hard to find her. Her mother says if you will let her know when the reading is, she will keep [2156] quiet during the period and will, herself, cooperate in every way. Her address is: Mrs. […] [[2156]‘s mother].
Mrs. [1837] would like a copy of the reading, too. But if you send me one I will copy it for her. Mrs. […] [[2156]‘s mother] said she had no questions. Now, we shall all wait with anticipation, for the reading! Hope it can be given before you leave [from [1602]]!
B4. 3/18/40 Mrs. [1837] wrote also saying little [2156]‘s mother wanted the rdg.
