GC: You will give the physical conditions of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [2514], this we have had before. While there is still much to be desired in fitting the body, as it were, to the regular exercise or activities again, we find that there is much, much indeed, that the entity has to be thankful for.
-
Keep all of those things that have been applied in their proper relationships one to another. In the use of the Lights, don’t overstep the time.
-
Keep up the massages and osteopathic corrections. It is not necessary that there be the long trips taken to have these, for it would be better to have regular treatments closer to your home that will make for a relaxing of the body as related to using arms and limbs as leverages for the relaxing of locomotary centers, - as in the brachial center of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd dorsal, as in the lumbar centers, and as in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th lumbar, and throughout the sacrals. All of these need relaxing; not stimulating but relaxing. It will be better if these applications are made where and when the body may relax longer and not be tired out by riding on long trips.
-
However, do assume more and more responsibility, and thus does the body become able to apply itself. Don’t overdo it, as to bring too great a quantity of these fluids that come when the places become irritated as under the knees and on portions of the body. But use the Castor Oil Packs occasionally on the hardened portion of the calf of the leg, on portions of the limbs, close to the lower portions of the body-forces, across the back at the shoulders and the like.
-
Also use the Appliance, keeping the contacts firmly in place and the connections clean. Do have the charges changed regularly. Use the Gold solution properly.
-
Doing these, we will find that the body will continue to make for improvements.
-
In the diet, do include often carrots and gelatin, beets and gelatin, but never either of these with any of the acids (with which they are at times treated, as with vinegar, or pickled beets, pickled carrots or pickles of any kind). For the basis of such acid is not good in the body-structural forces. On the other hand, the juices of the beets and carrots would be excellent as healing forces in the body. Do have water cress whenever practical as a part of the diet. Use sea foods but not too much fresh water fish. Have fowl occasionally. A little crisp bacon may be taken, but no hog meat prepared in any other way - except the feet, the ears or the snout that may be used for the jellies of same - because of the stimulating activity of gelatin for body-texture strength, as well as for nerve and muscle building.
-
Do these and we will keep better forces for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Would you recommend an osteopath nearer home? (A) An osteopath nearer - in the same town would be well.
-
(Q) Should all treatments be continued as they have been indicated? (A) Continue all treatments in their order as indicated.
-
We are through for the present.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/10/44 Mrs. [2514]‘s letter to EC: “I guess you’ll be surprised to hear from me but I wanted to let you know I’m still alive.
“I am still doing the things you told me. I’m slowly getting better. In fact it is so slow I sometimes wonder if it’s imagination.
“Mr. Cayce, is there any possible way to get a ck. rdg. It’s quite discouraging to think I have no way to learn of my condition. Everywhere I learn you are filled up for 2 yrs.
- what are we old members to do? Please help me if you can.
“Mrs. Cayce, could you possibly give me any suggestion as a substitute for Lanoline. They can’t get it here, I’ve tried all over Nashville, and have even written the makers themselves. The Armed Services seem to be getting it all. Can you suggest something else I could use. We have just about enough for this week, if that much.
“I’m quite busy now and am so thankful I have more strength to do with. Mother’s health isn’t at all good so I try to help her as much as possible. If I could just get my knees to straighten out I’d feel wonderful.
“I hope you are good and well now. I was so sorry to hear you had been sick.
“The tops to my appliance wore out so had to order new ones from Mr. Godfrey, also new wires.
“Hoping to hear from you soon, I remain…”
R2. 4/21/44 Letter to Mrs. [2514] from EC: “We are making the appointment for your ck-physical reading on the morning of May 19, 1944, EWT between 10:30 and 11:30.
“About two weeks before the time for your rdg., let us know just WHERE YOU WILL BE - DURING THE HOUR SET for your rdg., allowing for difference in time. You may also submit any questions you care to ask concerning your physical condition. Do set aside this hour as a quiet time for prayer and meditation.
“We have a booklet called ‘Physical Readings,’ which was recently compiled and consists mostly of extracts taken from many different rdgs. Do send for it and study it carefully, I believe you will find it very helpful. It sells for fifty cents.
“Thanking you for your cooperation and hoping to be of further service, I am…” [by M.V.]
R3. 5/15/44 Letter from Mrs. [2514] to EC: “I have tried and tried to get this letter written but just couldn’t. Mother isn’t at all well so do my best to help her as much as possible. When I do find time to sit down to write I’m just too tired to think. However, I do think about you so often and the wonderful work you are doing. I certainly don’t believe I would be alive to-day, if it hadn’t been for you and the wonderful help you have given me. God works His Wonders in many ways, doesn’t He?
“I’m feeling so much better now. My knees ache occasionally but not as bad as they used to. Right now my heels ache worse more often than anything else. It is certainly a queer disease. It seems to be working out through my feet. My knees used to do the same way but now they are lots better. It sounds funny to say you have a heel ache but that’s the only way I can describe it, and when I say ache I do mean ache.
“I ordered some new tops and wires from Mr. Godfrey and am going to order some new poles if he has any. My poles are getting real thin and I’m afraid something might happen then I’d be out of luck.
“Guess who came to see me the other week? Yes, Mrs. [2526]. They are in Memphis now and she was just passing through on her way to Nashville. She has been taking treatments (x-ray, etc.) from Dr. King for quite some time. I think she looks mighty bad but she seems to think she’s better. I do wish she could progress like I have.
“I’m so glad you can make me a ck. reading. I’ll be right here at home as usual. I’m certainly anxious to get my rdg.
“I am enclosing a ck. for $10.00. That is correct, isn’t it? I received my membership card saying my membership was good until October, 1945. How much will the membership be after that? I guess I’m dumb but for some reason or other I just can’t get this membership business straight. Could you explain to me a little more?
“I don’t have many questions. First, I’d like to know what to massage with. So far we can get peanut oil but Lanoline is a thing of the past. We are using just the peanut oil now. Should we use something else?
“Second: Any change in light or machine.
“Third: Will it be all right for me to try to lose some weight. I would feel so much better if I could lose some.
“We are still hoping and praying for my complete recovery and feel sure our prayers will be answered. Everyone tells me I look so much better. My brother has been here for the past 3 wks., his first furlough in a yr. He was amazed at my improvement. That helps a lots. Having been gone a yr. he could certainly tell whether I was any better or not.
“In my ck. I’m sending $.50 for the booklet ‘Physical Reading’ you suggested. Please send this to me. [Sent 5/18/44, GD]
“I hope you are well and will continue to be well. I can certainly sympathize with anyone who is sick or doesn’t feel well.
“Thank you for your kindness and, as always, I remain…”
