This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 16th day of July, 1940, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [1306], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 4:15 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ky.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. As we find, while there is much improvement in some directions, there is still a good deal of phlegm and congestion and soreness throughout the intestinal tract.

4. DO NOT overcrowd the body with food! Let the natural sources and resources be corrected first.

5. Before each feeding we would give the body three to four drops of Glyco-Thymoline in a teaspoonful of water. Keep this up until the odor of same may be detected in the stool.

6. At least once a day we would gently massage the abdomen and bowels with an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted), Turpentine and Camphor. Heat the Mutton Tallow and then add an equal amount of the other ingredients to the liquid. Massage this gently, preferably of evenings, - all that the body will absorb.

7. Keep Carnation Milk as the basis of the diet. The present formula is very good; it needs only to be altered as necessary for the agreement to the weakened digestive forces.

8. Until the body is near to normal from the inflammation, use just the Milk and add with same - as feedings - the strained oatmeal; this to be taken with milk of the same character or formula; and add with each feeding - either in the bottle or in the oatmeal - about half a teaspoonful of Lime Water. Preferably use the cut oats, not rolled oats.

9. Orange juice WEAKENED may be given once a day. Do not give same at the same feedings with the oatmeal! This should be tested for the quantity and as to how often given.

10. Then, as the other foods are added of the various characters, we would use preferably Gerber’s foods - all of them; but add these gradually, as the body improves; not all at once.

11. Also a little later, as the other foods are gradually added, we would add the Cod Liver Oil, but preferably in the form of White’s Cod Liver Oil Tablets. Crush one tablet and mix with whatever food is given once each day, - not in every feeding. This should only be prepared as it is given the body; do not give the body food that is left over in which this has stood. Prepare fresh each time.

12. These as we find should bring better conditions for this body.

R1. 7/24/40 (Wednesday) Mother [1306]‘s letter to EC: “I was so glad to receive your letter and the reading Friday. I hadn’t even thought of getting the reading so soon. I started the treatment Saturday morning and am still doing everything. [2299] is greatly improved already - whether or not he has gained weight - I don’t know - but he’s so much more cheerful than he was. He has been fretting a little the last day or two but I think maybe he will have a tooth soon. I just know after a few months of proper feeding that he will be as large and healthy as other babies his age. I’ll have some pictures made after he starts gaining and send you one with another taken about three weeks before he got so sick, then you can see the difference, too.

“I’m so sorry you came so close to having pneumonia and hope you’re feeling lots better by now.

“For a week or so we have had unusually hot weather and it’s awfully hard on everybody but we can’t “kick” about it - we have to take it as it comes. Up until then we had such grand cool days and nights.

”[…], my husband, is very much enthused with the readings. Of course, he has heard them discussed on a number of occasions but the baby’s case is the first one in which he actually saw treatment and results both. He has a half-sister [See [2320]] who has been sick for several years and I think maybe from what he said she wants a reading. She says she suffers constantly so if she could be helped it would be wonderful. There are so many, many cases of illnesses that the best of Doctors are unable to determine the cause or the cure for - if only, these people knew of your work. It would be almost impossible to help everybody needing your help, tho. God has been mighty good to us.

“For in the last reading for [2299] it says to start feeding him Gerber’s Baby Food as his body improves - that means before all of the mucus is gone, doesn’t it? The milk and oats doesn’t seem to satisfy him - I have to give him water several times during the nite and nearly always have to get up before five in the morning and fix his milk. I believe he needs a little food now. What do you think?

R2. 7/29/40 EC’s Letter to Mother, [1306]: “Yours of the 24th - and will write at once - yes, indeed you should begin with the feeding; will have to go slow of course and sorter feel your way but he needs food; just don’t let him eat too much until he can handle it alright.

“Am mighty glad to know he is better, and just know am glad to try and help whenever can.

“Am all a rushed this morning as lot of people are coming to town will be here for some days, and a lot of work on hand. Want to get away for day or so if can next week - may get that way, if do of course, will see you. Yes, would appreciate a picture of the baby very much.

R3. 8/11/40 (Sunday) Mother [1306]‘s letter to EC: “I’m so terribly disappointed! I thought surely you’d be here last week - I know you said MAYBE but still I looked forward to seeing you. If you can, I hope you get to come some time soon.

“The baby [2299] and I have both had deep colds since Tuesday

• I woke up Tuesday morning with mine and that afternoon [2299]‘s eyes and nose started discharging - he’s been coughing quite a bit. I rub him every nite and during the day with Camphorated Oil. He seems to be lots better today. …There’s something I don’t understand - every morning the baby’s so stopped up with phlegm he can hardly breathe and you can hear it rattling in his throat - it’s been that way since he was born. I always thought it was cold but couldn’t imagine why. Then when I got the last reading I decided the Glyco-Thymoline would clear this and the phlegm in his bowels too, but his throat is still that way in the mornings - it only lasts for about an hour then it leaves and isn’t there anymore all day. Do you think maybe I didn’t give the Glyco-Thymoline long enough? I detected a peculiar odor in his movements the fourth day after I started the drops (not exactly like the medicine but I didn’t think it could go clear thru him and smell exactly as it did at first) so I stopped giving them to him. Would it be advisable to start them again? Except for this he seems to be doing fine. I’m giving him oats twice a day - sometimes three oat feedings and two feedings - half a can each - of two different Gerber’s a day. I think in a day or so I’ll give him the 9 months milk formula - he’ll be 9 months old Tuesday - he’s getting the 8 months formula now. I almost forgot - I started the White’s Cod Liver Oil Tablets about four days ago and he’s been getting orange juice for sometime now. I feed him every 3 hours and most of the time I hafta fix him a bottle during the nite. He wakes up several times and I’m sure it’s because he’s hungry.

“From all outward appearances he seems so greatly improved and yet there are a few things I’d like to ask about. I hate to ask so MANY questions but looks as if that’s all I do anyway. Did I ever tell you about the yellow oil that passes with his bowel movements? There’s so much of it that it floats on top of the urine in his “potty” when he uses it and if he soils his diaper the yellow oil stain is very hard to remove and his movements seem to be coated with it. I wonder if his digestive organs are just unable to handle fats? You see, the reading said Cod Liver Oil Tablets - not the oil itself. And too, he has hiccoughs every day - sometimes 2 or 3 times for as long as 30 and 40 minutes at a time. That must be caused from gas or some stomach disorder, don’t you think?

“That’s enough for this time - maybe I’ll think of some more questions next time - if you don’t mind and I know you don’t. You’ve been unusually nice to me and I SINCERELY appreciate it! I wish I could do something for you.

“I’m so glad Mrs. [2320] from … is going to get her reading tomorrow. I hope she can be helped and know you can if it’s possible.

“How is your cold? I hope it’s all gone and you’re completely well by now.

“I didn’t rite last week because I was almost sure I’d see you but will try to rite every week or two and let you know about [2299].”

R4. 8/15/40 EC’s letter to Mother, [1306]: “Have yours of the with - yes, had hoped to get by … while in … last week, but just didn’t have time - too many appointments - when one’s life belongs to others, oft they can’t do just as they would like at times.

“Do hope the baby [2299] is much better of his cold - you also but he has been so run down in his resistance a bad cold could do a great deal of harm unless stopped very soon - cold of course indicates an excess acid condition - and with the trouble he has been having will have to watch that it doesn’t settle on his bowels or stomach - would give him the Glyco again - then after a few weeks give it again - it is one of the alkaline antiseptics, it is not a medicine at all, just an antiseptic, and will, am sure help correct his stomach trouble. Give as before.

“There may be some sort of obstruction in the nasal passages that’s causing the trouble - would make a compound of - Mutton Tallow, Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor. You melt the tallow, and take equal quantities of each and put together; can keep it for some time - then each evening massage round his neck and head especially between his eyes and round nose. Think you will see the trouble will disappear.

“It will depend upon his ability to digest the food whether you can increase it to the 9 months formula or not but would try it, and if he doesn’t digest it, weaken it a bit; may, from the effect seemingly coming about, that he will not assimilate the Cod-Liver tablets - may have to get the emulsion, but suppose you reduce the quantity that you give him for a week or so and see if the condition of the Oil appearing clears up; then let me know.

“The hiccoughs is rather a good sign - unless he keeps it up too long but if sips of water will stop it after a few minutes, all fine; if not, then some change in diet should be made.

“Don’t think you will bother me with questions - am only glad to try and help and do hope the baby gets along alright.

“Had reading for Mrs. [2320] - from same, she seems in a bad shape - but can, if she will, follow the suggestion carefully; be better soon and get real well.

“Think I took a lot more cold travelling about - and am just about as puny as a pizened [poisoned] pup, but hope to be feeling better soon - having a real fall rain here today, began yesterday - and has kept up constantly ever since with quite a bit of wind.

“Was mighty nice to be with the girls last week - the first time all of us have been together since Mother and Pa died - yes, first time in 17 years - guess will never be again here, rather a gloomy feeling, guess - but each have their cares - problems - hopes - and desires - and don’t always jibe one with the other.

“Well let me hear - do hope the suggestions will help - and don’t hesitate to ask any questions at any time - love to your mother and to each of you.

R5. 8/27/40 (Tuesday) Mother, [1306]‘s letter to EC: “[2299] seems to be improving but still he’s so terribly choked in the mornings - sounds just like asthma - wheezes something terrible and when he coughs it looks like he can’t get his breath he’s so full of phlegm. I gave him the Glyco as you suggested, starting the 17th and stopping the nite of the 24th. That helped a great deal and I also rubbed him every nite (and several times during the day when he was so badly stopped up) until last nite. I used the Mutton Tallow, Camphor and Turpentine to rub him. I waited to rite you because he didn’t seem any better ‘til Saturday morning, then I waited a day or so to see if he’d be worse again. I hope it’s not asthma and I don’t think it is - I believe maybe it’s just part of the condition caused from his other trouble. Don’t you think so? Of course, I know he was in such a run down condition for 8 months that it will take some time for him to improve and start gaining. I haven’t weighed him yet but believe he’s gained a little.

“About the Cod Liver Oil tablets, - you must have misunderstood my last letter - I meant the reading stated the tablets so I judged from that - that his body COULD NOT ASSIMILATE THE EMULSION - you see - from the time he started nursing my milk this oil passed from him in his movements - I was afraid his digestive organs couldn’t digest the fat in my milk - could that be it? Sometimes there’s not as much oil as others but there’s still quite a bit of it.

“I changed his milk formula to the 9 months one and he seems to be able to handle it so far. In the last reading it said to put about 1/2 teaspoonful of Lime Water in his milk or oat feedings - did that mean indefinitely or until he was better. I didn’t know whether or not he could get too much in his body.

“As yet I haven’t given the baby a thing except what the reading states but mother seems to think he should have a little zwieback or graham crackers between feedings. I’ve been afraid to let have any before asking you. If the reading didn’t say to give him some I’m not suppose to, am I? After he’s had his Gerber’s or oats and 8 ounces of milk, he sometimes cries as if he’s still hungry yet - he looks as if he’ll burst any minute - that’s the reason mother thinks he needs something MORE SOLID, as she calls it. I have a time - if the baby whimpers everybody runs to see what’s wrong. He’s the only baby I know of that’s not allowed to even cry. He’s spoiled rotten now.

“Cousin Edgar, I see why you can’t understand my letters. I rite such long roundabout sentences to explain what I want to tell you. When you finish one sentence you have to go back and see what I said first. Looks like I can’t get my thoughts written in a few words. Maybe you can “wade” thru them, tho.

“I wish you could see [2299] now - he’s trying to walk and talk too - he says ‘Da Da’ a lot and has said (it sounds like) ‘mom ma.’

“You seem to be having an awfully hard time with colds etc. I’m so sorry. Do hope you’ll be well soon. A cold can make you feel worse than most anything.”

R6. 9/5/40 EC’s letter to Mother, [1306]: “Thanks for yours of the 27th - hope [2299] is still on the improve and that that choking sensation is better - believe if you use that rub regularly for a time each evening it will get rid of the trouble. Taking periodically the Glyco will help to keep his digestive tract better also; say, one week during the month give it to him.

“How is the Cod Liver tablets agreeing with him - can’t he take the tablets crushed up better than the emulsion? I think they are better than the other anyway, or the readings suggest them much oftener anyway.

“Think you will have to judge by the circumstance, [1306], about the Lime Water but if you give him plenty of that he will have less trouble with his teeth when it’s time for them

• or that has been our experience with a great many babies. We almost had a baby show of what many call - Cayce - babies here this week. [[1208]; [1990]; [1346]; [2942]; [2148]; [1635]; [2459]; [2015]; [1566]; [1958]; etc.] There were ten babies who have been, each mother says, saved by the readings here at one time - and was it a show - such fine babies, I never saw so many together before and one among them - the mother said she had just changed to adding the Lime Water and it had cleared up the rash on his little body.

“The zwieback is fine or the graham cracker. Be sure that he has enough to eat and you will have to just gradually increase this or that - and keep the proper balance with the foods necessary for body building.

“I like your letters very much, [1306], and they will never be too long - seems a shame that we have to get best acquainted by letter, but know this: I love every one of you and am happy and glad to try and help at any and all times, so don’t ever feel that it is asking too much of me in any way.

“We have had a very busy last two weeks - some 20 or more people here to see me from most everywhere - people who have had readings and wanted more - would surprise some I guess to see so many here, but all seem well pleased with what they have and getting - one man [2345] here from W. Va. with his wife [2344] and two - children his poor little girl [2153] has fits - and while he is very wealthy, am told he would give it all possible to get her cured - she was here two weeks and didn’t have any for first time in 3 years. He was sent to a doctor in N.Y. and his wife and the little girl goes there very soon.

“Sure would like to see you all - am sure the baby is cute and when one has and is sick - they are apt to be spoiled, but think that is what they are for.

“Hope this finds all of you just fine - how is your Mother - give her my love and love to each of you. Write again soon…”

R7. 9/10/40 Mother, [1306]‘s letter to EC: “I was so glad to get your letter Saturday. Knowing you are not real well we were so afraid that you were ill. I hope you’re feeling lots better than you have been the last few months. You should take a long rest from work.

“I know you’re proud of your babies. I surely would love to see all of them. I don’t suppose you’ve seen nearly all that you’ve given readings on, have you?

“Poor little [2299], he seems so happy and full of life, yet he looks so small. He’s grown in length but doesn’t seem to get any fatter. His little arms and legs are so flabby. I started rubbing him again and am giving him the Glyco this week. I do hope it will eventually stop that phlegm from getting in his throat and bronchials. He loves the zwieback

• every time I take him in the kitchen he looks on top the stove and reaches for some - he knows where I keep it.

“He has one tooth that has just broken thru the gum. He’s been a little fretful lately and I think that was the trouble. I’m sure the Lime Water will help - am putting 1/2 teaspoonful in each milk feeding.

“His bowel movements the last week seem to be too soft - they move twice and sometimes three times a day. They don’t smell right tho - they smell more like something decayed than they do a movement. I stopped putting the Karo in his milk - thinking maybe it was that, but so far I see no difference. He doesn’t get any other sugar at all, so I don’t know what’s causing it.

“The crushed Cod Liver Oil tablet makes his food smell terrible but he doesn’t seem to mind at all.

“Don’t you think it will take several months for him to get straightened out before he starts gaining or should he be gaining now? If I only knew, I wouldn’t worry so terribly about his weight…”

R8. 9/16/40 EC’s letter to Mother, [1306]: “Glad to have yours of the 10th - the snaps are fine and [2299] looks fine and full of life - don’t look as if he had ever been ill - or was someone acting the monkey for him?

“Well - am better - then again not so well - keep up but oft times find myself in a lot of pain, hope make it alright.

“Yes sir - a lady brought another one of the babies to see me Saturday. She is as well as can be and cute as a picture - full of life as you ever saw - but at times as her Mother said, she [1521?] would stop and look at me as if she would look a hole clear through me. You bet am mighty proud of the babies - for many of them were very pitiful when the reading was given or am told so - no, don’t guess would be hardly possible to have them all together - for they are from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

“Possibly [2299] is like the little boy here now - Miss Gladys, that is the Secretary’s nephew [Thomas Jefferson Davis] - he is 4 now. He is thin but wirey and well as can be - he says ‘I don’t want to be fat. Everybody would want to pinch me.’

“Think you are right - keep up the rub - and every little bit give the Glyco. Think it will clear up the trouble.

“The zwieback is fine for him as well as the graham cracker - but expect if he has started on the other he won’t care for the graham.

“His teeth will pull him down a bit anyway - give him plenty of everything with lime and calcium that will help with his teeth.

“Would use the Karo if it hasn’t changed the movement - for he needs the dextrine in that - have you ever tried him with Okra if he will eat it, that would be fine for him to try it. Just the very tender ones well cooked with a bit of butter, but no vinegar of course.

“Especially with his teeth will take time but just watch him and am sure he is coming along fine.

“Hope your Mother [1690] is doing better and feeling a lot better - if she could get a few treatments from Dr. Beard, that would help her a lot.

“Hope [1089] is doing fine and that everything is well with you and yours - give my love to all - with love to yourself and baby…”

R9. 9/24/40 Mother, [1306]‘s letter to EC: “I was surely glad to get your letter and hear you’re some better. People who have good health don’t know how to appreciate it. They always said I was the healthiest child mother had but now I’m about the puniest.

“[2299] seems to be improving. I’ll declare, he’s getting so strong we can hardly hold him. He tries to grab everything he sees around him and he’s death on drawers. Everything comes out!

“He was ten months old the 13th so I changed his milk formula to 10 months - so far he seems to handle it alright - could it by any chance be too heavy for him and yet he’d digest it alright? I’m so terribly anxious for him to gain. His arms and legs don’t seem to be so flabby now so maybe he’ll be “chubby” before long. I hope so. As you say though, he could be wirey and yet healthy. I know he’s lots better - if it hadn’t been for the readings, there’s no telling where he’d be.

“Have you heard about Aunt [sister of [1287]]? She was carrying Uncle [1287]‘s breakfast to him one day last week and fell - breaking her hip. They carried her to the hospital - operated on her pinning the bone together. She can’t live so long but that’ll prolong life a while. Poor thing, looks like everybody has their troubles.

“I haven’t been able to get any okra yet but want to try it.

“[1089] is doing fine.

“Cousin Edgar, when do you start giving babies cow’s milk or do you continue to give them Carnation indefinitely?

“[1352] says ‘hello,’ she’ll rite soon.”

R10. 9/27/40 EC’s letter to Mother, [1306]: “Glad to have yours of the 24th - tell [1352] I think I will have to adopt you and [2299] if she doesn’t write soon, will feel she is neglecting me.

“Why should you be puny - you looked mighty fine I thought when I saw you - but guess, haven’t seen you so many times have I? Glad [2299] is getting along fine - as said he may be constituted that he will not be chubby like some babies but if he just keeps well is the thing - no, if he digests his food - it is all ok. Oh in the next month or so you can begin to give him a bit of cow’s milk but not too much at first, but let his real food be the Carnation until he is a year old anyway - think you will find Carnation cheaper than cow’s milk, don’t know - is quite a bit cheaper here - but we have to pay 16 cents a quart for milk here.

“Oh if he doesn’t get big and heavy, maybe if you are not feeling so good it is better so - he would be a job were he too heavy - if you feel badly you better get yourself a reading, [1306].

“Just heard today from [340] about Aunt […] - can’t imagine Aunt […] an invalid but expect she will have quite a time getting over this - she is not as young as she once was - and such a fall stays with one usually if they ever get up. Sorry to hear it - yet was not surprised at all - why her children have left her there alone practically can’t make out

• guess we all have different dispositions.

“Wish you could be with us Sunday - we hope to dedicate the new building. It joins the house but will be the offices of the work - and has a fireproof vault for the records - will possibly when through have a home and not both in one anymore.

R11. 11/15/40 Mother, [1306]‘s letter to EC: “I was so glad to hear from you. I really don’t see how you ever answer your mail, of course, I know you just TAKE time to, because you’re busy all time. I think I’m busy but suppose if I were in other people’s boots I’d see differently.

“I don’t blame you for thinking your new offices are lovely and I think you have a perfect right to say so. You appreciate things lots more when you need them a long time before you get them. [2299] needed a stroller a long time ago and if I’d gotten it then I wouldn’t have thought much about it but after waiting so long I’m still happy about getting one.

“I weighed him about two weeks ago and he weighed only 16 pounds 2 ounces but that’s lots better than before he was sick; he didn’t gain for 2 months you know, stayed 12 3/4 pounds from his 6 months birth date until he was about 8 months old. He still doesn’t seem to be satisfied when he eats. As soon as he finishes a meal he’s ready to eat again. I give him about one cup of oats and 8 ounces of milk for breakfast; orange juice about 10 o’clock; 1/2 can of one Gerber food and two slices of zwieback with a little milk and his bottle for second feeding; the other 1/2 Gerber’s and 2 slices zwieback and bottle for third feeding; and 1 cup oats and 8 ounces milk for his last feeding. Don’t you think that’s sufficient or do you think he should get several Gerber’s vegetables at one meal? I tried him on cow’s milk twice and both times his next bowel movement was simply covered with that heavy yellow looking oil and I could see white lumps of milk that evidently didn’t even digest so I haven’t given him anymore. I’ll have to be very careful what I feed him, I suppose, because I gave him a few graham crackers a day for about a week or little over and his bowels moved 4 or 5 times a day for two or three weeks and were awfully soft. I blamed the graham - that might not have done it tho, although his diet is always same.

“When I was carrying [2299] to Dr. Thomas he said he’d have to be circumcised but that he’d wait until [2299]

improved, then after I got the reading it didn’t suggest circumcising so I decided he didn’t need to be, but sometimes he has a hard time urinating and now I wonder if he does need to be. What do you think?

“Anytime you think I should add any food to [2299]‘s diet, just tell me because I don’t know much about feeding babies and don’t care to take him to the doctor - you know more about it than they do. He was a year old the 13th of this month.

“Cousin Edgar, after all my “griping” about not feeling good, now I feel worse. I was supposed to menstruate the 3rd of this month and didn’t. I know I’m pregnant. I’ve been sick at my stomach and had terrible headaches which is unusual for me. Maybe I’d better get the reading sometime in the near future, if you feel well enough and can find a vacant space for it. I DON’T WANT you to put off anybody else’s appointment for me tho. I haven’t been to Dr. Brown yet, thought I’d wait a while. I’d like to ask some questions also before you give it. Are there any questions I could ask concerning the baby that would make HE or SHE more healthy?”

R12. 12/4/40 EC’s letter to Mother, [1306]: “Am sure you know I was away or would have answered your letter of the 15th long ago, but just got back from N.Y. Sunday night - have written [1352] and your Mother today but want to write you and give you the period for your reading - fill out the enclosed blank, [1306], so we will have it as a record, please. Am setting the time for Friday morning, the 13th - be sure and let me know just where you will be between the time - 10:30 to 11:30 E.S.T. That will be 9:30 to 10:30 your time. Would have undertaken this today for you for have an open period for rest but you said you might go to … - so didn’t know.

“Yes, am really enjoying the new offices - am real proud of them - and then their being the gift from hundreds of people whom have tried to help - makes me think all the more.

“Glad [2299] is getting along as well as he is - do you ever give him carrots? Try him on them, see if they agree, as well as any other of those foods, and possibly you don’t give him enough at a time - tho of course you don’t want to overdo it. Give him a few drops occasionally of the Glyco, say once or twice a week then get you a bottle, say an ounce of Essence of Lactated Pepsin. At the time you give him one of his feedings each day, put only two drops in a little water, say a teaspoonful. Do this for about five days, then leave off for a week and then try it again - believe that is what is lacking in his digestion. Let’s try that anyway - and if it isn’t better, we will check up and see.

“Yes, would have [2299] circumcised. Try the diet and the digestion food first however - or, for say, a couple of weeks. Then have it done.

R13. 12/9/40 Mother, [1306]‘s letter to EC: “I was so glad to hear from you. I didn’t know until after I’d written to you that you were in New York but didn’t expect to get a letter for some time.

“[1352] is working at Montgomery Wards during the Christmas season. She’s thrilled to death, so far she’s made 5 or 6 dollars and naturally feels proud of herself since it’s the first money she’s ever earned. I hope she can get a regular job somewhere. It’d help her a lot.

“[2299] seems to be improving steadily except for a few things. He’s growing and his arms and legs are much firmer but I suppose that choking in the mornings will have to wear off. I still rub him every nite and give him the Glyco at intervals. He isn’t walking by himself yet - seems to be weak in his legs but since he was so far behind I imagine he’ll be late walking.

“Yes, I give him carrots off and on, he likes them. I give him all the Gerber foods. I try to give him a soup, then a green vegetable, and carrots, etc. so he’ll get a variety all the time. Once in a while I give him Pear and Pineapple, I tried the Apricots and Apple Sauce but they were so sour he didn’t care for the apricots. For a week or so I’ve been giving him a coddled egg with zwieback with his dinner. He’s such a little pig, I believe he eats so much it makes him ‘pore’ to carry it! I’m gonna start the Essence of Lactated Pepsin Wednesday. I’m giving him Glyco today and tomorrow. I hope the Pepsin helps him.”

“Looks like I’ll never get to … I thought I’d be there before now but simply haven’t completed my preparations. Won’t [2299] be lonesome without Gramma, Grandpa and aunts and uncle! I’m already feeling sorry for him. On Friday, the 13th I’ll be right here at … Cousin Edgar, I’ll never be able to repay you for what you’ve done for me but when I can, I’m certainly counting you in first. I surely do hope I’m well enough to have a healthy baby. I’m almost afraid my health affected [2299]. I suffered quite a bit when carrying him but anytime I mentioned a pain the doctor said that was just part of being pregnant. I never did think so tho! Then too, I was worried considerably.

“I’m going to make a list of questions and if you don’t think they’re necessary just cross them off. Then too, some might be answered in the reading.

“The card [2175] sent you was awfully cute. I’ll bet she was glad to see you!

“Take care of yourself and don’t work so hard, you’ll get sick again.”
