This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home in Selma, Ala., this 5th day of February, 1923, in accordance with request made by self, Mr. [228].

Time of Reading 5:30 P. M. …, Ala.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here. We have had this before, you see. Now, as for the physical conditions in this body they are a great deal better in many different respects from those we had here before. There are some conditions that should be looked after regarding conditions through the lower portion of the intestinal tract. This we find makes some reflex conditions through the pyloric end of the stomach, causing, at times, halitosis, for this body, which makes unpleasant conditions for the individual.

2. The conditions that existed through other portions of the body, especially through the pelvic organs, are better. We find, by correct actions of the body, would remain eliminated from the system provided blood supply and activity through the digestive organs are kept producing perfect elimination, so that each cycle of functioning organs will replace or overcome conditions.

3. We would keep at all times sufficient quantities of a vegetable nature carrying a great amount of the dissolving fluids in the system, such as we find in those of the citrus fruits, berries and some of the vegetables that grow above the ground. Those of celery, English peas, butter beans - vegetables of this character rather than nightshade. Tomatoes good, but not in excess, for they would rather influence the juices of the pancreas - some portions, especially along the prostate and other glands of this nature.

4. As for the body’s better welfare through the social, spiritual and mental, it would only be well for the body to keep well in mind that it must study to show itself approved unto its Maker, and not be ashamed of those ideals that give to the development of others, while that of self must be approved of its Maker. Those of others must be consideration as to whether approved to Him or not, and that HIS spirit beareth witness with thy spirit whether thou art chosen of Him to carry unto others those unsearchable riches of His nature and being.

5. As to the connections that are, or might be, with Edgar Cayce, we do not find that there will be further than those of the distant, except from time to time as the development of each individual’s personality is given to those to whom the Maker has endowed those spaces of time to come in touch with. 6. As to the connections with someone in Birmingham - public accountants; it would not be well, or satisfying, as we find here. It may be made; might be for the time being of a satisfactory nature - it will not be of a lasting character. There are other connections here that would be of a nature that would be well-pleasing to this body and others concerned. This is as we find. Do this. We are through.

R2. 6/15/24 Mr. [4121]‘s letter: “Mr. [228] [of Birmingham] would like to have a horoscope rdg. but has no money right now and won’t ask for it, for fear that he will interfere with money rdgs.”

R3. 11/2/24 Mr. [228] wrote: “The company is giving me a small increase in salary for this month, with a promise to boost it some more next month. The salary that I have been receiving has been extremely modest…

“You wrote me sometime in the summer of 1923 about making a connection with a firm of C.P.A.’s in Dayton, but at that time I did not encourage you especially to take up the matter further. It has occurred to me frequently since then that it would have been to my interest to have permitted you to get me lined up there if it had been possible. My experience in accounting has broadened considerably since you last saw me, and I can not get the idea entirely out of my noodle that the public accounting profession should be the line that I should take on. Partly in anticipation of finally branching out that way, and also to fit myself better for any place in which I actually do find myself, I took up on the 1st of April an accounting course with The International Accountants Society of Chicago, which embraces ninety lessons, of which I have completed the examinations for seventy lessons with a grade for sixty-seven lessons of the highest and for the other three lessons a grade next to the highest. This has been very gratifying to me, and has given me very valuable instruction and information. The remaining twenty lessons that I have are extremely difficult, and after looking them over, I have concluded to go through them very carefully and slowly taking perhaps three and a half to four months to complete them. At that time I should be prepared to stand the examination of nearly any State for C.P.A., except that I may lack the required basic educational qualifications on account of not having gone through high school.”

R4. 1/22/25 He wrote: “I had a chance to get back in the movie game here [mgr. of moving picture theatre] at a little more money than I am now making, but concluded to turn it down.”

R5. 2/25/25 He wrote: “You may be sure that I am still interested in your work, and only wish it were practicable for me to see it at closer range from time to time.”

R6. 2/28/25 EC wrote: “[4121] suggested sometime ago that you desired a Life Rdg. Be glad to do it for you if you’ll send birthdate and place.”

R7. 3/4/25 He wrote: “I have not been present with you in this class of rdg.

“In your usual rdg. you like to know where the person will be when it is being taken, but it seems that you do not require this in horoscope or life rdgs. You may count on me being at this office… [etc., etc.] I would appreciate this rdg. very much. Let me not tempt you, however, to give mine if there should be others that demand more immediate attention.”

R8. 3/21/25 EC gave him his Life Rdg. 228-2.

R9. 9/5/27 He wrote: “The Ipsab has reached me, and is being used consistently [for my pyorrhea]; no doubt it will be beneficial.”

R10. 3/14/29 He wrote: “I remain in vigorous physical condition, and am enjoying life sufficiently.”

R11. 9/13/31 He requested 313-1, the first of a series of rdgs. for his wife.

R12. 4/13/32 He requested 5683-1 for his sister.
