GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2299].
-
As we find, there is an acute condition that may become serious unless there are changes soon in the inflammation being produced by congestion in the bronchi and larynx.
-
We would prepare an onion poultice to apply across the area of the chest and bronchi. Cut the onions very fine and heat just a little, adding just enough meal to hold same together. Apply warm, but not too hot.
-
Across the back of the neck apply a hot flannel with an equal combination of Mutton Tallow (melted), Spirits of Turpentine and Spirits of Camphor.
-
Change these about every hour or so until the cold is broken, or until the body is quiet.
-
Keep plenty of Syrup of Ipecac, handy in case the body should become choked or clogged, so that a dose may then be given to cause vomiting - about half a teaspoonful.
-
Keep fumes boiling in the room from using at least a teaspoonful of Compound Tincture of Benzoin and half a teaspoonful of Oil of Eucalyptus in the amount of water required in a croup cup or the like.
-
Keep the eliminations active with Castoria.
-
Then as the bowels act, follow same with the use of Glyco-Thymoline to keep down the inflammation through the alimentary canal; two to three drops, as we have indicated, and give until it is indicated in the odor from the stool. This should be given once or twice or three times a day, or when any feeding is given.
-
As to diet, - change the feeding, of course, to not too much of that hard to digest. Juices and light cereals, you see.
-
Do that.
-
Ready for questions.
-
We are through with this Reading.
