This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of December, 1941, in accordance with request made the by the self - Mrs. [2517], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes

3. As we find, the body gradually continues on the improve.

4. We find it would be well to keep all of that which has been suggested, - as to the corrections to be made, and as to the strengthening influences.

5. It is better, as we find, that the B-1 Vitamins that make for resistance be assimilated in the foods, so far as possible, and as much as practical, - such as in re-inforced cereals, plenty of citrus fruits, plenty of all vegetables cooked OR raw that add such to the body.

6. To supplement same, - once a week there may be taken by the body the B-1 vitamin, - not too great a quantity but just sufficient to aid in supplying the energies.

7. If the ovarian injections are given, these should NOT be too close together, else we may overstimulate the activity of the glands as related to these balances kept in the body.

8. We may then give same once or twice a week, if necessary, but we would keep - for the time being - the massage twice a week, gradually leaving these off to one - and keep these up for SEVERAL weeks yet.

9. Do these, as we find, and we should keep the body on the improve.

10. Ready for questions.

R1. 12/16/41 Letter: “It is with great joy that we accepted the report of Dec. 9th, which came yesterday morning, along with a nice letter from you. I am feeling so much better and feel so grateful to you for my improved condition.

“Mrs. [1770] sent Mother […] a letter this past week and enclosed a picture of you and your family and also a snap of your home. We were happy to get a glimpse of you and yours…”

Dear Mrs. [2517]:-

Thanks for yours of the 16th. Am more than glad you were pleased with the report, and to know you are feeling better is just fine - All praise to HIM, that makes and has made Christmas possible.

Good to hear even indirectly from Mrs. [1770], she is such a wonderful person, one of the loveliest characters have ever known, am sure she doesn’t herself realize how much influence she has on others, in her own sweet way, and at this season one remembers her with a special thank you blessing.

Our little family are all torn asunder with this war - just the two boys and suppose both will be in service. One is already, the other serving in the capacity of recreation director for the camps here at Beach - we have two of them, you know - but life and liberty are at stake, and all must do our bit.

Your son is just where [in age] he will be all excited about Christmas - and as heard announced on radio this morning. He will be looking for Santa, tonight - war or no war - and no matter how much war, the spirit of Christmas, can be abroad this season, do we that Love the Lord will it.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Your lovely letter came to me shortly after the holidays and we were most pleased to hear from you. I certainly will pray that your sons who are serving or are to serve the United States in this dreadful war, will come safely through their duties.

I pray every night that there will be a time of peace soon and consequently will be most happy to set aside any time to pray that we may have peace.

If you are going to have prayer at a certain time a day I should be more happy to know that time.

R4. 2/26/42 Mrs. [2517]‘s ltr. to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce:

The reading in regards to the war [281-60, 2/3/42] was received some time ago. Even though I have not written to you since I received the reading, we; […] [husband] and I, have been carrying out said suggestions in prayer. The reading was most interesting and I have read it to others.

Last Tuesday evening […] [husband] and I went down to the General Electric Company in Lynn and saw and heard Arthur Menken. He showed us pictures and lectured on “The Battle of the Pacific.” It was most interesting, but as Mr. Menken said it certainly is tragic and heartbreaking to think Singapore and the various sections of the Islands that now lay in ruin. Among the moving pictures were some that were taken from a Japanese plane of the actual bombing of the Burma road.

R5. 3/2/42 EC’s ltr. to Mrs. [2517]:

Dear Mrs. [2517]:-

Thank you for yours of the 26th. The response from the reading for the prayer has been marvelous, and the experiences many have had with same is wonderful. While the reading was short, not even like I personally thought it would be - but am sure there must be an answer with in to many from same - else would not have had as ready response as we have had. So many make such a bugaboo in our search for GOD, when lo! We find HE is present all the while.

The Scenes of the battle of the Pacific must have been interesting - yet when we think of our boys being in same, goodness, makes one shudder, and feel as if have several there, three young men [[1641], […], [361]?], who have known now for several years through the work. Each of them write me just as a Son, as neither of them have a Father living. Have been in the thick of it since Dec. the 7th - have only heard from one since Feb. 1st. What a strain it becomes at time - without the TRUST in THE CHRIST standing between the Living and the Dead - well, would be very black, but HE will protect.

R6. 6/15/42 Mrs. [2517]‘s ltr. to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce:

The May Bulletin is most interesting and I am always so happy to hear of someone receiving help from your readings.

It will be quite impossible to be present at the Annual Congress on June 19th. However I will be most happy to unite with you in prayer from my own house.

A year has gone by since my first reading June 17, 1941 - and we are all pleased at my progress over this past year. I still have trying days but there is usually a good reason for them and I stop and realize what my reading said and look forward to a better day tomorrow.

The doctor is pleased with my improvement over six months and suggests I have treatments every two weeks and see how the body reacts.

There is a question I would like to ask you and that is how much does family membership cost a year? Something I would like […] to have a reading and I would also like another reading myself to determine my health.

I would thank you if you would answer these questions sometime in the next few weeks when you are not so busy.

INDIVIDUAL CASE REPORT

Date of Readings: 6/27/41, 8/6/41 & Case No.: 2517-1, 12/9/41. 2517-2, 2517-3.

PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS CAREFULLY (1) In your opinion did the analysis of the Reading cover the condition? Yes.

(2) Give symptoms of condition described correctly? Paralysis of joints and slight swelling and redness. Weak spells and complete exhaustion. Poor digestion and very bad headaches.

(3) What was the physician’s analysis of this condition? This had been analyzed by a reading before I took on the case and in a spirit of cooperation I attempted to follow the suggestions of the reading.

(4) Have the suggestions given in the Reading been followed exactly as outlined? Yes.

(5) For how long? 17 months.

(6) Describe the extent to which improvements have resulted? Return of ability to do housework, take care of child and take up normal life.

(7) Comment. I gave this report of the Dr. after I had received it from you but she has been so busy she neglected to fill it out until this past Thursday. The Dr. answered questions 3-4-5-6 and I answered 1-2 [and 7].

May I add to the Dr.’s answers in questions 4-5 and say that since the day the first reading arrived directions have been followed closely as possible. You see I had two other Dr.’s before the present Dr. due to moving from one state to another.

In regards to the diet I have followed as closely as possible. My wrist was bothered from grating carrots so I took to drinking carrot juice in its place aside from eating them raw and cooked as often as possible but I must admit they or the juice has grown quite distasteful in the past year and a half.

I also take Armour’s Bone Marrow in place of the actual bone marrow as it wasn’t always convenient to get the bones, and we didn’t have chicken very often.

The Calcios is still taken every day and the Acigest once a week in the raw milk as suggested.

I am still continuing the Epsom Salts baths every 13 days after taking the Atomidine as suggested.

Recently I had a dental inspection and the dentist found my teeth in good order which proves that the body is functioning more normally too.

Dr. Griswold finds my body better physically even over the past 6 months.

I hope this has been answered successfully and if possible would like to arrange for a check reading sometime after February 1st. If you would kindly notify me when, I would like to ask a few questions. I understand this fee will be $10. am I right.

R8. 2/9/43 (Tues. P.M.) Mrs. [2517]‘s ltr. to EC:

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Enclosed is money order for reading morning of Feb. 18th 10.30 - 11:30 E.W.T. I shall be ready at that time.

I hope the money order is made out right. My book is in the hands of Miss [2928] in … and I am praying she will have a reading. Perhaps you have heard from this girl already. Miss [2928] seemed quite interested in your work and the help you have given to so many people.

My doctor said I was doing so well she did not need to ask you any questions for this reading. However there are a few things I would like to have cleared up in my mind.

1. What condition is the heart in? At times it pounds quite hard. Is this a normal action?
2. Is the gall bladder in good functioning condition?
3. Should I eat the white of the egg as well as the yolk of the egg?
4. What is the cause of my very painful headaches that I have frequently? Is there anything I can do or take to relieve them?
5. I seem to have a very bad odor to my breath and consequently a bad taste in my mouth. Does this come from the stomach or the throat? What is a good preventative for it?

B2. I have been progressing slowly but steadily and the doctor is so pleased as well as the rest of us. In talking with the doctor we find we would appreciate another check rdg. when it is convenient for you to give it to us.

B3. 12/5/41 The doctor, Marion Griswold, had only 2 ques. of importance she requested to be answered, and I had one, so will list them here. Thank you kindly and I shall be anxiously awaiting a reply and I pray that the body is proven to be in a bettered condition.

1. Would it be advisable and of any assistance to use either ovarian substance or one of the estrogens by mouth or by injection?
2. Would Vitamin B complex orally or by injection be of any advantage?
3. Is it still advisable to continue with two treatments a week or could I possibly do with one a week, now that I am better?
