This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of August, 1941, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [2517], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]
Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.H.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the entity, the body here, [2517]; this we have had before.
-
As we find, there are some conditions that show improvement. Others appear to be rather irregular, and some apparently are working toward hindrances in the body.
-
We would follow rather closely ALL those suggestions that have been made; including in the diet those foods conducive to giving extra amounts of Vitamin B-1.
-
However, we would cut down on the starches and sugars so much. Have more of fruits and vegetables that carry those properties.
-
In the corrective measures osteopathically, those centers should receive special attention for setting up better drainages, through which there is the coordination of the assimilating system, - the liver, the kidneys and the alimentary canal; stimulating that center in which there is the activity of the liver especially as related to the gall duct.
-
These as we find will bring the bettered conditions for the body.
-
Do not overtax the body, for the nerves are depleted; and because of this lack there are those periods of sudden distresses and exhaustion.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Is there danger of overuse of muscles or joints? (A) Not if not used to excess, or strained.
-
(Q) How much activity do you recommend at this time? (A) Twenty minutes every two to three hours.
-
(Q) Is there any danger of spreading infection through system? (A) Not with drainages set up, and only stimulating the activities of the liver and gall duct.
-
(Q) Are dizzy spells caused from overexertion or nerves? (A) As indicated, partially both - or a combination of both. Hence the injunctions not to overtax the body, but some activities to be sure.
-
(Q) How should we control the gain of weight? (A) As indicated, as to diet.
-
(Q) Any special areas you would recommend treating, other than those indicated? (A) We have indicated that necessary.
Do that.
- We are through with this Reading.

[Ques. answered without being asked: Should diet be fortified with Vitamin B in addition to diet?]
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 8/11/41 [2517]‘s letter to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:
We received the reading and will try hard to follow directions as closely as possible. I do want to get well as quickly as possible. Since I came to N.H. I have evidently been over doing.
Dr. Sperl was pleased with the report and is perfectly willing to cooperate without further information.
Sincerely hoping your vacation will be an enjoyable one.
Many thanks, [2517]
R2. 8/30/41 Mrs. [1770]‘s letter: “Mrs. […] wrote last week and spoke of the slow progress being made by her daughter-in-law. She was happy in that knowledge, for the child had been steadily growing worse, during the past year, until she had the reading.”
R3. 9/12/41 [2517]‘s letter to EC:
…, Mass.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
We trust that you had a lovely vacation and if you traveled through New Hampshire I am sure you enjoyed every minute of your time.
Since last hearing from you we have finally got our feet on Massachusetts soil and have once again changed doctors. It does sound so silly when I think of all the doctors I have had since last February. However it has introduced you and your work to a few people who had never had occasion to hear of you before now.
At present; and I hope for some time to come; at least as long as I need treatments I am going to a Dr. Marion Griswold [Marion Griswold, D.O.], 486 Lebanon St., Melrose, Massachusetts. You will no doubt wish to record this address.
Dr. Griswold is quite interested in the case and I’m sure at the next reading she will have many questions to ask. She is willing to cooperate and feels that the body has improved over a period of three weeks. It certainly does seem good to be able to be out doors in the sunshine and not have so many aches and pains. Our little son is enjoying our house here too and we have lots of fun being out doors together.
Sincerely, [2517] …, Mass.
R4. 11/27/41 [2517]‘s letter to EC:
I have been progressing slowly but steadily and the doctor is so pleased as well as the rest of us.
In talking with the doctor we find we would appreciate another check reading when it is convenient for you to give it to us.
We will make a list of questions and send them to you when we next hear from you in regards to date and time of reading.
R5. 12/5/41 “The doctor, Marion Griswold, had only 2 ques. of importance she requested to be answered, and I had one, so will list them here. Thank you kindly and I shall be anxiously awaiting a reply and I pray that the body is proven to be in a bettered condition.”
- Would it be advisable and of any assistance to use either ovarian substance or one of the estrogens by mouth or by injection?
- Would Vitamin B complex orally or by injection be of any advantage?
- Is it still advisable to continue with two treatments a week or could I possibly do with one a week, now that I am better?
